BIG TIME ROCKER

GABRIELA WAITED outside the Palm Woods for her new roommate to arrive.

She met Lucy through the internet and when the two of them found out that one lived at the Palm Woods and the other was moving to the Palm Woods, why not just room together.

Lucy was also two years older than Gabriela.

Now that Gabriela had a roommate she had to clean out the spare bedroom she had for guests to say in.

That guest being her mother.

Overall Lucy liked Gabriela, Gabriela liked Lucy, and Gabriela's mother liked Lucy.

Lucy exited the taxi and approached Gabriela.

"Hey." Gabriela smiled and hugged Lucy.

Gabriela handed Lucy the spare room key and the two of them headed to the elevator.

Lucy pushed the button and the elevator and the boy's exit the elevator.

The two girls entered the elevator and turned facing the boys who stared.

"They do that." Gabriela said as she pushed the button and the doors shut.

GABRIELA, AFTER helping Lucy out, headed to the pool and sat beside Kendall.

"Hey."

"Hey."

"How's everything?"

"The same."

Gabriela held a tight smile, "What's wrong?"

"Nothing's wrong. Why'd you ask?"

Gabriela sat up in her seat and faced him, "What do you want to know about her?"

"Know about who?"

Gabriela gave him a look, "I saw how you were looking at her. I was there."

"I know what I already need to know."

Gabriela stood up and slapped Kendall's legs. He moved them over and she sat down.

"She's pretty cool." Gabriela said, "Her music taste is very different than mine, but we definitely get along."

"How'd you meet her?"

"Found her on the internet." She answered, "We're obviously two different people, different taste and all, but she's really cool once you get to know her."

Lucy walked over and sat across from Gabriela and Kendall.

"Hey."

Kendall didn't speak, he only nodded her way.

"What's the matter, can't talk to me?" Lucy asked.

He shook his head no.

"Why is that?" Gabriela asked.

Kendall pointed towards James and Carlos who were walking over.

"Hello there." James smiled, "It's Lucy, isn't it? Welcome to the Palm Woods."

"We are two eligible bachelors, ready, and willing to be eligible." Carlos said.

"And know that you can- and are encouraged to- choose one of us as your new boyfriend." James said.

Kendall gave them a thumbs up and Gabriela let out a breathy laugh as she smiled at them.

Lucy faced Gabriela, "They did this to you?"

"James did, it's an on and off thing."

Lucy stood up, "Let me save you some time. Eeny, meeny, miny, no."

"Was that a no to me or a no to him?" Carlos asked.

"Ahem, perhaps you don't know who we are." James said.

"You're Big Time Rush. You're on Rocqué Records. You have one album out, and your music is... cute."

"She said we're cute!" Carlos smiled.

Kendall stood up, "No, she said our music is cute."

Gabriela joined, standing next to Lucy.

"It is cute. It's catchy and danceable, but just doesn't rock."

"We rock."

"Um, no talk to girl, 'member. You've already stolen Gabriela." He whispered.

"In fact, we're working on a new album right now which totally rocks because we rock and our songwriter" Kendall said and pulled Gabriela on their side, "rocks."

"Tell you what. You go to your studio bring me back some of your new tracks, and we'll see if they rock. Which they won't." Lucy said.

Kendall huffed, "Remember: No talky to girl."

Gabriela walked off first and Kendall followed.

She now had to head to her room and Rocqué Records so Kendall could make a point he probably couldn't prove at this exact moment.

"You write amazing songs." Kendall said, "She doesn't know what she's talking about."

As much as Gabriela loved hanging out with Kendall, he hadn't realized by talking a little too much caused Lucy to hurt Gabriela's feelings in the process.

"Kendall, Lucy's opinion shouldn't matter."

The two of them walked into Gabriela's now shared apartment as she gathered everything she needed.

"Our music rocks. You work so hard on it, so her opinion should matter especially since she's your roommate."

