"Hey Mao," You greet one of your best friends.

Mao turns away from a guard at HQ.

"Hi nya." He waves a paw.

"We're going to the mall today. I just need to get one more stamp on my card then I could get a free ice cream." Ruka waves an ice cream card.

Mao turns away, "I have to go home right away." He simply says.

Both yourself and Ruka glance at each other, before narrowing your eyes at the catlike guard suspiciously.

'He's always ditching us to go home after work.' Ruka thought, shadow casting over his eyes.

'We get half the day off. What could he already have planned?' You narrow your eyes.

'Let's follow him.' You both thought. A mischievous glint in your eyes.

You both followed Mao to an apartment building.

"So this is where he stays." You say, looking up at the building.

"I thought he stayed in the same building we do." Ruka shrugs.

You both kept your distance from Mao as you followed him inside.

Ruka narrows his eyes in confusion when seeing Mao walk straight through, going out the back door.

"I don't get it. Where's he going?" You shrug at Ruka's question.

You both followed him out the back door.

You watched from the window on the door as he stared up at a tree.

Following his gaze, you saw a bird. You watched curiously as he grabbed a fire extinguisher and aimed it at the bird.

"You need leave this island. This is not a place for pets." He simply says.

He holds down the handle, and smoke of cold air shorts out violently.

You gasped-Ruka covered your mouth-as the bird fell to the ground. 

"What did you do!?" Ruka opened the door, running over in a panic.

"Ruka?" Mao gasps surprised.

"Never cover my mouth Ruka. I can taste your perfume." You opened the door, making a face of disgust.

"Why are you guys here nya?" Mao panics.

Yourself and Ruka shouted, "Why did you kill a bird!?"

Mao steps back, "I didn't kill it. I just want it to leave. Its always here and chirping at night. It bugs everyone in the building."

"Did you have to kill it?" You ask angrily.

Mao places his paws on his head, thinking in a panic, "Ugh why? Not again."

Ruka's head snaps up to him, "What do you mean not again?"

Mao looks around nervously, "When I was ten, I went outside to the back and I....sat on a bluejay."

You sweat drop.

Mao continues, "I tried to bring it back by using electricity but it just....caught on fire. The worst part is I had named it Samon and....he smelled delicious."

"What's this ones name then? Enki?" Ruka asks sarcastically.

"No. It was Forge but I like the name Enki for the bird." Mao nods.

You walk over to the bird, "So what do we do with 'Enki'? You can't cook it."

Mao sulks in the corner.

Ruka walks over, leaning down to inspect the bird, "We could give it mouth to mouth. I read something like this online before."

"Why were you reading something like that?"

"I got bored one day." Ruka answers. You laugh amused.

"So who's gonna give it mouth to mouth?" Mao walks over.

"You are." Both his best friends bark at him.

"What?! Why? I'm not getting my lips near that thing." Mao steps back disgusted.

"You killed it." Yourself and Ruka argued.

"Are you serious right now? Since when has a cat and bird made out?"

"Just do it!" You both tell.

I'm watching TBBT right now. That's where I got this idea from XD it was supposed to be something else but I couldn't resist.
