BIG TIME DECISION
( PLUS THE END OF BIG TIME SURPRISE )

THIS WAS Kendall's time. He was going to officially go on his first date with Gabriela. He stayed silent for a moment. Why was he nervous? They were already dating.

"Look, um... if you aren't busy tonight. I can get us into this cool party... a date."

Despite Gabriela initiating the kiss, Kendall did not respond, it was the first time that Gabriela had kissed him first and it shocked him.

But then Kendall softened and kissed back.

Kendall placed his hands on her torso and hers resting on his face.

The ding of the elevator didn't cause either of them to pull away either.

"Kendall? Gabriela?"

Both of them pulled away. Gabriela shut her eyes and sighed.

"Jo?"

The current situation couldn't be worse.

Gabriela removed her hands from Kendall's face and his hands slowly dropping from her torso.

"You're in New Zealand filming a movie- three movies." Kendall said.

Jo's grip on her suitcase tightens, "Well, the studio tested the first film and test audience hated it, then burned down the theater. Then the studio canceled the sequels, and then I came here."

Gabriela didn't know what to say, this wasn't how she imagined telling Jo that Kendall was her boyfriend.

"So, are you guys... dating?"

Gabriela stepped out of the elevator, "Uh," Gabriela looked over at Kendall. Of course, they were dating, just say it. "yes."

The two of them looked over at Kendall, who didn't say anything and quickly clicked random buttons on the elevator, which closed without any of the girls saying anything to him.

NOT BY any means, did Gabriela want things to be awkward between her and Jo when Kendall left them alone.

She had excused herself and went up to the boys' apartment.

The door was already opened so she walked inside.

"Hey." She said softly said.

They waved.

"Have any of you seen Kendall?"

"Uh, no. Not recently." Logan said.

Gabriela nodded, "Well, when you see him can you let him know I'm looking for him."

She turned to make her exit, "Gabriela?" Carlos called, "Everything alright?"

She looked at all three of them, "No."

With that, she left.

She heard footsteps following behind her.

Carlos ran in front of her, "What's going on?"

"Jo's back."

Carlos smiled, "That's awesome."

"Yeah, it is."

Carlos' smile slowly dropped as he looked closely at Gabriela's face.

"Oh."

She held a tight-lipped smile and nodded, "Yeah, so whenever you see him, just... let him know I'm looking for him."

She made her way to her apartment and once inside she flopped down on the loveseat.

Lucy, from the kitchen, turned and saw Gabriela laying face down with her arms crossed from under her.

"What's wrong?"

Gabriela didn't say anything. Lucy walked over to her and squatted. She lifted Gabriela's head and saw that her eyes began to redden.

"I've never seen you cry." Lucy whispered, "What's wrong."

"I'm not crying. My eyes just burn."

Gabriela laid back down, "Jo is back and she saw Kendall and I kissing in that stupid elevator, and then he ran off."

"He ran off?"

"He left Jo and I alone and it was really awkward."

Lucy stood, "I'll be back."

"Please don't go and find him."

"That's your boyfriend, Gabriela. All he has to do is be honest with Jo and tell her that you are his girlfriend."

Gabriela looked over at Lucy, who was standing by the door.

"I'm not going to let him be the reason why your eyes are burning."

Lucy left and Gabriela was faced down on the couch again.

Lucy knocked on the door and Logan answered, "Where's Kendall?"

"Haven't seen him."

"Well, whenever you see him. Let him know that his girlfriend is crying in our apartment- her eyes are burning in our apartment. So, he better find her first before I get to him."

Lucy walked away, leaving Logan to blow out a breath and shut the door behind him.

"Okay, you know you can't just hide from your problems."

Kendall lifted the couch cushions and sat up, "Yes, I can."

The door opened and Camille walked inside.

"I knew you were here! How could you avoid Jo, who you dated, and Gabriela who you've apparently been dating for months?" Camille asked, "But Jo came back and saw you and Gabriela kissing, who Jo knows very well, who didn't know Jo was coming back, and... wow. No wonder you're avoiding them."

"And confused. You forgot confused." Kendall said.

"Which means you have to figure out your problem." Logan said, "Like, does Jo even want to take you back?"

"She does, she told me." Camille said.

"But do you still like Jo?" Logan asked.

What the three didn't know was that Gabriela stood outside the apartment door.

So, Kendall was avoiding her.

If Kendall did like Jo she didn't want to hear him say so.

Gabriela walked off, she took Kendall's jacket off and held it in her hands.

Gabriela had hope that she and Kendall would've lasted a lot longer than this, but she guessed not.

GABRIELA FOUND herself in the boys' apartment again.

She was talking to Logan and Camille.

"You're going home?" He asked.

"I don't know yet. I've talked to my mom about it. I think it's best if I just had time with her, you know. Plus I'm not going to stop Kendall if he likes Jo. So, yeah."

With that, she left the apartment and back to her own.

Kendall dashed inside, "She's leaving?"

"It's bad!" Logan said.

They heard another knock on the door.

Kendall looked through the peephole and saw Jo.

"Locker."

Kendall as quickly and quietly as he could, slid into the locker.