Gabriela faced Kendall, "Her opinion does matter, but I write pop songs for a pop band and she wants to be a rockstar."

"Gab," Kendall said and placed his hands on his shoulder, "you are crazy talented and that doesn't surprise anyone, but we're going to prove Lucy wrong and show her that not only does Big Time Rush rock, but so does Gabriela Machado."

Gabriela held her breath, "Okay."

Kendall smiled and grabbed her bag and ran out of the room.

Gabriela slowly followed out. She didn't know what it was, but it was something about Kendall that she really couldn't figure out.

The two of them arrived at Rocqué Records and saw Kelly and Gustavo sitting in the studio.

"Hey, so there's this new girl at the Palm Woods who said that Big Time Rush, does not rock, and I say we do rock, so I need the new track to prove it." Kendall said.

"First of all, my name is Gustavo Rocqué, not Gustavo doesn't rock."

"Well, according to every music magazine, BTR is a pop dance group. So in a way, she's kind of right." Kelly said.

"I told you that." Gabriela said, "So, can we just forget what she said and do what we do best."

"Well, they're wrong too!"

"And I will prove it by playing you a sampling of my new rockin' track Pair of Eyes." Gustavo said.

The sampled played.

"That doesn't rock." Kendall said.

"Not even close."

"It's actually kind of sad." Gabriela added.

"We totally rock, okay?" Gustavo said.

Kelly, Gustavo, Kendall, and Gabriela all stood in the studio. Each one standing in front of a microphone and holding a guitar.

"Okay, operation turn Pair of Eyes into a-rockin' song is underway." Gustavo said.

"We record it, then I show the rocker girl- and the world- that Big Time Rush rocks." Kendall said.

Kelly sighed, "Okay, guys I think you're overreacting. Also, I don't know how to play the guitar."

"Does it really matter what one or thousand of people think?" Gabriela asked, "So what? You're a pop band."

The amps were turned up and as soon as their hands touched the guitars, it was completely and utterly useless.

"Fine!" Kendall shouted, "I'll prove that we rock the old-fashioned way."

He grabbed a guitar, an amp, and Gabriela's hand and headed back to the Palm Woods.

On the way up to Gabriela's, once again, jointed apartment Kendall plugged the guitar into the amp.

Gabriela on the other hand had her back against the wall and had the lyrics that Gustavo had come up with for Pair of Eyes.

Kendall knocked on the door and Lucy opened it.

"Hey." She smiled, "Did you come here to not talk to me some more?"

"I came here to show you that we rock."

He strummed his guitar as Gabriela was focused on what to write down next.

"Nice chord progression, and very cute amp."

"Cute?" Kendall questioned, "That rocked."

"Try an E-B-C-G"

She pushed the boxes away showing a bigger amp along with her guitar.

"That rocked."

Lucy smiled and shut the door.

Gabriela looked up and saw Kendall staring at the door.

She stepped in front of him, "I'm fixing the song. Don't stress."

He continued to only stare.

Gabriela rested her hand on his face gently.

It rested there for a moment and it seemed to snap him out of his state.

Gabriela sucked in her breath and quickly removed her hand, "Go rest on it."

She opened the door and walked inside the messy apartment.

She stumbled over boxes and headed into her room.

Lucy followed inside, knocking before walking in.

Gabriela nodded and allowed her inside.

"I didn't mean anything by saying your music doesn't rock-"

Gabriela smiled, "It's whatever, our music taste are different. I told Kendall that when I talk to him about you."

Lucy nodded and sat on the edge of Gabriela's bed.

Gabriela was scratching out Pair of Eyes several times in the notebook she had.

Lucy looked around Gabriela's room and saw it was definitely different from her personality. She had posters of several bands and artists on the wall and on the other wall where her TV was, she had different song lyrics beside it.

"You wrote all of those?" Lucy asked.

"Uh, yeah." Gabriela answered, "Songs for the show New Town High, but mainly Big Time Rush."

Lucy nodded, "Are they always like that?"

