Jyugo x Reader: Forgotten Freedom

I don't normally like doing sad oneshots, I even put it as a "rule" in the request page, but I'm sad right now and feel like I should update more, so here's a somewhat sad oneshot
---------------------------------------------------------

-----Past-----

Rain. That's all that seemed to happen in this town.

Not many people walked the streets like they used too.

Though, who can blame them. It's the raining season after all.

"I hate all this rain. It's just depressing." A boy in your class said.

Looking over at him, you saw Jyugo frowning as he looked out the classroom window.

"Don't you think?" He turned to you.

Jumping in surprise, you pointed a nervous finger at yourself, "Are you talking to me?"

"Yeah." He nods.

Blinking innocently, you bring your attention to the window.

"Yeah...I guess."

He gives you a questioning gaze, "What do you mean by that?"

Shrugging, you replied softly, "The rain makes me sad but after it's over, everything has this shine to it. It's nice."

A moment of silence.

Beginning to feel awkward, you walk to the back, taking a seat at your desk.

Jyugo only watches in wonder. He wouldn't admit it but, you caught his interest.

---Time Skip---

In the past five months, you and Jyugo became a couple.

Things were great. At first.

But then big sister Momoko would come to school to visit. It surprised you really. Nanba was an All boys school. You managed to get in due to your uncle being the headminister (I think that's what it's called, talking about mr.otogi.)
And auntie being the principle.

Another girl stopping by just to visit? You were happy-to hopefully befriend her-but that quickly disappeared when she caught the attention of many of the guys in school. You didn't care for them though. You did with Jyugo though.

"Jyugo, I made you lunch." You held out a bento, timidly standing by his desk.

"Hm? Oh sure." He replies, not even glancing at you.

He only stared out the window. Probably waiting for her to walk through the gates, just like many of the other guys in the school.

Frowning, you placed the bento on his desk, before walking over to your own.

"It's always about her now." You mumbled to yourself, staring at your hands sadly.

As another two weeks went by, Jyugo still had his eyes set on Momoko.

You swear, it was like he was forgetting about you more and more.

"What's this?" Nico picks up a note on Jyugo's this.

"Look, it's signed by (y/n)." Rock points out.

"Who?" Jyugo asked.

Uno deadpans, "Your girlfriend shredhead."

"Oh." Jyugo mumbles, remembering you. 'I guess she slipped my mind.' He thought with a shrug.

Standing outside the classroom door, you stared at the screen with wide eyes, tears threatening to fall.

"He forgot...about me." You stuttered with a weak voice.

-----Reality-----

Sitting up, you looked around yourself.

Your eyes caught a glimpse of Jyugo, sleeping comfortably in his sleeping bag.

Looking out the window, you sighed in relief-seeing the familiar bars.

'I'm in my cell.' You thought happily.

"Why are you up?" A sudden voice spoke up, disturbing the peace.

Gasping, you looked at Jyugo. He sat up, wrapped in his sleeping bag with a tired look on his face.

Relaxing, you smiled, "Just had a bad dream. That's all."

He only hummed.

Looking at him nervously, you tried to reach out to him, but he grabbed your hand.

In a matter of seconds, you found yourself in his arms, sharing the same sleeping bag.

"You're fine now. I'll be here." He mumbles against your hair, holding you closer.

Smiling, you asked him gently, "Hey Jyugo, you wouldn't forget about me right?"

"Of course not. You're the best thing that's happened to me. You're my freedom." He kisses your head.

In just a moment, he was fast asleep.

Smiling, you snuggled up to him more, "That's the nicest thing you've ever said to me. Good night Jyugo. Please remember me forever."

Eyes getting heavy, you relaxed your muscles, getting comfortable, and fell asleep with him.
