I've been at home for a week now since I returned from the hospital with neighbors and friends coming in and out of the house every few minutes.
Jamil my little friend would have stayed with me 24/7 if not for the fact that school had resume already.

Mima and Nina have been enrolled in a government day secondary School which is not too far from my uncle's house.
Lisa and juliana are still in the same school they were, while I and my mum are always left at home.

My family will simply not let me do anything on my own.
The only thing I do for myself is eating, bathing, dressing up and talking.apart from that, they don't allow me to lift a spoon even when I try to explain that I am completely fine.

We had discussed allot with my mum and she told me how my dad sent her packing out of the family house simply because she brought nothing but distruction to his life as he claimed.
She could not go back to her parents because they will still send her back to her husband's house rather,she came to the only brother she has in the world.
One thing with my mom is that she loves being independent.
She doesn't want to be a liability to anyone as she is currently planning to leave my uncle's house and rent a different apartment for us so we can all start a new life.

As for me,I have told my family that I am not a school person.
I don't know why but school is just not my thing.
Not as if I am not good maybe it's just my lazy self.
I just plan on looking for a job,start a business or do something that will get me fast money.
At first,my uncle and mum rejected the idea but later came to a conclusion that they can't force me to do anything I don't want to do so they left me to my own opinion.

Nana my mum called out
Yes ma
I answered
Lunch is ready
Ok mum am coming.

NaNa come and sit down here we need to discuss.
Am here mum.
Nana are you sure you know what you are doing?she asked.

Nana when people's children are going to school with the aim of being Doctors, accountants, lawyers,pilots, scientist, etc
My first daughter is here telling me that she wants to be a house wife.
Sometimes I wonder if you use your common sense.

In Nigeria the fact that you are eighteen doesn't mean anything cause you are still under my care and authority Wich means you will do as I say.

One thing you parents need to understand is that you should stop comparing your children with other people's children.
They have chosen to be doctors, lawyers and professors..in future.
I have chosen to be a house wife mum and that's what I want to be in future.
Am sorry that I don't have the zeal to be the person that you want me to be......
I don't know why but I am just not into school I told my mum thinking she would come to agree with me.

Who wakes up one morning and begin to say they don't want to go to school just like that?
I mean who does that? especially in this generation?

She didn't even notice that I left her side already.

Truth be told my mum is a softie because if it were some other person's mum,am sure I would have been pounded by now

Soon enough, everyone is back home.turns out my uncle is the only male in the house with six ladies all in all.
That's a good number and trust me, with six women at home..no boredom ,no hunger.

We are all seated outside appreciating the cool breeze provided by nature when Juliana threw her question.

Is there anything like love at first sight?
Dad do you agree that there is something called love at first sight?

We all turned to my mum
Mum do you agree?I asked raising an eyebrow.
If I had experienced it,I would have said yes but since I have never experienced it,it's a no my mother replied.

Well,as for me... I've only seen that in movies but I am sure that it happens....I mean what's the point?as humans we should love each other right even if we don't see.
Sometimes I wonder how the blind people cope..I mean how would you love someone you have never seen with your bare eyes? what is theirs called?
Love at first touch Lisa bloated out and we started to laugh.
Anyway to cut the long story short.

As the smallest in the house,she quietly moved to the room.

One thing with children..
They don't get angry.
Gradually,we got tired of discussing both relevant and irrelevant issues so we decided to pray and retire to bed.

Juliana what made you ask that question?Lisa asked her as we took our mattress to the sitting room cause the bedroom cannot contain all of us.
Is it because of doctor adorable?she began to tease her sister.
They say if you love somebody Walk up to him/her and tell them you love them and you are here beating around the bush.

Somebody cannot ask simple question again in this house Juliana began to grumble.

NEPA I yelled as we all scrambled for the remote.
Who ever holds the remote control decides which channel we are going to watch.

I thought you guys were fighting?are you done?I asked them smirking with the remote control in my hands.
No we are going to continue tomorrow Juliana replied with all manner of seriousness.
For sure I know they will continue tomorrow.
Why not now?
Because we have an unfinished business.,(watching TV).

One week later.

