single life
BIG TIME SINGLE
GABRIELA HAD been in a funk since Australia and still hadn't really talked to anyone about it.
Kendall was moping around because of Jo.
Gustavo... couldn't tell you. Once he found out Griffin needed a song he did ask Gabriela for help but for the first time in a long time, she turned the offer down.
So, having three people in a funk was not very ideal for anyone.
The three boys including Kendall, all went to Gabriela's apartment.
Kendall was laying on the ground, groaning and moaning.
"Gabriela will know what to do." Carlos said.
He knocked on the door and it took a minute for her to open it, but when she did, it was a sight to see.
Her hair up in a very messy bun, her outfit looked as if she had worn it multiple days on end, and the jacket Kendall gave her was hanging off her shoulders.
"You're not the guy who's supposed to bring my ice cream."
"What happened to you?" James asked.
It caused Logan to hit him in the back of his head.
"What do you guys want?" She asked.
"Kendall's sad because of Jo and Gustavo... is sad, and we wanted to know if you could help us?" Carlos asked.
"We just need to get Kendall out his funk and maybe you could help Gustavo out with the song." Logan said.
"Look, guys, I'm tired and I wish I could help, but I don't think today's the best day."
As she began to shut the door, Carlos put pressure on it.
"Hey," Carlos said, "what's going on?"
His face was in the crack of her door, the others probably couldn't even hear what she was saying.
"It's just a lot right now, okay?"
Carlos was probably the only one who knew Gabriela had gotten out of New Town High due to the fact she was writing songs for the new movie.
Obviously, Carlos didn't know she was doing the movie, but she was out of New Town High and right now, out of a job.
"You know you can talk to us." Carlos said, "Especially me."
She gave him a small smile, "I'll see you later, Carlos. Sorry I couldn't help."
With that, she shut the door.
Carlos huffed, "Okay, now we have three people to make happy."

GABRIELA, SURPRISINGLY, made her way to the lobby. She was still dressed as she was when the boys came to her apartment.
She walked right past the boys and they took notice.
They quickly popped in front of her.
"Hey." They smiled.
Gabriela didn't say a word.
"How's our favorite girl?" Carlos asked.
"Look, I'm just trying to get my ice cream."
"Gabriela, we can't help you if we don't know what's wrong?" Logan said.
"We knew you came back early from your trip."
Gabriela was not a huge crier, she did not do it often, but guess what? She was jobless, she could possibly get kicked out of the Palm Woods because she was doing absolutely nothing.
"I just want my ice cream."
She walked off and the three boys looked back at her.
"Someone has to know something." Carlos said.
The three of them looked back at Kendall who was laying on the ground in front of the hockey goal.
"What do you know?" James asked.
"Nothing." He muttered, "She wouldn't tell me, she only came back late in the night."
They first decided to try and get Kendall out of his funk, that didn't work.
They were back in their respective apartment looking at Kendall laying on the couch.
"This isn't working." James said, "He's still sad and Gabriela is, at this point, not here helping!"
Kendall finally sat up on the couch. He explained that they wouldn't understand what it would be like to be heartbroken.
What did the boys do with that information?
They were gonna get their own hearts broken.
But first, Gabriela.
Making their way back to her apartment, where she hopefully was, Logan knocked on the door, which slowly opened up.
Peeking inside, they saw her sleeping on her loveseat and... it was something inside.
It was only a couple of days, and her apartment was... a sight.
"We shouldn't go inside." Logan said.
"Do you see the state she's in?" Carlos asked, "We're going in... we've just got to be silent."
They walked in and quickly shut the door behind them.
"Look for anything that could help." Carlos whispered.
Separating, they all went to look for something that could help them figure why Gabriela was the way she was currently.
Logan looked down and saw a piece of paper that presumably fell from her fridge.
Picking it up and reading it, he sighed. He walked towards Carlos and showed him.
It simply read, look for a new job... acting something.
"What happened with the movie?" Carlos asked.
That's when her phone rang.
Not knowing where to hide, Carlos and Logan hid behind her loveseat and James dashed behind the kitchen counters.
She woke up, kinda groggy, she held her phone the phone to her ear, "Hello?"
The conversation to the boys was very faint, especially to James.
"Mom, I don't know what I'm going to do." Gabriela sat up and rubbed her eyes, "I was basically doing free work for that movie and they ripped me from singing my own song in the movie and gave it to someone else. I can't go back to New Town High."
She stood up and headed towards her bedroom and shut the door behind her.
As soon as it shut the boys left her apartment.
"Okay, first things first, Gabriela obviously is upset because of the movie." Carlos said, "She, from what it sounds like, was played."
"Now that we have that information, let's go get our hearts broken."

