BIG TIME BREAK UP
GABRIELA HAD been in and out of L.A. for about three weeks.
Where was she going?
Gabriela along with Jo (which we'll get to soon) probably had one of the biggest opportunities ever.
To keep the boys (mainly Carlos) off of her back she'd lied about going to Michigan. She had been working on a musical project, not only for herself, but for a huge upcoming movie that had huge faces attached to it.
The producer for the movie had asked for Gabriela personally and how could she say no after that?
The producer had asked for her after he saw that she had written songs for New Town High and Big Time Rush.
So, where was she actually? On a fourteen-hour, one-stop flight to Sydney, Australia.
But currently, Gabriela was walking into the Palm Woods with her suitcases and tote trailing behind her.
After struggling to make it past the first pool door, which wasn't far, her phone rang.
Answering it, she sighed, turning right back around. Why? Apparently, they needed her back to be able to actually record her own song for the movie.
"Oh, hey. The good news is Gabriela is back."
She shut her eyes and winced, she turned and faced the boys.
"Hey." She smiled.
Carlos being the first to approach her and hugging her the others followed suit.
"I would love to hang out but I've got a flight to catch."
"But, you just got here." Carlos said.
"I know, but I should only be gone like... a week?"
"But, Gabriela-"
"I'm sorry. I'm gonna miss my flight, but call me."
She turned and walked off.
Huffing and puffing, Carlos and the others headed to Rocqué Records.
"Dogs, here's is what you're doing to do this week because I say so!" Gustavo shouted.
"Learn the lyrics and listen to the demo track for our next song, Worldwide." Kelly said.
"It's a song about a love torn apart when that special someone moves halfway across the world."
The boys looked at Kendall, "She might not be going!" He said.
Hearing the door opening, Gabriela walked inside and Kelly walked towards her.
Gabriela's plan was to not be noticed by the boys, which obviously didn't work out that way.
"Hey, Gabriela's back, maybe her flight got canceled." Carlos said.
Gabriela's other plan was to let the boys not hear her conversation.
"Kelly, can the conversation be quick? I have a flight to catch."
"Another gig in Australia?"
The boys glanced at each other, "Australia?" Carlos questioned.
"Yes, and I just got here and I'm tired."
Kelly nodded, "We gave the boys the song. Next, Gustavo wants to help him write the next one."
"I've already got tons of draft songs to still write for this movie, do you think that Gustavo can do this on his own?"
"Yeah... yeah. I'll let him know."
"I'm sorry, Kelly."
"No, it's fine. Have a safe flight."
"I'll let the pilot know."
Smiling, Gabriela turned, luggage and all, and left Rocqué Records.
Not long after, Gabriela's phone rang.
"Hello?"
"Why didn't you tell us about the movie?"
She closed her eyes and turned, "I have a flight to catch."
"We checked... it's been delayed." Logan said.
Hanging up the phone, she sighed, "This is the biggest thing for me. My songs can be heard by millions of people... how could I turn that opportunity down?"
"By telling us the truth." Kendall said.
"And how did that turn out the last time? You all were so mad at me because I was writing one song for one band. Now I'm writing multiple songs for one movie." Gabriela said, "That's all I wanted to do."
No said anything.
"You guys are lucky. You got your big break before you knew it. I was struggling for so long and I write songs for you and not everyone knows. Some of the biggest pop singers have some else write their songs and no one appreciates them as much as the actual singer and I get to sing something on my own." She explained, "This is a huge opportunity for me and I wasn't going to let that slip away from me. You may know that my flight was delayed but I don't know when it's going to take off."
Turning away from the boys she made her way (finally) to the airport.
Gabriela sat in a studio in Australia, listening to someone sing the song that she had written for the movie.
Her phone rang and she excused herself from the room.
"I know you're far and I know your busy, but do you think you can spare a few minutes to help me?"
"Shoot."
Kendall sighed, "We all knew about Jo's movie role and she had the opportunity to take it but she decided not to take it because of me. What do I do to get her to go?"
Gabriela peeked inside the room, "Just talk to her, Kendall. I know it's a hard decision, trust me, but she'll make the right decision and do what's best for her."
A silence grew between the two of them.
Wanting the topic of Jo to be over (for now anyway) Kendall spoke.
"How's Australia?"
Gabriela smiled, "Fun, no doubt. Kinda boring because I'm alone, but fun nonetheless."
"You've been doing this for three weeks. How could we not of known?"
"I wanted to tell everyone and the only people who knew were my mom, Kelly, and Gustavo. I like it here though."
Kendall nodded, "I hope you have a great time while your there, but I've gotta go. I have a date with Jo."
"Have fun then. Hope things work out."
"Good luck, Gab."
With that, the two hung up.
Gabriela held her phone to her chest and sighed. Her phone dinged again and when she looked it was a text from Carlos. "Bet the songs are hits. Good luck." It simply said.
Smiling, she rested her head against the wall.
Good luck, Gab.

