strikeout
BIG TIME STRIKE
GABRIELA STOOD outside the recording booth with Kelly and Gustavo as the boys sang their new song.
Apparently, Gustavo did not like it and pushed a button, causing the boys to be shocked.
"What was that?" James asked.
"You were off-key."
"No! The shocking floor thing!" Kendall shouted.
"Oh, that's my new studio shock system." Gustavo said, "It's going to help me train you dogs through negative reinforcement. That way, BTR's second album will be even greater than the first."
"So, shocking them is going to make the entire album better?" Gabriela asked, "Just like that?"
"That's not fair."
Gustavo pushed the button again.
"Back talk bad. Now, Griffin wants a new song tomorrow, and my sliver friend here is gonna help us get there."
"Kelly!"
"Guys, normally, I would totally object to this abuse. We really need that song fast."
"Gustavo, we know the second album is important." Kendall said.
"Yes, and we know that we have to work out butts off." Carlos added.
"Yes, so try trusting us." James said.
"Instead of shocking us."
"Hmm, let me think about it." Gustavo said.
He quickly pushed the button.
Time after time again, the button was pushed.
Kendall huffed, "Push that button one more time..."
"And we'll do that thing where workers walk off, and hold up signs, and chant rhyming demands." James said.
"It's called a strike." Gabriela said.
"That!"
"Oh, what, this button? This little button right here?"
He shocked them again and officially Big Time Rush was going on strike.

GABRIELA WALKED inside the boys' apartment.
"Gabriela, you're going to help Kendall and Carlos negotiate with Gustavo."
Katie handed her the list.
Gabriela scanned the list, "He's not going to give you all this stuff."
"But it's worth a shot." Carlos said.
"Worth a shot if you want to be yelled at and quite frankly I'm sick of Gustavo yelling at me, so I'm all in for the strike, but an ice cream sundae bar is one thing you're not going to get."
"He's yelling at you too?" Kendall asked.
Gabriela nodded, "I've got to proofread the songs he writes so they make some sense, I've been drinking out of this same coffee mug for weeks and it's actually full of coffee."
"You hate coffee." Carlos said.
"I know, but at this rate, I have to drink it to keep up with what Gustavo wants."
"Okay," Kendall said and stood up, "let's go back and show Gustavo what we really want."

GUSTAVO READ off the list of demands with Kelly.
"Meet these demands and get rid of your shock system, and BTR will return to the studio and begin working on our second album." Kendall said.
Gustavo held the list close, "Hmm."
He then pushed the button to shock the two boys.
"Playing hardball, huh?" Kendall questioned, "Well, two can play that game. Carlos... do your thing."
"Right." Carlos said, he leaned over towards Kendall, "What's my thing?" He whispered.
"Muscle of the operation."
Carlos still stood in place.
"Well, break his mug to scare him to prove that we're serious." Kendall said.
"But we bought him that mug, it's his favorite."
Gabriela pulled her chair closer to Gustavo's desk.
"You want the boys to treat you with respect and to get the album done right?" She asked, "That's not going to happen until you get rid of your shock floor."
"Let me help you move these negotiations along, okay?" Gustavo said.
He grabbed the list and ripped it into pieces.
They heard shouting from the outside.
"What's that noise?" Gustavo asked.
Rushing to the window, Kelly and Gustavo saw Logan and James protesting down below, which quickly ended when they began hitting each other with their signs.
Kendall and Carlos ran down to stop it.
"This isn't doing anything." Gabriela said.
Gustavo faced her.
"She's right." Kelly said.
"They aren't going to stop protesting until they get what they want, which is to get rid of everything that shocks and at least a thirty-minute break along with all the yelling." Gabriela explained.
"I don't yell!"
"If we don't get this under control we won't have a new song for the second album." Kelly said.
"They started it!"
"Yeah, but did you have to shock them?"
"Yes... maybe not... fine." Gustavo said, "Just get the dogs up here and we can settle this."
Gustavo and Kelly stood on one side of the table and Kendall, Gabriela, Logan, Carlos, and James all stood on the other.
"Hi, Kelly." Carlos whispered.
She waved back.
"Stop being nice, you're the muscle." Kendall said.