GABRIELA, ONCE again, found herself on the couch.
She heard a rapid knock on her door and when she answered it she saw Logan standing there.
"Look, we know you're sad, but we really need your help."
"I can't help you, Logan, I'm sorry."
"I wouldn't personally know what you've been through but you can't shut us out." He said, "We want to help you before you help us."
Debating it, she let him inside and he sat on the stool in front of her kitchen counters.
"I know you guys were in here."
"What? No- no we-"
"You guys slam doors often." Gabriela said, "You guys got it easy. I don't want to be an actor, I might be good at it but I don't want to do it. I love writing songs for you guys, but what recognition do I get for writing them? Yeah, I got paid for it, but I know Gustavo and you guys got more than what I did because people know you. I don't have a job anymore and if I can't find one that I actually enjoy... I'm going back to Michigan."
Logan was kinda at a loss. Yes, Gabriela wrote songs for them, but no one really gave her the recognition that she wholeheartedly deserved.
"What do you need help with?" Gabriela asked.
"I wanted to help you first."
"There's not much you or any of the boys can do unless you can get me a job." She laughed, "What do you need help with?"
"Griffin has given Gustavo another day to write a summer song for us with at least the word beach in it."
Gabriela nodded and grabbed the book off the ground.
"Give me a beat."
"Okay, uh-"
Giving her a good enough beat, Gabriela began quickly writing.
"Okay, so, I've got at least the first verse and your part, but Gustavo gonna have to come up with the chorus." She said, "Your summer song is officially called If I Ruled The World and the word beach can surely be added somewhere."
"You're gonna give Gustavo this song yourself, but first, you've gotta shower."
Rolling her eyes, she pushed the book forward, "If you come up with any ideas, just write it down, I'll be back."
He watched walked into her bedroom.
Though the two of them weren't as close as Kendall and Carlos, but she has done above and beyond what they've even asked her to do.
So, pulling out his phone, he made sure Gabriela was gonna make it in the Hollywood business.

LOGAN LEFT Gabriela's apartment and left her a message telling her to come to his place.
She knocked on the door, freshly dressed, hair done, and smelling nice.
The door opened and she walked inside.
Logan walked towards and rested his hands on her shoulders, "Gabriela wrote part of an amazing song for us and it's called If I Ruled the World. The only thing is, is that Gustavo has to write the chorus."
Gabriela pulled the folded paper from her back pocket and handed it to Gustavo.
He read over what she had and smiled, "This is great. I know exactly what I can do with this."
The cheers were going around the room, she looked around, Kendall looked better than what he had before, and apparently, James and Carlos were better according to Logan.
But, James brought Jo back up and there Kendall was... laying on the couch again.
"He's been in and out of it all day. You're probably the last person who could help us." Logan said.
She took a breath and sat down on the couch.
Kendall looked up at her.
Yes, he and Jo broke up. Yes, he did like Gabriela, but of course, he did still like Jo, and breaking up with her still made him feel some type of way.
"Jo wouldn't like you moping around like this, both you and I know that." Gabriela said, "Being hung up on something you can't control is gonna bring you down extremely and we can't have a sad Kendall now can we?"
Kendall laid there for another moment before sitting up.
"Let's go sing the song."

SINGING THE song in the studio with the presents of Griffin, he applauded the song.
After that, Gabriela was getting ready to head out.
"Gabriela."
She turned and saw Griffin standing before her.
"Yes?"
"Got a message today. Heard you were looking for a job."
"I guess I am."
"I'll make you an offer." Griffin said, "You keep writing songs like that. You'll get paid the same amount of royalties as Gustavo."
Gustavo made, at max, five times more than what Gabriela was when she was writing songs for the boys.
"Who told you?" She asked.
"Logan." He answered, "So, would you like a job?"
He stuck his hand out.
She glanced at it and quickly shook his hand.
"Glad to have you onboard Ms. Machado."
"Glad to be here."
With that Griffin walked off.
Gabriela had officially owed Logan her entire life.
these back to back updates are wonderful
