Nana's POV.

For the second time again,I  found myself in Mrs okoro's home.
What the hell am I doing here?
I asked myself.
Maybe this woman used juju on me.....if not, why am I in her house?I kept asking myself.
But...but I thought I was hit by a car, so
I am supposed to be in heaven right?I am supposed to be dead.
Staying with Mrs Okoro is no different from dwelling in the pit of hell with the devil himself.

I can't take this
I have suffered enough.
I tip toed out of the sitting room and started heading towards the gate.

Hey where do you think you are going to?will you come back here or else?
Mrs Okoro barked.

I couldn't afford to stop so I ran towards the gate,flung it open and continued to run towards the main road knowing fully well that my so called madam is coming after me.

Again,I didn't notice that a car was coming towards my direction with great speed because I was too busy running for my dear life to notice.

And that's it.i heard a loud thud.
I was lying on the floor in my own blood.
People began to scream and run towards my direction.

Slowly,my eyes began to close, my vision becoming blur.
No no no
I can't die for the second time.
Noooooooo

Nana,Nana someone called out shaking me with strong hands
Nana please open your eyes....it's me your mother.

My mother?I swept my eyes open and behold my mother was right in front of me.
I can't believe this.
I closed my eyes and opened it again.
My mum was standing right in front of me with her hands holding me in both side of my shoulders.
She was smiling and crying at the same time.

I was just confused.
I don't understand what is going on here I said to myself in my mind.
Then it hit me that I am currently on a hospital bed.
I began shifting my head to see if there are any other person's in the room.
Of course ....I sighted my two cousins,my uncle and his wife and two other people I didn't expect to see.

Mima and Nina my two sisters were also there.they all had scared looks on their faces.

There and then,it occurred to me that I was having a dream.
I am niether in heaven,or madam okoro's house.
Not to talk of hell..
God forbid....I cannot afford to suffer on Earth,die and appear in hell fire.no way.

My eyes shifted to my mum who had been there sobbing ever since I opened my eyes she didn't say anything to me just like every other person present there.

Hmm so  my mum and sisters decided to pay me a surprise  visit. All the way from Taraba.

I was very happy to see my mum and sisters.I felt like jumping out of bed to give each and everyone a warm hug but I can't.
No one was saying anything to me so I decided to play dump.

Nana can you hear me?
Nana are you okay?
My mum broke the silence.

Who are you?I asked behaving as if I have never seen her before.
What?
I said who are you and who are this people?I asked pointing to the only family I had.

Ohh my God she doesn't remember me.
It's me your mother my mother started to cry afresh and everyone followed.

Oh shit I hate seeing them cry.
Mum mum I know it's you.
I recognize all of you.
I am just joking I said trying to sit up.
Here let me help you my mum offered.

I clearly remember all of you I emphasised . This time with a smile on my face.

Seriously you do?

Of course I do I replied and everyone came running towards me as we engaged in a group hug.
This feels so good.
I missed my family so much.

We separated from the hug.

Nana why do you like joking even when you are not supposed to be joking?
Juliana broke the silence.

I just wanted to scare you guys I replied.

Scare us by saying you don't remember us? that's not funny..
Do you know how long it would take me to start reminding you about how we first met?
It would have been awkward.

This time around, everyone in the room was staring at Juliana.
What?
Did I say anything wrong?

Instead of you to thank God that she didn't lose her memory, you are here imagining how long it will take you to remind her of how you met?
Juliana are you sure you are not sick in the head?Lisa spoke up.

Juliana is just this weird funny girl.
She starts her drama at anywhere and anytime like a child she doesn't care.
Sometimes I wonder if she even thinks before speaking because apparently,she blurts out whatever she has in mind and I somehow love her for that.

Big sis,I missed you.
I missed you too Mima and Nina chorused as my attention turned back to them.
I missed you guys too I replied while smiling at them.

They were scared.
They thought that their elder sister will never wake up again.
They cried and prayed for you to get better every day since the accident.
God has answered our prayers my mother informed me.

Nana we are so glad you are awake.
You are truly a fighter..
Not everyone can survive what happened to you.
We are so proud of you my uncle said as he and his wife came closer to my bed.

Inform the doctor that she is awake my mother said turning towards my uncle.

Okay he said as he walked out of the room.

So what's the time?I asked
It's 10:am Juliana answered.
10:am? so yesterday was Friday right.
I was brought here yesterday.
Which means today is Saturday.

Everyone was quiet.
Why are you all staring at me like a mad person?I asked.

Because today is Monday
Juliana answered.
Ohh so I have been here for three days?
No Nana you have been here for one week and a few days.

You have been unconscious for many days.
We got more and  more worried each passing day praying that you will finally open your eyes and the miracle happened today.
Do you know that the church even organized prayers and fasting for you to get well?
We took turns coming to stay with you here at the hospital
You know we all can't stay here with you.

Ohhhh was all I could say.
What about my boss?
I asked with anger showing on my face.
She was arrested for child abuse.
Someone reported her to the police Juliana told me.
Who reported her?I asked.
We don't know.we only heard about the arrest Juliana replied.

I just wish the police will deal with her accordingly.

I was about to say something else when my stomach started crying.
Ohh I don't blame the poor thing.
Not eating for a week and some days is not an easy task.

I want to eat.
They turned to each other and started to laugh.
Why are you laughing?I asked.

Nana and food.
Who shall separate Nana from the love of food?
Niether accident nor sickness, niether.......

Juliana just shut up and give me food I cut her amidst her sentence as I started to laugh.
Okay she answered getting to her feet.

She returned with a plate of rice and stew with fish.
Ahhh correct I said as I collected the plate from her.
Will you take five alive?
No just water I replied as I devoured my food without praying.

I turned to my mum and sisters who were discussing about something I have no idea of.
Mom you know that you have allot to tell me right?
I asked.
Yes I know my dear.
We all have enough stories for you but first eat your food before the doctor arrives.

Ehenn I forgot to tell you.
Do you know that a certain girl almost your age had an accident the same day as you?
She was brought a few minutes after  we arrived at hospital.
Too bad.
She died that same day.
Nana you are really a lucky girl.

Ohh the doctor is here.
He spoke to my mum, then my mum signaled with her hands for everyone to move out except me.

Soon enough, the doctor was done with me. He walked out of the room majestically.
From seeing,I know that he loves his job.
He had been smiling since he came in even when he asked me some questions.
He was smiling when he injected me which made me feel less pain.
I don't like doctors and nurses that don't smile.its as if someone is forcing them to do their job.

The door opened and my family walked in.
Nana did he speak to you?.
Juliana asked.
Who?
The doctor of course
Ohh my gosh he is so cute  she whispered in my ear so nobody could hear her.
I smiled at her..
I think I have a crush on him she whispered again.
I know I replied.

Juliana can never change.
She gives me joy, she keeps everyone and everything lively.
No dulling moments with Juliana not even at the hospital.

Nana I think someone is here to see you my uncle announced.
Who is it?I asked.
It's Mrs okoro's husband.

I don't want to see him.

___________________________________This is the longest chapter so far.
Thank God Nana is alive cause Nana without Nana is no Nana🤣🤣🤣🤣 yeah.
