Sasori's POV

Things weren't supposed to go llike this.

I don't know what happened or when it happened. I just know that one moment I was working in the lab and the next moment screams could be heard all over the place. An intruder had entered the building and if we didn't act fast he would kill all of us.

First thing I had to do was to find Pain. He was the most important person in this place right now. I needed to find him before the enemy did. I quickly started searching every office, every level, as my hands held a gun ready to pull the trigger. My eyes scanned fast every room as I kept running inside the corridors. This place was huge and if I wasn't fast enough I would end up dead or my boss would.

I was ready to enter another room when suddenly a blade, which was pointed to my neck, stopped me. I had barely enough time to stop before it sliced my neck. I only ended up with a very thin cut on my neck, making a drop of blood fall from it. My eyes went at the owner of the sword. There my eyes met a pair of (e/c) eyes that had a sharp and serious look in them. A gaze that I would recognize anywhere and everywhere.

-"Hello (Y/n)." I told the woman in front of me.

-"I always thought that you would be the last person to run like a scaredy-cat from an attack Sasori." she told me as she took the gun from my hand before placing it in her belt.

-"I wasn't exactly running to escape."

-"I know. Take me to Pain. That's where you were going anyway."

-"You know me so well."

-"Then you understand that if you don't do as I have told you, that I will kill you." she warned me before pushing me to start walking.

I sighed defeated before doing as she told me to. (Y/n) was an ex member of our team, the Akatsuki team. A team that was made by the government in order to take care of the hard and difficult jobs, like killing powerful people or avoiding countries to end up in war. She used to be part of all that, but once her dear brother, Nagato, died in a mission two years ago she changed. She became distand, colder. And things got entirely out of control when she killed Hidan. One of our strongest members. After that she immediately became a wanted person and was expelled from the Akatsuki. We tried hunting her down, but she was really good at hiding. She was good at everything. That's why she managed to kill Zetsu, Deidara and Orochimaru as well.

-"You changed. The (Y/n) I know would never hurt me." I told her as we got in the elevator and started going up.

-"The (Y/n) you knew died with her brother. I am here to take revenge on every Akatsuki member for what you did."

-"You still believe that it's our fault, don't you?"

-"He was sent on a rescue mission and faced a whole army by himself. He was sent there to be killed. It was a suicide mission and you know it." she answered as she held tighter her sword, making her veins visible.

-"He knew the risk and still went." I told her calmly as the elevator's doors opened.

-"He knew nothing! You tricked him!" she shouted at me as she pushed me with force making me fall on the ground.

I groaned annoyed at how vulnerable I was. If I hadn't panicked so much, I would have seen her coming and defeated her on the spot. She was just an angry child in my eyes. A child that I wish I could have spend more time with when I had the chance.

I turned around to face her only to find my gun pointed at my face. A serious and angry look on her face as usual. I think that I should be panicking, but I find myself more calm that I ever was. I know what is coming and I can't avoid it. I can only take in the moment. Our last moment together.

-"I guess that's it." I mumbled as I sat on the floor looking at her.

-"Say hello to my brother." she told me as she fixed her aim.

-"I will." I told her smiling softly.
-"And I wish things could have turned out differently. I had plans for us."

After hearing my words her look, body and soul relaxed for a moment. It was like I had triggered something inside her mind. It was like I had found her only and last soft spot she had inside her. A spot that she will make sure to kill after this.

-"Wait for me Sasori."

Those were the last words I heard before feeling something hitting me with force on my forehead. She shot me. She didn't hesitate, neither backed off from it. She did it professionally, like an Akatsuki member. She did it just like I had taught her. She was now one step closer to her goal, her revenge. And she was right for everything, because I had send her the files about her brother's mission long ago. I was the one that told her the bittersweet truth. However, she didn't know it. But that's ok, because I knew the risk. I knew how things would end up. I was prepared for it. And I will be prepared again when she will come to find me in hell.

I will be waiting for her.
