Please forgive me for the long wait! Here is an extra long chapter. 😅

When we made it back to the village there was a weird aura. "I'm going to go give our report to the hokage." Kakashi sensei stated. "Yes, i'll come too. Listen up, you all go rest; you can all pick up your paychecks tomorrow." We all acknowledged Asuma sensei's orders and I started  heading towards my home when someone grabbed my wrist. "Naruto we need to talk." It was Shikamaru? "Umm, sure what is it?" I smiled talking a bit loudly. "Could we go somewhere more private." Shikamaru is acting weird... I'm sure he won't hurt me so why not? "Okay, does my apartment sound good?" I asked. "Yeah, which way?" I turned and told him to follow me.

  We made it to my apartment without me running into anything thankfully. "Sorry if it's a bit messy I can't remember if I cleaned it or not." I rubbed the back of my head. I was hoping no one broke in or something. "That's fine, you are Naruto after all." I chuckled. I unlocked my door and stepped in. "HOME SWEET HOME!" I yelled. I headed for my kitchen to boil some water for tea. "So, what did you want to talk about Shikamaru? After this I'm going to go talk to Jiji."  I told him trying to find my tea pot. "Nothing much, I just wanted to ask you a question. Shouldn't take long." Oh god. Shikamaru is smart, what if he found out Kurama is sealed in me?! He would hate me like the rest of the villagers... although he has a right to. "Are you blind?" I stood there in shock. The sound of my tea pot hitting the floor finally broke my shock enough to answer. "Well, why would you say that?" I asked bending behind the counter looking for the pot. Luckily Shikamaru couldn't see my struggle.

"Well for one you didn't freak out when Kakashi was ripped to shreds before our eyes. Two I saw you bump into things not even an idiot could. Three when ever you get turned around you wait for someone to walk ahead of you. Not to mention the over sensitive ears you have. Blind people adapt to their other senses so for you to be a ninja you'd have to adapt it to a level that most Jounin don't even have." I wasn't really surprised that Shikamaru found out. He is a genius after all. No use in lying since my reaction gave it away. "Well, your right." I answered. I put the tea pot on the stove top to boil the water.

"That's pretty troublesome for a ninja." I looked in his general direction and smiled widely. " I guess you could say that." I answered handing a cup to him. "Thanks. Who else knows?" I sipped my tea as I sat down. "The Hokage, Inoichi, my doctor, and you now. My blindness isn't that obvious though is it?" I asked him. "No, not unless your looking for it." I sighed. "Thank Kami. Please keep it a secret. I don't need the counsel on my back about that." I heard a chuckle. "Troublesome blond, I'll keep it a secret but, I have one last question." I took his up and went to the sink. "what is it?" I asked. "How did you become blind?" I paused. I don't want that memory back. "I don't want to talk about it." I stated coldly.

Shika's pov

I walk into Narutos apartment and it's more bare than I thought it would be but, I guess it would be if my theory is correct. He made me tea while I asked him some questions which He answered. Although I new he would since even though he can keep a secret he's still the knuckle headed idiot from the academy. I still have one question though. "How did you become blind?" He froze in place then turned and with an icy glare and said with an equally icy voice. "I don't want to talk about it." That surprised me. I didn't that voice could come from his mouth. His eyes held only hatred and it sent shivers down my spine.

"That's fine, I better get home before my troublesome mother kills me." I told him standing up heading towards the door. "Also, I may regret this but, if you need help I can help you out." Finally Naruto said something. "Thanks but, I've been doing this for years. I won't need help." His attitude took a complete turn as he smiled towards me. I started to walk out when There was a knock. I open the door and Kakashi looks at me a little weirdly but, then asked. "Is Naruto here?" Naruto turned poked his around the corner. "What is it Kakashi sensei is something wrong?" He asked.
"Umm, lets sit down." I moved out of sthe way for Kakashi. "Shikamaru, it might be best for you to go comfort your sensei." I looked at him weirdly but, started my way towards senseis house.

Nobody's pov

"What's wrong Kakashi? I was about to go tell Jij err.. the third about my mission!" Naruto smiled bouncing in his chair. "Umm... well, you see. We went to give our report and, well the Hokage wasn't there." Kakashi tried to explain with a long face. "He might just be on a walk, give him an hour." Naruto laughed. Kakashi sighed. "Naruto, The Hokage isn't with us anymore. He was killed." Kakashi said looking at the younge boy. Now Kakashi and Well, anyone that knows Naruto knew that the third basically raised him. They had a bond that was built on trust. A trust that takes years to achieve.