Gabriela knew what she was referring to, "James, yes. Carlos, sometimes. You didn't get to really meet Logan, but no he's pretty laid back. As for Kendall, he's just headstrong sometimes."

"Can I share my opinion?"

"Go ahead."

"I think Kendall might like you."

Gabriela looked up at her, "I mean, he seems to be joint to the hip with you. All buddy-buddy by the pool earlier." Lucy said.

"He recently just broke up with his girlfriend who is now in New Zealand. If anything he's just getting over her."

"That doesn't mean anything." Lucy said, she walked towards the door, "Just watch his actions next time you're with him, which I bet is tomorrow."

Lucy shut the door and headed to unpack her items.

Gabriela fell flat on her bed and groaned.

Kendall didn't like her. Kendall didn't like her... Kendall possibly liked Gabriela.

She hadn't really thought about it. If Kendall didn't like her, it was whatever, you know?

So let's think about it... the hand holding earlier. The pool the night of prom, the pretending to be his girlfriend so he didn't get the opportunity to get married when she could've picked any of the boys.

Not even five minutes ago when she rested her hand on his face.

The real question now was, did she like Kendall?

GABRIELA WALKED into Rocqué Records and heard, "You're rockin' eyes" being repeated.

She walked into the studio seeing Kendall, Gustavo, and Kelly standing there.

"You just changed pair to rockin'." Kelly said.

"And it still sounds very sad." Gabriela added.

"It still doesn't rock." Kendall said.

"I know!"

"What if we tried E-B-C-G?" Kendall asked.

"Get the band here, and get them in the studio because BTR is gonna rock!"

Kendall, Kelly, and Gustavo began to head towards the exit.

Kendall turned and saw Gabriela sitting where Gustavo previously was.

"You coming?" He asked.

"I'm gonna try and fix what Gustavo wrote, but have fun... doing whatever you're going to do."

She turned the chair back around and began writing all over the paper again.

Kendall left and soon enough he came back.

"Paralyzed." Kendall said, "The song isn't called Pair of Eyes-"

"I know."

"You know?"

She turned her chair around and gestured for him to walk over.

He walked over and hovered over her.

"The song is still something similar to what you guys would sing, but still gives you the rock beat that you want."

She pushed a button on the soundboard that allowed them to hear the music behind the lyrics.

"You and Carlos interchange in singing the choirs, Logan probably has the most singing parts this time, and James will always sing something after Logan." Gabriela explained.

"This is great." He smiled.

She looked up at him and smiled.

The staring. The two looked at each other a lot.

Lucy really dragged Gabriela's mind through the gutter.

The two quickly lost eye contact as Kelly and Gustavo walked and explained that Big Time Rush was going to be on the morning news at eight.

How? Well...

THE GROUP made their way downtown as they performed Paralyzed.

After they finished, Gabriela gave the boys a thumbs up.

Later that night, the boys and Camille sat in Gabriela and Lucy's apartment watching the news.

"And finally tonight, no charges will be filed against the band Big Time Rush for their impromptu downtown concert this morning because, according to police chief Stevens, "Everyone has a good time, and BTR rocks."."

"The cops were right." Lucy said, "BTR rocks."

"Thank you." Kendall smiled.

"And thank you two for helping me move. Our place looks great now."

"Friendzone. Yay."

"Hey, it is gonna be cool having another friend who has their own place." Logan said.

"Let's go hang out by the pool."

They all left the room and headed down to the lobby.

The others were ahead and Gabriela locked the door behind her.

Turning back around she saw Kendall waiting.

"You've could've gone with the others." She said.

Kendall shook it off, "Come on."

Walking down to the lobby and finally seeing the pool, Kendall lifted Gabriela from the ground and dashed to the pool. Throwing both himself and her into it.

Lucy paying more attention to them rather than the others.

At that moment, Lucy knew that her newfound roommate liked Kendall Knight.

Lucy came and Gabriela literally said:

do you like when i update everyday?
