BIG TIME CAMEO

GABRIELA'S WAS nose deep in her phone, hearing the sound of the boys from the other room.

"Gab."

She looked up and smiled bright.

"You know." Kendall said.

She let out a breath, "I do."

Honestly, the boys were growing tired of doing small tv cameos back to back.

But that's what they had to do.

"Would you like to tell us?" Carlos asked.

"Can't, Gustavo told me to keep my mouth shut."

"In the last week alone, we've done NCSI: Special Animal Unit, Deadliest Cupcake." Logan started.

"And that's super sloppy game show." Carlos pouted, "I can't take another cameo."

"Dogs, I have some big news." Gustavo said.

"Please tell us it's not another cameo."

"I hate all of you!"

"Guys, if we are gonna stay in the spotlight, we need to stay on the radio, magazine covers, and tv." Kelly explained.

"Gustavo, we love you. But we're not gonna leave the studio to do another cameo." Carlos said.

Gabriela sighed and stepped forward, "The shows pretty cool though, and you wouldn't have to go anywhere."

"Huh?"

"You're already in one!" Gustavo smiled.

About six or seven little kids came from one of the rooms and tased each of the boys.

Not exactly what anyone expected.

A WHILE later, the boys, including Katie and Gabriela all sat in the boys' apartment.

Gabriela's head resting in Kendall's lap watching the boys play a video game with Katie.

"Gustavo, no more cameos." Kendall spoke into the phone, "Oh, really?"

Gabriela looked up at him, "Well, then... no more cameos!" He shouted and tossed the phone on the floor.

"What TV show this time?" James asked.

"Coco .O."

Carlos gasped, "You mean the kidzie channel TV show about the girl robot, but only her spunky best friend knows that she's a robot, and if the popular kids found out, she'd be scrapped for parts?"

"That's the one."

"A lot of our fans worship that show." James said.

"And the robot who plays Coco... oh-ho, she's amazing." Carlos smiled.

"The actress, right?" Gabriela questioned.

"Actress." He whispered.

"Um, but we all agreed no more cameos." Kendall said.

"Okay, but before you say no, just watch a little bit of the show."

Hearing the sounds from the show play through the TV only brought a smile to Carlos' face.

"I love her."

"I am not doing another dangerous cameo because Carlos is in robot love." Kendall said, "So somebody else give me another reason why we should do it."

"I'm pretty sure you wouldn't be doing anything dangerous." Gabriela said, "Besides, this would give Carlos the chance to talk to a girl without being forced."

Kendall looked down at her and back up at the boys, a pout placed on Carlos' face.

"Darn it."

"OKAY, HERE'S the set where Coco gets you to perform at the school dance."

They had arrived on set with Katie in tow.

"Oh, they're finishing a scene now."

The scene wasn't long, soon a bell rang throughout and the cut was called.

"And here comes America's sweetheart, Dara Laramie."

Dara smiled, "Hi, guy. I can't believe you're gonna do my show."

"Well, they are very glad to be-"

Each boy pushed Carlos forward, "Here's Carlos."

He began to stumble over his own words.

"Back it up, boy band. Dara is not looking for a boyfriend. Dara, learn your lines for the next scene now."

"Yes, ma'am."

With that, both Dara and the lady were gone.

"Oh, who's evil stepmother?" Kelly asked.

"Her evil stepmother."

"Oh."

"She runs Dara's career and the show with an iron fist. Do not cross her." The other actress said before walking off.

"Huh, thought she'd be spunkier." Logan thought.

"Okay, focus." Carlos said, "How do I kiss Dara?"

Gabriela furrowed her brows, "You can't."

"Not with that attitude."

"Isn't it obvious, Prince not-so-Charming?" James questioned.

"Well, yeah, you find your glass slipper. Don't eat the apple, though. Make sure you have her home before midnight. And bippity-boppity-boo, evil stepmother spell is broken." Kendall explained.

"Then you remember that this is real life." Gabriela added.

"It's a great plan, let's go." Carlos smiled.

"What? I was kidding."

Carlos grabbed their wrist of both Kendall and Gabriela and headed off to figure out how he would officially start his plan.

The three of them stood in front of a prop wall looking onto the set.

"We need to find Dara so that you can talk to her, get to know her more as a person and less like a robot." Gabriela explained.

"Tell her you love the show and talk more about it over smoothies." Kendall added.

"I would love to do that." Carlos smiled.

"Carlos."

The sound of his name caused the three of them to look and see Dara standing there.

"Hi."

"Hello." She smiled and spoke in her robot voice.

Carlos could only laugh.

"I have to admit, I was really excited when I heard you were coming on the show." Dara said.

Carlos only smiled, "Good start, Carlos." Gabriela said.

Kendall rested his hands on Carlos' shoulders, "Now make a date with beauty before the beast comes in."

The words couldn't have fallen out his mouth any slower because her stepmother stood right behind Dara.

"Dara, perhaps I didn't make myself clear. I don't want you anywhere near Big Time Rush again. To your makeup trailer now."

"Yes, ma'am."

Dara's stepmother approached the three, "Listen here, loverboy." Her attention directed towards Kendall, "Yeah, I thought I told you to stay away from Dara."

Gabriela smiled, "I'm actually loverboys girlfriend. We just want to get this loverboy, Carlos, to talk to Dara."

"I'm not just Dara's stepmom. I'm also her manager and according to her last post to her fourteen million fans, her total bestie." She smiled, "And if I decide to let her have a boyfriend or use her kiss chip, it will be on a boy named Bieber or Lautner, not you."