The suffocating silence was interrupted by a choke. "H-he can't be dead. He's to strong to die. Jiji may be old but there is no way he could die." The blond had tears burning his eyes. Thoughts of past memories circling his mind like a shark. "I know you cared a lot for him and he to you so I thought you might want someone you know to tell you instead of hearing it on the street or some other place." Naruto brung his knees to his chest. "Could you leave." Naruto Asked not wanting to show how weak he was to his sensei. "Naruto, are you sure? I know your a strong person but, everyone needs someone to lean back on every once in a while." His head shot up towards Kakashi tear streaks running down his face. "I said get out." He snapped towards his sensei.

Kakashi left and the boy sat there for the rest of the day until he drifted off to sleep. To exhausted from crying to stay awake any longer.

The next day Naruto woke up and decided to take a walk and eat his favorite comfort food l. His mind was still foggy and it was noon. The sun was blazing in the sky as he walked towards ichiraku ramen; ignoring all the remarks and names the villagers threw at him. He finally made it and sat down putting his head on the table waiting for Teuchi. "What will it be today Naruto?" He asked the boy with a smile. "What ever is cheap enough to eat till I throw up." The boy replied. A man with white hair walked in and sat down next to the kid. "I'll pay for him. Get what ever you want kid." The man said to the boy. "Then the normal." Naruto told Teuchi not passing up the chance for free ramen. Teuchi nodded a bit concerned for the kid but, getting what he requested.

"So what's your name kid?" The old man said after giving his order to the man. "Naruto." He replied emotionless. "Ahh, so your Naruto, I'm Jiriaya! The great toad sage! I'm also quiet the ladies man too." He yelled. Naruto nodded in acknowledgment. "You know, I need to find the new Hokage want to come?" Naruto stared at the man in shock. He didn't even know this guy besides the stories jiji told him! "Sorry I don't go anywhere with strangers or pervy sages but, I do appreciate the ramen." Naruto told jiriaya.

"Hey! Don't call me that brat! I am a very highly praised man! I'm not going to be downgraded by you." He stated. Naruto chuckled a bit at the silly guy in front of him. He new the man was strong from his chakra. It was as big or bigger than Jiji's not to mention that the third told him all about his old team. "Jiji told me that your a pervert so, I'm going to call you one." He stated eating his 4th bowl of ramen. "Ahh, so you have heard of me. I also heard of you. So, come with me to get tsunade." He told the kid. "I don't know..." Naruto said finishing up his bowl. "Why are you even asking me anyway? I just met you! Your crazy if you think I'm going to go on a journey with a man I just met."

"Listen brat I know you don't know me but, I know you so why don't you just come with me?" Naruto was honestly starstruck at this point. "Because I have common sense! Now thank you for the ramen pervy sage but, I'm going home." Naruto stood up. Jiriaya sighed he should have known the kid would put up such a fight. "Okay, what if I taught you a cool new high rank jutsu?" Jiriaya Asked. This caught his attention. "What is it?" Naruto Asked. "It's called a raseangon (sorry I don't know how to spell it and my spell it different ways 😅) it's a very difficult but, very powerful technique from the fourth Hokage himself."

Jiriaya formed a rasengon in his hand while Naruto felt sensed the ball of chakra. "Please I bet I'd learn that in a day!" He yelled at the sannin. "Please brat! You'd be lucky to learn it in a year!" Jiriaya chuckled. "Oh, yeah!" Naruto Yelled back. "Ha! Okay brat you think your something? Meet me at the big lake tomorrow and I'll show you the first step. If you succeed to make a rasengon in a day I won't bother you for a couple weeks." Naruto interrupted him. "A couple weeks?! How about ya just stop?" Naruto was getting worked up over this guy. "Shut it, and if you don't succeed then you come with me to fetch the fifth Hokage. Do we have a deal kid?"

Naruto smiled. "Sure pervy sage, and I'll make a rasen-thingy tomorrow! Just you watch!" Naruto then stormed out. "That kid is just like his father." Teuchi said laughing. "You know his father?" Jiriaya Asked a bit surprised." Teuchi laughed. "Of course I do Kushina was my number one customer. They used to come here all the time. That's why I treat the kid the way I do. That and he is a good boy. He's been coming here since he could walk. Except he was gone for a couple months. He had me worried sick." All this intrigued Jiriaya greatly. "Anyways here is your total." Jiriaya's eyes got big. "That brat."

Soooooo, it took me a while but, I updated! I hope everyone is having a good day and that good fortune follows you always! Anyways I've had major turmoil when it came to killing off Sarutobi. Mainly because this has been one of my plans since the beginning even though he's a good character. Also SasuNaru is gonna come just be patient with me 😅😁till next time
