.....

(Y/n)'s POV

A loud sigh escaped my throat as I was walking back from the training grounds. My body was tired and sore from a long day of training and my shaking legs were more than ready to give out. As much as I wanted to go home, shower and fall into my bed, my hunger prevented me from doing so. So I slowly walked over to Ichiraku Ramen shop, sat down on one of the bar stools and fell over the counter.

-"I don't know why I do this to myself. I'm going to be sore for at least a week. By then I will have gone on another mission, and I will be sore from that as well."

-"You shouldn't work yourself so hard then. Resting is just as important as training you know." a voice from beside me told as the owner of it sat down next to me.
-"Every time I see you, you look worn out. I think you might actually train more than Rock Lee, which isn't be healthy. It seems to me that you don't know your own limits."

“I know my limits Sai, don't worry. Just because I'm tired doesn't mean I'm training too hard.” I answered as I lifted my head to look at him smiling softly.

I was glad for his company. Though my body was still too tired to do anything, I was glad that I had someone to chat with as I ate. Food tastes better with company after all.

-"However lately, I have been wondering why I'm training at all. I really don't feel like I'm getting any better." I murmured as I sighed.

-"It's very possible that you're not progressing at all. Maybe you're not training correctly." Sai told me as he ate some of his ramen.

-"You are right. Maybe that's the problem. I wouldn't be at all surprised to learn that I'm doing something wrong."

I know that Sai isn't all that good at encouraging people, or even knowing when those people needed encouragement, but his words still hurt a little. As bad as he was at sensing emotions, he could still tell that I wasn't at all happy. So he spoke once again attempting to remedy what he had said since he thought that he had done a mistake.

-"I, of course, haven't watched you train in a long time, so I really can't comment on your abilities. I could watch you train a time or two if you'd like though. I really wouldn't mind." Sai said as he faked smiled.

If I didn't know better, I would swear it was real.

-"To be honest, I enjoy being around you, so helping you in any way would be my pleasure."

-"If you honestly don't mind, that would probably be really helpful to me. Knowing me, I have been training the wrong way all along and didn't even know it." I told him as I felt a little better.

-"I highly doubt that. Even if you had no ninja-like knowledge at all, you couldn't do everything wrong. At least, I don't think you could." Sai told me as he finished eating.

That's when I noticed that I haven't touched my bowl yet. Sai noticed that immediately too, but before I could do anything he held a large streaming pile of noodles to my mouth ready to feed me. His sudden movement made me blush a little but I didn't move away.

-"I know you're trying to help, but I can feed myself you know."

-"I have seen you feed yourself many times before. However, if you are really that tired, this is for the best. I wouldn't want you to hurt yourself doing a simple task like eating."

Sai refused to step back from his decision. So he continued to hold up the chopsticks with a completely straight face.

-"Am I doing this incorrectly?" he asked confused but then his eyes widened.
-"Oh, I know."

He seemed more embarrassed for some reason, which I didn't understand. He cleared his throat, pulled back the chopsticks and then in a strange, zig zagging pattern, brought it back to my mouth.

-"Open wide for me."

His actions reminded me of a mother trying to get her baby to eat. I wasn't sure if it was my exhaustion making this scene so hilarious and awkward or not, but I couldn't stop myself from smiling. So I ended up accepting his kind gesture and opened my mouth to eat. He almost immediately shoved the noodles into my mouth. Trying not to choke myself with laughter, I quickly swallowed down the food and shook my head.

-"You don't have to go that far Sai. I'm not a baby, but if you keep treating me like one, people are going to think you're crazy."

-"That's perfectly fine with me." Sai said smiling as he continued to feed me bite after bite.
-"I'm sure they already think that of me."

-"Well, if they don't already, they certainly will if they see you doing this."

Sai continued feeding me making me blush more and more with each bite that I took. I wasn't sure what it was about being fed like this that made me feel so awkward, but I couldn't seem to stop myself from blushing or being embarrassed. Though only a small amount of my ramen was left by now, I couldn't eat any more. It was absolutely delicious, and I wanted to keep eating, but my stomach wouldn't let me. Sai lowered the chopsticks to the bar and paid for both of our meals. Normally I would have insisted on paying for my own, but as tired as I was and as tired as my mind was, I didn't even notice him pay.

-"Thanks for feeding me, even though you really didn't have to." I told him embarrassed.

-"No problem at all."

I was too tired to even stand on my own, but I had to go home so I had to try. However, Sai had already noticed this so before I could say anything he wrapped an arm around my waist, put my arm around his shoulders and helped me up.

-"If you continue training this way, you may very well make yourself immobile." he said as he slowly started walking towards my home.
-"I'm more than certain that you don't want that to happen."

-"I will be just fine. I think this weather is just making me feel worse than I actually am."

Having a difficult time focusing my steps, I just trust him to support me for the rest of the way. Closing my eyes slightly, I leaned my body against his and continued to walk in a sloppy, clumsy manner.

-"People are going to think you are drunk. You aren't even walking a straight line anymore." Sai told me with a small giggle.

-"You are to be blamed for that actually. You are the one leading me here, so technically you are the one walking clumsy." I told him exhausted.

-"I suppose you are correct. Let's fix this then."

Then Sai lifted me into his thin arms and held me bridal style as my head rested against him. I was to tired to understand what was happening so we continued for my home. Though it took less than five minutes to get there, I was almost completely asleep when he reached my door.

-"We are at your home (Y/n). Do you think you can make it to your bed?"

-"Of course I can."I told him as I tried to free myself from his hold, but quickly gave up.
-"On second thought, it might be better if you carried me. My eyes don't want to open."

With my permission, he entered my home and carefully placed me on your bed. Even though Sai wasn't holding me anymore, my arms were still tightly around his shoulders, forcing him to stand over my bed in an awkward, uncomfortable position.

-"You really shouldn't push yourself like this. I have never seen someone being so tired just from training. I think you might have given yourself brain damage somehow."

-"I always get this way when I'm tired. And I can promise you, there is nothing at all wrong with my brain." I told him as I pulled him closer to me.
-"But just in case I did mess myself up, you could stay here with me, only if you wanted to of course."

-"Staying with you might be the best option.” Sai said as he gave into my weak pulling and climbed into bed with me.
-"I could be wrong about this, but I have read that this sort of thing is inappropriate behavior. Are you sure you want me to stay?"

-"Yes." I answered as I wrapped my arms around him and snuggled my face into his side.
-"But if you try anything, you are going to wish you were never born. I have been told I can be a little violent when tired. I warned you."

-"I will remember that even if I wasn't planning on doing anything. Now go to sleep."

Soon I fell asleep however Sai was still awake. He wasn't used to this sort of human contact. Sai closed his eyes and smiled honestly for the first time after a long time.

-"That's odd. My books said that this sort of behavior was wrong, but they must be mistaken. Nothing so comforting and pleasant, could be improper." he mumbled to himself as he relaxed his body and allowed himself to begin drifting.
-"Maybe books can't be believed in all cases."his breath slowed as his subconscious took over.

-"Perhaps I'm the one not training correctly after all."

....

The end.
