BIG TIME SNEAKERS

GABRIELA SAT with the network publicist arguing back and forth with her.

"I'm not getting in between someone's relationship because of that stupid photo you made Jo take."

"It could've been you on that magazine."

"I'm not spending more time with Jett than what I have to."

"Exactly." She smiled, "Either you fake date Kendall or you're fired."

"That's not fair."

"That's Hollywood."

Rolling her eyes Gabriela fell backward into her seat.

Hearing more voices come into the room, she looked and saw Kendall and Jo come into the room.

The three of them began arguing back and forth.

"Jo, here's how publicity works. You give people what they want."

"And what people want is the cutest couple on tv to be the hottest couple in Hollywood." Jett said.

"You knew about this?" Gabriela asked.

"He knew about it? It was his idea."

"What?" Jo questioned.

"This story is already boosting ratings. That's why you and your "boyfriend" Jett, and Gabriela and her "boyfriend" Kendall, are going to be walking the red carpet at Hollywood's hottest young gala tomorrow night."

"But me and Jett are not real."

"But we could be." He said, "Me and you on the red carpet. The lights and the cameras, and it can all get very hot."

"Can I hit him?" Kendall asked.

Jo huffed, "Not yet."

"What if I just go to the gala with Jett and Jo and Kendall can go with each other?" Gabriela asked.

"Do that, and people will call a cheating scandal and you would become one of the most hated teens."

"What if I fake break up with him?" Jo said.

"Do that, and fans will sympathize with Jett. Your popularity would plummet forcing us to kill your character off in some sort of bizarre cheerleading accident."

"Can you just kill my character off instead?" Gabriela asked.

"No can do."

"Jo, have you ever really taken a good look at Kendall's face? It's odd." Jett said.

"Alright, that's it!"

"Look, what's going to happen now is that Kendall and Gabriela are gonna go and live it up as a couple. Like, right now."

The two of them sat outside the building, "Sorry that this is going on right now." Gabriela said, "Never thought I would have to fake date again."

"Don't apologize, you didn't know and someone dragged you into it."

Some man in a black suit approached them, "Gustavo wants to see you."

The man lifted Kendall off the ground, "You know, it's good to see you, Freight Train." Kendall said, "Look, I'll call you later, Gab."

"WHEN WERE you going to tell me about you and Kendall?"

Gabriela looked up and saw Carlos holding the magazine in his hand.

"I'm not dating Kendall."

"But the magazine says-"

"You can't believe everything you read, okay?" Gabriela said, "I'm already stressing out about this and people coming up to me saying, "You and Kendall are a great couple." or "Wow, never would've thought you and Kendall would be dating." Isn't helping."

Carlos put the magazine down. In his time knowing Gabriela he had never seen her stressed out. Yeah, the songwriting and New Town High stressed her now, but not like this.

"I don't want to be in this drama, but of course, stupid Jett."

Carlos sighed, "Wish I could help."

"I know." She said, "I'm gonna head upstairs and try and figure something out."

She walked off without giving Carlos a "see you later." he knew she was upset and wished he could do more.

He turned and seen Kendall quickly walking past with a cameraman following him, he quickly entered the elevator and quickly pushing the button to shut it.

He looked over and seen Gabriela standing there.

"Is Hollywood always this hard?"

"It can be."

She slightly nodded, "Nice to know."

"WELL, IT'S not the zoo, but we are together with no disguises." Jo said.

"Yeah, that's true." Kendall smiled.

"I'm not into this." Jett said.

"Just shut it, Jett. You started this."

"Look, we're all going to get along and accept the fact that this what it's like dating and fake dating in Hollywood." Jo said.

Gabriela hadn't said much since arriving with Kendall and that definitely wasn't going to start after her mother sent her an article written by VMZ.

After reading it, she stood up from the table and headed towards the elevator. Kendall followed suit.

"Hey, hey, where you going?" He asked.

She turned and held the phone in his face, "Do you know how stupid this, not only makes you look but how I look also?" She asked, ""Gabriela Machado stars alongside Jo Taylor in the hot show New Town High, too bad her costar had to yank her boyfriend away."" She read.

"Gabriela-"

""Wow, Gabriela really should've seen the signs."" She read, "I get Jo is your actual real life girlfriend, but I'm not about to get dragged on the internet for something I, for one didn't start and two got dragged into."

She wasn't quick in leaving because paparazzi soon came along asking questions, "Is Jo stealing Kendall from you?"

"Did you see the signs?"

AFTER WATCHING the news segment Gabriela faced Jett and the agent as she stood alongside Jo and Kendall.

"I know who needs to be the other half of the hottest couple on the red carpet, and that's me. Not that." Jett said.

"Can I hit him now?"

"Yeah, go ahead."

He couldn't though, security got to him first.

"Where do they come from?"

"Let's just ask Gabriela how she feels." Jett said.

"I'm over this." Gabriela said, "I'm over everything. I'm not going to that gala with Kendall and gala period. I'm over this drama."

"You can't skip-"

"I can and I will."

Gustavo and Kelly walked inside, "Kendall is going to walk the red carpet with Jo."

"Now give us the boy." Kelly said.

"Yeah, right."

With the snap of his fingers, Freight Train walked inside.

They let Kendall go.

"Jo is walking the red carpet with Jett and Gabriela is walking with Kendall."

"Wait, doesn't anyone care what we think?" Kendall asked holding Jo's hand.

"I'm telling you right now, the answer is no." Gabriela said, "But once again, I'm not walking with Kendall, Kendall and I aren't dating, and if push comes to shove, kill my character by having her falling off the top of the pyramid because I'm done."

With that Gabriela left.

GABRIELA LAID on her loveseat as she watched the red carpet from her tv.

Carlos had joined her and sat at the end of the couch.

From the corner of his eye, he saw her dress lying across the arm of the matching recliner.

He stood up and held the dress up, "The dress is beautiful, bet you would've looked amazing."

Gabriela looked up and saw him holding the dress up, "Maybe another time."

He laid the dress back down and sat back on the loveseat. Though he wasn't around much today, he still knew what was going on with her and this fake dating situation.

Soon Jo and Kendall appeared on the screen, "Wanna watch a movie?" Carlos asked.

"You can put it on whatever you like."

He knew she was mad at Kendall, she already voiced how she felt to him and Carlos and even though Jo is his actual girlfriend, it did make Gabriela look stupid and that she "should've saw the signs".

Carlos stayed for a while after the movie, soon he saw Gabriela sleeping next to him. Finding a blanket he laid it on top of her and leaving.

Soon after there was a knock on the door. Gabriela sat up and didn't see Carlos around.

She stood and opened the door seeing Kendall standing there with a piece of cake I hand.

"The award show had a cake, brought you a slice."

"Give it to one of the boys, I'm sure they'll like it."

Kendall sighed, "I'm sorry. I knew there were cameras in Rocqué Records and since I had finally gotten alone time with Jo, I didn't think anything of it. I'm sorry for how I treated the situation and how you were hurt at the end of the day."

Gabriela rested her head on the doorframe, "Do you miss it?"

"Miss what?"

"Home."

He stayed silent, "I wonder if my mom were here... how would today have been different. She's the one who sent the article." Gabriela said.

It became silent between the two, she looked up at Kendall and smiled, "I'll see you tomorrow, Kendall."

She shut the door behind her and headed to her bedroom.

Apologizing helps, sometimes.