Logan opened the door, "Hey. Sorry, we haven't seen him."

"Sorry, I guess I made a mistake, thinking we could just pick up where we left off. Just tell Kendall, if I don't see him by tonight, that I'm gonna leave the Palm Woods."

"ARE YOU seriously going to leave me here alone?" Lucy asked.

Gabriela was not in the greatest state of mind.

Her boyfriend was avoiding her, her boyfriend might like his ex, and her boyfriend was probably waiting for the problem to blow over.

Lucy tried getting in touch with Carlos to no avail.

Gabriela had her hair in a messy bun that was falling over and Kendall's jacket was very loosely hanging off of her arms.

Lucy sighed and sat down next to her, "Look, Kendall is just another guy that will come in your life and probably make you feel like you're on cloud nine, but you and I both know that you've made a family here also. You and Carlos... you and I. Are you seriously going to leave the Palm Woods over a boy?"

Gabriela looked down at her hands and her pile of gummy bear trash.

"You've eaten sixteen packs of these already." Lucy said.

Gabriela's phone buzzed, it was Camille.

"I'll be back, Camille says she needs to see me."

Lucy nodded.

Gabriela walked down to the lobby and saw Camille waiting for her.

"Hey." Camille smiled.

"Hi."

"Come on, let's walk."

Camille held Gabriela's wrist.

"I found this albino coconut and it looks so cool. Just look."

Camille turned her around and held a grip on her shoulders.

Gabriela sighed, she turned her head slightly and saw someone peaking through their blinds. It was Kendall.

"Are you helping Kendall?"

"What- me?" Camille asked.

Jo heard the two of them and looked up and also saw Kendall.

Gabriela released herself from Camille's grip.

She walked through the lobby and bumped into Kendall.

She grabbed his wrist and pulled him into the supply closet.

"Do you like Jo?"

She was going to be straightforward, there was no back down now.

"Gab-"

"No. It's a yes or no question. Do you like Jo?"

Kendall held a tight lip.

Gabriela nodded, "What have I've always told you?"

Kendall knew what she was talking about.

"Gab. You don't have to-"

"I told you that if my boyfriend liked another girl while we were dating, I would want him to be honest and tell me." She said, "We would break up and he'd go date that girl... and I would be sad but I would've moved on, but I didn't think it would be this hard."

Gabriela's breathing began to pick up and she felt tears roll down her face.

Kendall raised his hand to wipe them away, but she grabbed his wrist.

"If you want to date Jo, all you have to do is say so." Gabriela said, "You are an amazing person, and- whatever happens, I'll be okay... slowly but surely."

She grabbed the doorknob and left. She didn't have anything else to say to Kendall. What could she possibly say to him?

She opened the door and saw Carlos sitting on the loveseat. She slowly shut the door behind her and sat down beside him.

"You're probably one of the strongest people I know." He said, "I don't know how it feels but I can be here for you."

She softly smiled and rested her head on his shoulders, "I don't want to lose my boyfriend, Carlos."

Carlos felt his shirt sleeve getting damp. He looked down and saw her crying. He wrapped his arms around her and hugged her.

It was the one thing she needed right now, a hug.

IT HAD been a few hours and Gabriela sat on the barstool sitting in front of her kitchen island.

She had cleaned the apartment and decided not to leave the Palm Woods. If Kendall didn't want to date anymore, it shouldn't affect Gabriela's whole life.

She had her head resting on top of her crossed arms. She had asked to be alone.

Her messy bun had gotten worse and Kendall's jacket was only on her forearms at this point.

She heard a knock on her door and continued to sit for a moment. She had finally pushed herself off of the barstool and to the door. She opened and looked at Kendall.

"Hey."

"Hey."

The two of them only looked at each other.

Kendall's hands came up to cradle her face. She didn't seem to back down either. He kept her right where he wanted as he kissed her achingly slowly, pouring all the guilt. He'd avoided her because of Jo, he avoided her because he had no answers, he felt guilty.

Gabriela ceased struggling and just stood there, not kissing him back, not pulling away, but he didn't care.

Kendall kissed her, deepening the connection, swallowing her sobs and trying to pretend this wasn't going to be, what felt like, the only time he will ever kiss the girl he loved more than his own life.

Lucy rounded the corner, seeing Kendall outside her apartment. She picked up her pace but stopped once he walked inside.

Gabriela held his hand as the two of them walked into her bedroom.

"What we're going to do is lay down and just think. Nothing's going to be said. No matter how we're feeling."

She let out a breath before laying down on the bed with her eyes shut and her back pressed against the mattress.

She soon felt the bed dip down beside her and they laid there in complete silence.

Kendall looked over at her as she had her eyes shut and fumbled with her fingers.

Taking more focus on her face and seeing the dry tear stains.

Kendall messed up... big time

im sorry you aren't satisfied with what Gabriela is doing career wise (not really sorry lol) but as I explained before songwriters are just as important as the singer. i try and meet everyone's expectations with this story but her being a singer was something I didn't want for her anymore and some people didn't like that. Her being a singer is a little tew much for me.
