Enki x Reader: Hand in Hand
This OneShot is gonna be kinda.....odd.
You walked down a hallway of building 5. You had just gotten back from your lunch break and is now heading towards the main office of the building.
One hand hang loosely by your side, the other in your jacket.
Your uniform is regular. You didn't add anything to it to make it more comfortable for you. Honestly, you couldn't care less if you had such a bland uniform. It's how's it's supposed to look. Why change it?
"You're back early." A voice says.
Stopping, (e/c) eyes glance to the left, seeing the supervisor or building 5.
"Am I? I never noticed." Walking forward, you continue to make your way to the main office.
"I know you have it. No point in trying to hide." He says.
Stopping once more, you tilt your head backwards, to see the supervisor, "Even so, I doubt anyone would want to see a hand. One from another." You look away from Samon, and continue on.
You still had your hand in your jacket, hiding something within.
-----TimeSkip-----
It's now 10pm. The prison doesn't officially rest until midnight. Most inmates would be asleep by 11, the guards would be heading home at that time as well.
"I should get going." Looking away from the clock, you stare down at the object cupped in your hand, "Don't you think Enki?"
Your received no answer.
It was expected.
Why would you expect anything from a hand.
A hand the once belonged to Enki Gokuu.
----Past----
"No. No!" You shouted form the ground.
You extended your hand, as if reaching out to Enki.
The final battle.
Brother vs brother.
Enki is losing.
You watched with horrified eyes as Enki got crushed by chunks of rocks, wood and metal.
He is indeed strong, but not even him could survive getting crushed by such things.
The only visible of Enki, was his hand.
The one that got cut off by a sharp blade of metal, falling onto his hand when he tried to reach out to you.
----Present----
A year has went by since then.
Since then, you kept his hand.
You would think it would rot, maybe even disintegrate. It didn't. Being a precious scientist as Nanba, you used a formula you created to make it last for eternity. So it would still seem alive. But it wasn't. It's just a hand. It looked to be in fine shape, but it's cold.
"I lost my husband. He promised he would never leave me. Even though he's dead, I won't let him break his promise." You spoke to yourself.
Lacing your fingers with his tenderly, you smiled sickly, "That's why we will forever be hand in hand."
