'A warrior rejects the soft life of a kittypet'

Well, for Lemonkit, those rules don't apply.

Lemonkit's always thought forest life was too unfair. So when he discovered a small village not too far away from camp, he was overjoyed. The Twolegs were friendly, feeding him and stroking him whenever he visited. He knew he needed to keep it a secret, but it was too difficult to spill it to his mentor. Soon enough, the whole camp knew. He tried to convince them it was better there, but he eventually stormed off and never returned. He was pronounced dead until Driftwood saw him making dirt with a collar on. The leader often spoke about how he would've been named Lemonstripe if he ever bothered to make it to a warrior.

Aspenkit may have been born healthy, but it all went downhill from there. At the age of 5 moons, he got his first wave of Whitecough. Though the medicine cat thought it perfectly fine, as they had treated him with catmint, waves upon waves of illnesses flooded on him. By his late apprenticeship, he had Whitecough, toothache and joint aches. The clan was positive that he wouldn't make it to warriorhood. And so was he. Eventually, it was his last moon in his apprenticeship, at least it was supposed to be. He was in constant pain, and he hadn't even made it far past the basics in training. He slept through a clan vote: kill him, as he was a waste of medicine herbs and time, or keep him alive. Most of the clan voted for the murder, even Citrusblossom who had been so angry at her legacy being ruined by her two sons. The clan held a ritual (that could be considered rather evil to you and I). They dug a pit in the centre of the camp clearing, filled it with water and beckoned the sick cat forward for what they described as a 'ceremony'. They dunked his head in the water and held it down. Aspenpaw, too weak to fight back, lay limp after a few minutes. Kits later on were told of the myth of Aspenwish, the cat who wished for freedom, then eventually the whole clan were raised to believe that you must give a gift to Aspenwish in the very pit he was killed in or you will gain all his diseases.