GABRIELA GROANED as her phone rang in the very early morning.
Lazily grabbing it she answered, "Hello?"
"Did we wake you?" Carlos asked.
"No."
"Yes, we did." Logan muttered, "It's literally four A.M. there."
"Hang up." She heard Kendall say.
He sounded further away from the others.
"No, don't hang up. What's wrong?" She asked.
"No, don't tell her."
Ignoring Kendall, Carlos answered her question, "Jo broke up with Kendall."
Gabriela sat up in bed, "What?"
Carlos threw the phone at Kendall, the four of them quietly argued and the phone went to Katie.
"He went with my plan and tried to get her to go."
"But?"
"But... he was rude. Really rude and they broke up."
"Can I talk to him?"
More of what sounded like faint arguments began and finally Kendall had the phone.
"Hey, you should just go back to sleep... rest up and-"
"Kendall."
Since he did say anything after, the boys along with Katie decided to leave the room to go into their own ways.
"Kendall, are you okay?"
It was obvious to Kendall himself that he did like Gabriela, but he still had a girlfriend who he also liked, so the breakup had bothered him.
"Yeah... I will be." He said.
"Why didn't you just talk to her about it?"
"Katie said it would be easier if I was just rude she would take on the role."
"Katie's wasn't the one dating Jo, was she?"
Kendall let out a heavy sigh.
"Is it too late to talk to her?" Gabriela asked.
"I wouldn't know." He answered, "She's leaving today... for three years."
"If I were you, I would see if she left. If you still like her, Kendall, go and talk to her. Don't let a good thing go."
Don't let a good thing go. But what if it was time for that thing to go?
"Okay, I'll go see if I can find her."
"Great. Good luck, Kendall."
Gabriela removed the phone from her ear and hung up.
She ran her hands over her face and began to get ready for today.

SHE HELD her coffee cup in one hand and her tote in the other and to probably the surprise to everyone, her cup actually had coffee inside.
She walked into the studio and as she walked further into the room she heard another voice singing the song that she was supposed to sing for the movie.
Walking a little faster, she walked into the studio and was instantly faced with the producer.
"What's going on?" Gabriela asked.
"What do you mean?"
"That's my song. The song I was supposed to sing for the movie."
"Who told you that?"
"The agent that called me and told me that you asked for me personally and said that you wanted me to sing a song for the movie."
"I did ask for you personally, but I asked because you've written songs for Big Time Rush. I didn't need your voice. I needed your writing."
She slowly shifted her steps.
"Then you don't need me at all." She said, "If I wrote it you don't need it. I don't want my songs in your movie."
"You don't-"
"But I do." Gabriela said, "My songs will not be in your movie."
"Do you know how close we are to releasing this movie?"
"Do you know how much time I've wasted by coming to Australia for three weeks?" She asked, "You'll find people. You found someone else to sing my song didn't you?"
She didn't wait for a response, she just headed back to the hotel, grabbed her belonging, a booked a flight back to L.A.

WITH JO'S flight taking off and Gabriela in Australia, it was lonely for Kendall.
Jo and Kendall did officially decide to end their relationship.
"Hello?"
He let out a breathy sigh, "Hey, Gab."
"Hey, how'd things go with Jo?"
She sounded exhausted.
"She went, but we did talk."
"How'd that go?"
"As okay as it could've gone. We still decided to end things."
"I'm sorry to hear that."
Kendall only nodded, "How's Australia?"
"Um, as good as a trip to Australia could go."
"Gab?"
"Yeah?"
"What's wrong?"
"Nothing. Hey, Kendall, I've gotta go, I'm gonna miss my flight."
"Flight?"
Before Kendall could ask more questions she hung up her phone.
He huffed and went down into the lobby, he was going to sit and wait for her to come back.

AFTER A fourteen-hour flight, Gabriela finally had gotten to the Palm Woods at two... A.M..
She was not only tired, but she was also very annoyed.
She felt like she was completely dragging her luggage into the Palm Woods like a ton of weight was added to them.
Gabriela officially walked into the lobby of the Palm Woods, not paying much mind to Kendall, who was nose deep into a magazine.
He finally looked up and saw her entering the elevator. He booked it.
He barely made it into the elevator, but he managed to squeeze inside.
Gabriela didn't react, she didn't speak, she only had her back pressed against the elevator.
Kendall didn't want to push the conversation onwards if she wasn't going to say anything about it.
She let out a breath as the elevator dings seemed to go slower and slower.
"Plans changed." She said, "It's frustrating, but plans changed."
"Do you want to talk about it?"
She wiped her eyes, "No."
The elevator finally opened and the two of them walked out.
Heading towards her apartment, as she opened her apartment door, Kendall spoke.
"Whatever happened... you can talk to me about it."
Her back was facing him and she was resting on her doorknob.
"If know you, and luckily I do, I know that they didn't deserve you."
Gabriela gave him a flat smile and hugged him.
"I thought I had the chance." She said.
Kendall hugged her back.
She really thought she had the chance.
um okay