"But I miss her, and I miss singing."
"You can't tell them that." Logan said.
"I taped back together with your demands, and if Big Time Rush agrees to get back in the studio right now, I will stop most of the shocking."
Kelly hit him.
"All of the shocking."
"And our other demands?" James asked.
"Guys, your other demands are ridiculous." Kelly said, "You know we can't have a petting zoo in the studio."
"They sound scared." James whispered.
"They sound logical." Gabriela said.
She looked at the list again, "You definitely get that done."
"Why?" Carlos asked.
"Because it doesn't exist."
"I am not scared of you."
James flipped his sign, which read, "Yes you are."
"Don't you push it."
"Please don't push it." Gabriela whispered.
"Here we go." Kelly said.
"Gustavo, we both know that I'm wearing a tie, and we also know that Griffin wants a new song for Big Time Rush tomorrow." Kendall said.
"And we're Big Time Rush, which means... where's my hair salon?" James asked.
"And I'm Gustavo Rocqué, which means I can have anyone record the new song, work my magic on the soundboard, and just tell Griffin it's your dogs."
"Is that a threat?" Kendall asked, "Because we can be threatening too. Carlos show him."
Carlos grabbed the mug, "You see this? You can't have it back until you're nicer to us."
Gabriela took a deep breath and groaned.
As Gustavo picked up the phone and called the talent agency to send groups of boys over to Rocqué Records.
"Oh, yeah, good luck with that." Logan said.
"Because they'll never get past our picket line." James said.
"If the picket line is here and the entrance is down there, who is actually stopping anyone from coming inside?" Gabriela asked.
As they ran downstairs Katie appeared to bring them sandwiches... mustard sandwiches.
She also held out a water bottle and the water inside began to shake as what appeared to be hundreds of boys coming into Rocqué Records.
They were able to fend them off as Katie came out with a chainsaw, with no chain of course.
"So, what happens now?" Carlos asked.
"I'll tell you what happens now." Kendall said, "Gustavo starts sweating, "Oh, I'm Gustavo, and I'm sweating dogs."."
"Then Griffin calls, "Hello, Gustavo, I'm weird and rich, and where's my new song?"." Logan said.
"And then Gustavo calls us up, and gives in to all of our demands, and strike over." James added.
"Not all demand, maybe two." Gabriela said.
"All we need are sandwiches that are tasty... and not terrifying."
"Hey, I made those sandwiches." Katie said.
"And don't ever do that again." Logan said.
"Okay, mom is on strike too, and frankly, she's overreacting and overstating her job description."
"Well, frankly, Mama makes a great sammich." Kendall said, "Now, go back to the Palm Woods, just admit that you're wrong, and have her whip out five turkey and cheese, with lettuce and mayo?"
Katie sighed and began walking off, "Ooh, and grab my new white jacket." James asked, "It's uh, it's chilly."
"Fine."
"So, you can easily tell Katie that's she's wrong in the situation, but you four aren't?" Gabriela asked.
"Because we aren't." Kendall said.
"You're half right." She said, "Yes, the shock floor and all the yelling is wrong and he shouldn't do it, but all your demands are overstretches."
Kendall's phone rang, "It's Gustavo."
"He probably misses his mug." Carlos said.
Soon they were back upstairs with Gustavo and Kelly.
"So, I assume you've decided to meet all of our demands, and we accept." Kendall said.
"Close." Gustavo said, "You're fired."
"What?"
"You can't fire us. We're Big Time Rush." Logan said.
"Yeah, and you can't make a second Big Time Rush album without Big Time Rush."
"And you can't fire Gabriela because she's the one who proofreads what mistakes you have and makes them better." Kendall said.
Gabriela rests her hand on his shoulder.
"She's not fired. You guys are." Gustavo said, "I am Big Time Rush. I own half of the songs. I own the studio. I own your likeness, and I can make the album without you. You lose, I win. Strike over."
"Carlos, time to flex a little big-time muscle." Kendall said.
Carlos pulled the mug out, "Check it. You're not gonna get your mug back."
"I don't need it. I got a new one."
"Gustavo, let's talk about this." Kelly said.
"No. The time for talk is over. You got greedy. You pushed me, and now you got fired."