"She should be able to date whoever she wants." Carlos said.

"Wrong! And if I see you flirting her again, I will have you removed from the lot for harassing America's TV sweetheart." Her full attention on Kendall.

"Y- you mean me, not him."

"Go."

Gabriela stood her ground.

"And you-"

"And you." Gabriela repeated, "We're gonna get Carlos that date, because why not, but you should really listen to people, because maybe Dara's ready to date, anyone but Kendall, because once again, that's my boyfriend, but sure, ready to date nonetheless." She smiled.

Gabriela was gonna get Carlos this date.

Awhile later Gabriela and Kendall hid behind a rack of basketballs directing Carlos on where he needs to be as he was hiding underneath a table.

"This is not gonna work." Gabriela whispered.

"Why not?" Kendall asked.

"Because Dara's talking a bowl of jello."

"Come on, this should work."

But it didn't. Failing almost immediately.

"Let go of me, you wicked witch."

"Dara, give me your phone."

She was reluctant at first, but gave her phone to her stepmother anyway.

"And everyone leave the floor now."

"Okay, guys let's wrap it up. You heard her." Kendall said.

Hoping to make a quick exit, the three of them quickly turned.

"Not you three. "Big Time Rush I'm set making me big-time cry. Called me names and said whoever watched Coco .O is stupid.""

"You can't do that." Carlos said.

"Yes, I can, and when her fourteen million followers hear how you made America's TV Princess cry, you'll be crying, 'cause your careers will be over." She laughed.

"Stop. Don't do it." Dara said, "I promise never to talk to Carlos again, just don't ruin Big Time Rush."

"No, she can press it. I don't care." Carlos said.

"Shut up." Kendall muttered.

"You're lucky I'm in a good mood." Her stepmother said, handing the phone back, "Do not give me another reason to destroy you."

"Goodbye, Carlos."

Once the two were out of sight, Carlos spoke, "Okay, what's our next move?"

"I'll tell you the next move is." Kendall smiled, "I'm gonna kick your-"

Gabriela placed her hand over Kendall's mouth, "We'll figure something out, okay?"

A couple of minutes had passed and Carlos, Kendall, and Gabriela stood behind a clothing rack.

"Oh, tell me that isn't a love note." Kendall sighed.

"It's not." Carlos answered.

"Then what is it?" Gabriela asked.

"It's a love plane." He smiled.

"It's too risky." Kendall said, "And besides, you stink at paper airplanes."

"But love is my co-pilot."

"Carlos, I don't think that's a good idea." Gabriela said.

He threw the airplane anyway, causing it to land right in Dara's stepmother's hair.

"Ugh, I hate cameos." Kendall sighed.

""My dearest Dara, it's me, Carlos. Let me help save you from your evil stepmom. I think our kids will help be free you from her evilness, man, she's evil. Well, bye."" She read, "I told you to stay away."

"You know what?" Kendall questioned, "You can't keep them apart, because we're in the next scene with her, and there is no one else to sing. Now, what do you think about that?"

"Lindsay, tell the writers to change the next scene so that Big Time Rush never shows up to the dance, but Coco uses her music chip to sing a-rockin' song launching Dara's music career, but ending Big Time Rush's."

"I hate TV." Gabriela muttered.

The three of them walked into the writers' room seeing Katie, Kelly, and Gustavo surrounding their screens.

"Dara's stepmom is evil, and she's trying to ruin us with Dara's phone, followers, and scripts." Kendall said.

"We have to join forces to end her evil reign over this land and set Dara free with my kiss."

"He knows we're not in a colorful world of make-believe, right?" Kelly asked.

"We just roll with it." Gabriela answered.

"Hey," James said, walking in with Logan, "we just did a Yo Gabba- cameo."

"What's going on here?" Logan asked.

"We're doing a little rewrite so Big Time Rush rocks the stage and rocks Coco .O." Katie answered.

FILMING WITH the boys had started and soon enough, Dara's stepmother also came.

"Who is responsible for this? I control Dara. I tell her what to eat, what to say, and who to kiss. I'm the boss, alright, if you, and everyone who watches this stupid show. Got it?"

"Yeah, I got it." Gabriela said, weaving her way to the front, "Got it all on Dara's phone with fourteen million followers."

"Where did you get Dara's phones?"

"Lindsay's cool. Monotoned, but cool."

"And if you don't want us to send this out to Dara's fourteen million followers exposing you as an evil witch who treats America's TV sweetheart like a prisoner." Kendall started.

"You're going to apologize to your stepdaughter right now and promise to treat her differently." Carlos said.

"Because with one simple push, your career is over." Gabriela smiled.

"What I meant to say was, Dara is growing up and can make her own decisions, and Carlos seems like a nice boy, so why doesn't the best tv crew and cast ever just, you know, keep rolling?"

"I guess your kids really did set her free." Kendall said.

"Told ya."

"Good job, Carlos." Gabriela said.

"Okay, let's shoot the dance scene."

GABRIELA PAUSED her tv, "Not so bad for a kids' show." Lucy said.

"Remind me to never work with Big Time Rush for TV shows, because I tried the live TV and that was horrible and this was no exception."

A knock on the door stopped their conversation. Gabriela stood up and answered the door, each boy dressed as someone different, and Lucas Cruikshank with them also.

"Want to go to the pool?" Kendall asked.

"If there a reason for any of this?" She asked.

"Any of what?" Carlos questioned.

"Okay, sure I'll go to the pool."

At this point, not shocked Gabriela anymore, but hey, it was alright.