Things were moving very fast.
I got the job of a sales girl while my mum and siblings had already moved out of my uncle's house to a new apartment but in the same area.

I started my new job but I couldn't stay at home because the place was far from home which means I would spend half of my salary on transport.
The woman I work for pleaded with me to stay at her home besides she is a very busy woman and really needed my help with most of the house chores.

Unlike Mrs Okoro,I enjoy my stay with Mrs Sarah Samuel.
She is nice loving and caring most of all, she treats me like her own child.
Mrs Sarah has two sons.
Her husband doesn't stay with them because of the nature of his job but he visits once in a while.

Her sons are Matthew known as Matt and Andrew His brother.
Matt is this kind,free and loving guy.
Andrew is the complete opposite.
Rude, naughty and arrogant.
He once begged me not to report to his mum that he was into hard drugs when i caught him one night.
One thing he doesn't know is that I care less.Its his life after all not mine. I am here to do my job and mind my business and that's totally fine by me.

Things started to change after a few months of my peaceful New job.
Mrs Sarah had travelled to go see her husband.
I was left with two big boys at home.
This time around, Andrew started to show his true colors.
He started to harass me,he comes to the shop and Force's me to give him money or else I would lose my job.
He began to hold night parties at home bringing with him boys and girls of his age to the house treathning to kill me if I said a word to his mum.
Matt was there but there was completely nothing he could do about his brothers lousy attitude.
Matt had saved me a few times when his brother had attempted to rape me.

One night, there was sound of loud music coming from the sitting room with guys and girls swooning all over the house doing different sort of things.
I walked to the kitchen while squeezing myself in the crowd just to get a glass of water.
I stopped dead in my track when I heard Andrew's voice from inside.

Guys, there is a fine girl in this house that is refusing to comply with me.
No girl turns me down and goes free cause am sure that she doesn't know who I am.
If only she knows that I am a cultist.The scorpion king.
She calls her self Nana but this night, she would not escape...ha ha ha she will not resist cause her so called savior Matt is not around.

I didn't stop to hear the rest of the conversation I have to flee for my dear life before I become some people's dinner.
For gods sake I thought cultists don't really exist.
Ohh God what did I get myself into.
How come his parents don't know about this?,
Now I am his prey....
God forbid I muttered as I took I short paper and pen to write a short note to Matt narrating all that had happened and to beg him to tell his mom that I have resigned.
I dropped the note in Matt's room and stormed out of the house through the backyard without taking any of my belongings.

I got to the main road only to find out that I lost the little change the was in my pocket.
No time to cry baby I comforted myself and one thing was for sure.
I can't go back in there.

Nana so you think you can run away from me.
You bitch..

I didn't need anyone to tell me it was Andrew.

You lie here Andrew I thought to myself as I removed my shoes and began to run to God knows where but for sure,I was being followed.
Funny enough,it was easy for me to escape because the place was dark.

I kept running from one area to another...I didn't even notice that I was now on another street until I bumped into someone who instantly fell to the ground.

Is it that this guy doesn't have stamina or what..i muttered to myself while I kept running.
The next thing that happened surprised me because I saw myself lying on the bare ground.
I fell down .

The guy I bumped into earlier was laughing mockingly at me.
Don't you have eyes? can't you see?are you drunk?are you insane?he kept throwing his questions at me.

I don't have time to answer you was all I said with my face buried to the ground.
I don't blame him.
I would ask the same question if I saw a young girl running like a mad woman in the night.

I later managed to get to my feet as I noticed blood gushing from my knees.
I also noticed that the guy I bumped into was still standing there and staring at me with wide eyes.

What?I asked with anger in my voice.
Nothing he replied.
Emmmmmm... What I asked him again.
I just want you to allow me flash your face with my phone's torch light so as to be sure I am not conversing with a ghost he replied.

What ever...
But before I said a word, there was bright light flashing my face.

Here is my business card he said handing me a card with a smirk on his face..

I got home,narrated everything to my mum and went straight to bed because I was stressed out.
I threw James's card somewhere I don't know and began to think of the last words he said
"Make sure you call me".
In your dreams James I said a little loud as I closed my eyes.