"Yeah?" James questioned, "Well, we're not leaving. What do you think of that?"
"I think we should try setting five."
____________________
"I DON'T like- setting number five." James said.
The group of five had made it back to the boys' apartment.
"I can't believe Gu- stavo beat up." Logan said, "We had all the cards."
"And now we're not gonna be able to sing on our second album." Carlos said, pacing behind the couch.
He turned and broke the table in half.
"Oh, now you get all muscley- ee?"
"You know I can't control it."
"We are not beaten yet." Kendall said, "Because we have something Gustavo doesn't."
"Hair."
"A soul."
"His coffee mug."
"Our fans." Kendall said, "And they want us, not... not us. We also have Gabriela, just in case."
"I smell a plan."
"We are going to make a music video, upload it to the web, our fans are going to see it, rise up, and Gustavo will come crawling back to the negotiating table."
"Most of your songs already have a music video, what are you going to do?" Gabriela asked.
"Gustavo also owns the name of the band and all of our performance clothes." James said.
Katie walked in with the laundry basket in her hands.
"We can use our own clothes." Carlos said.
"Yeah, about the clothes..."
"One more small problem." Logan said, Gustavo and Gabriela also own every Big Time Rush song."
"And I can't give you permission unless Gustavo also gave the okay." She said.
"They don't own every song." Kendall said.
They performed the Gaint Turd song for Katie and Gabriela.
"No." Gabriela said.
"Our fans will not rise up." Carlos pouted.
"Yeah, but they might throw up." Logan said.
"Everything is pink!"
"Hey, being a mom is hard work, okay?" Katie said.
Ms. Knight walked inside, "What was that?"
"I admit it." Katie said, "Your job is super hard, and we need our chief, chauffeur, seamstress, housekeeper, tutor, nurse, referee, and laundry scientist mom back."
"Deal."
"We also may need a big-little favor from you." Gabriela said, "We just need a really good negotiator."
They all headed back to Rocqué Records and sat with Kelly and Gustavo.
"In exchange for the boys ending their strike, you promise no more shock system, one thirty-minute break a day, no more yelling a Gabriela for help, and give them a little respect for all the hard work they've given you." Ms. Knight said.
"No more shock system." Gustavo said, "They can have their break. No more yelling at Gabriela, but no respect."
Gabriela grabbed the mug and slammed it on the table causing it to shatter.
"I think we deserve that respect. I mean, it's not like I had five coffees this morning, just so I could get songs finished." She smiled.
"Okay, they can have respect."
"Moms are good negotiators." Katie said.
"So... we have a deal?" Kelly asked.
Ms. Knight stuck her hand out, "What? No contract?" Gustavo asked.
"Like it or not, Gustavo, we are a family, and there are no contacts needed between family."
She stuck her hand out once again and Gustavo shook it.
"The strike is over."
"Which means we need to get back to work, so get in the booth so we can get started on our second album."
The boys performed their song for Griffin, who loved it.
"The song sounds great, fellas." Griffin said, "And your second album is going to be even bigger than your first, but I also want this album out faster than your first, so get your little superstars back into the studio and records another big-time hit."
"Um, Griffin, it's been a long couple of days for us here." Kelly said, "And we promised the boys a thirty-minute break, so..."
"And I say no breaks, because I own all of you, and I'm not leaving this couch until I get my next song."
"Oh, playing hardball, huh?" Ms. Knight asked.
"Yes, I love playing hardball, so come on. Give me everything you've got."
"Okay."
Pushing the button it shocked Griffin.
"Okay, let's give the boys a break."

LUCY DIDN'T get it.
Something about Kendall and Gabriela was off. Not it a bad way, just off.
It became evident that Kendall liked Gabriela and the same goes vise versa.
So, when Lucy looked over her balcony and saw Kendall and Gabriela sitting poolside... it stuck out to her.
Lucy hadn't been here long and knew that Gabriela was stuck to the hip with Kendall.
Kendall knew how he felt, he knew what he wanted, and he knew that it was going to be hard for him to pursue if he didn't man up and say or do anything about it.
Kendall could only hope that he could man up and figure out how to tell Gabriela that he liked her.
