The doctor said my baby is due at the end of this month. Sleeping at night is so uncomfortable but I know the birth of my baby will make it worth it. My baby is already helping my grieving family. Ammu began to knit baby clothes, baby hats and everything in between. Despite there being a shortage due to the war, she still has an abundance of yarn to work with.
Baba and my husband began building a baby crib together. Baba still says he thinks that the telegram was false but a couple weeks ago we received a telegram that Bhai had been buried by his fellow soldiers. I'm guessing because of the war they weren't able to send his body back so we can only hope he was buried in a rightful way.
Bhabi went back home to stay with her mother and siblings. We were against it, since it's not safe to leave the house and travel all the way to another village but she insisted. In a way it felt like she was breaking away from our family. Ammu said there was cultural stigma surrounding it and she probably felt unwelcome, since Bhai is what made her our family and he's no longer here. I think that's bizarre and I feel like I should've taken it upon myself to ensure she stayed. Hopefully she'll come to visit soon.
The war is still blazing on with no sign of an end, I don't know how much longer we can all take
