I was Soo upset that I didn't
Know when I jumped to my
Feet and started to follow my
Father.he had not gone far.
Nana stop. what do you think
Your doing was all I heard my
Mother say.

She tried to get my hand
But I shoved her off saying
"mum,if your afraid of him...
well you see,I am not."
Let's get this over and done with
Once and for all.

I continued towards my dad.
"Dad!Dad!Dad....I called out.
"What is it???" he turned to me
Looking me straight in the eye.
Nana run.. just go back and forget about him I heard my mind say..........no it's too late to quit now.i need to face my sooo called father.

"Daddy,why are you so mean to us,why dad, why..
Why?are we not people?
Don't we breath, don't you think
we deserve a fatherly love just like others,? Father anytime we see you in our mothers compound,we know that it's trouble.if you hate us that much, you should have done away with us since we were toddlers.after all, you have no religion.no one is going to punish you for that."

As I was talking,I noticed that my dad's hand had started forming into a fist.....but I kept on.
"Dad let me just say this straight.
I am not getting married to anyone.you have never been a  father to me and you will not be my father just because you want to marry me out to a total stranger because of your own selfish interest....."

After making my last statement,it was all dark.
I opened my eyes to the warmth of my mother's tear which has dropped on my chick.
"Ohhhhh! Nana your awake.
You went out for two good hours Nana.."
"Mom what are you talking about?ouchh my head hurts" I said as I sat my self up.

"Nana u passed out."
I was still staring at my mom
I had no idea what she was talking about.
"Nana you fainted after receiving a murderous slap from your father."

That was when it all occurred to me.....hmmmmmmmmm !was all I said then I started laughing.
"Nana it's not funnnnyyyyy
You nearly died nana'. My mom said.
"I know it's not funny mom.
Just like a sheep, I took my self as a burnt offering to the god's
Thank God I didn't get burnt or I would not be here by now...............but mum why didn't you stop me".

"Madam!" my mum said..."I tried stopping you but you nearly desended on me.what else did you want me to do? your sooo stubborn just like your da...."
I didn't allow her to complete it
"God forbid! i spat don't compare me to that ........"Nanaaaaa his your father my mum said in a soft voice  "and there is nothing I can do about it." I completed for her.

"Mum, am glad I did what I did
at least now he knows that
not everyone is afraid of him.
I know I am wrong but I dare not say am sorry.he should just know his place.if he wants me to respect him as a father,he should act like one."

"Am also proud of you my dear.
Am not saying you did the right thing but you see,no one has ever stood up to your father the way you did.not even me or the other wives.what he says is always final.your father never asks for anybody's opinion.your father behaves as if he is the rock of ages........"

I looked at my mum and we all boasted into laughter....
Muuuuum...... I dragged."what is it?" Nana she replied.
"i never knew you are such a character." I said.
Hhmmmmm!!!" that's because my joy moments are always hidden behind sadness she said.
Don't worry mum don't worry yourself too much or else you will DIE I said stressing it.Those giving you pain will still be alive enjoying themselves.just be happy mum for me,Mima and Nina.  Even if not for us you need it mum.everybody deserves to be happy."

I couldn't sleep at night.i kept rolling and rolling and rolling.
I just can't imagine my self.the whole mhiee getting married.not as if I don't want to get married but because my dad should not be the one to choose a husband for me .. not even my mum not anyone especially my father.
Something must be done.something must just be done or else,all that happened to day will just end up for show.
No way I won't allow that
My fainting shall not go in vain
Haaaa just like that? what is it now?ah cannot come and go and faint for free ooooo ehen.
Time to sleep.good night Nana I whispered to my self as I stretched my hand to off the lanttern beside me.there is no light in my mothers house.not even a single connection wire.its too much now it's too much.I drifted to sleep in my thoughts.
