BIG TIME RIDES

GABRIELA ENTERED the BTR apartment without much thought. Well, she had a thought and that's why she was there in the first place.

Kendall smiled as he watched his girlfriend approach him.

"Hey." She smiled, "I need your help."

"Anything you want, you got it."

"My mom got me a stick shift and I don't know how to drive a stick shift and I felt bad telling her because she spent all this money on this car and this is the one thing she really wanted to give me because now that I make my own money I've been doing a lot for her and now I need-"

"Gabi, I get it." Kendall smiled, "But no."

"Why not?"

"Because every time we try and teach each other something, we end up fighting. A lot and I don't want to fight."

"You have a younger sister, you should know how to braid hair. I had to cut my hair because of you."

"And I like your short hair."

Gabriela sighed, "Look, this is going to be different, okay? I will listen and you will teach. No fighting. Maybe we can practice on something that's not my car."

"The only person I know who has a stick shift is Gustavo and if we do much as get a scratch on it, he would kill us."

"Well, I have access to my bank account so we can just pay for it. Besides, you're my boyfriend. You're supposed to help me. I help you all the time."

"How have you helped me?"

"I have written multiple hits, multiple number one's for Big Time Rush and all I'm asking for is driving lessons."

Kendall sighed, "You got me there."

"So you'll help me?"

"Yes, but we need to get the keys... in Gustavo's office."

"How hard can that be?"

Short answer. Hard. Harder than what the couple would've thought.

They had to take the secret entrance into Rocqué Records just to grab his keys. Gustavo had been sitting in his office, not paying much attention, and with swiftness and utter carefulness, Kendall was able to grab Gustavo's keys and the two of them quickly left.

They made their way to a vacant parking lot where the two of them sat for a while.

"Doesn't the car need to be on?" Gabriela asked.

"No, because we are going to practice using the stick shift so you get a feel for the gears and so you don't get a scratch on Gustavo's car."

Gabriela rested her hand on the stick shift and nodded slowly.

"Okay, well you're the driving instructor, tell me what you know."

Kendall smiled and rested his hand on top of hers. He guided their hands towards what each part of the shift meant.

"Okay, so first, second, third, fourth, and up and over for reverse."

"I still don't get it."

"Well, let's just try. We'll move slow."

They were moving too slow. Then they were moving too fast. Gabriela couldn't figure out the breaks and the stick shift still confusing her. She wasn't understanding the mechanism of anything and was growing frustrated with Kendall yelling at her about how she was doing it wrong.

She suddenly stops the car and sighed, "Maybe we should take a break because yelling at me isn't helping."

"Fine, a break."

The two of them sat in silence for a few moments before Kendall grabbed her hand and placed it on the stick shift again.

"You got this."

"My mom wanted to get me something nice. I'm going to learn how to drive this thing if it's the last thing I do."

"You'll learn and I'll stop yelling."

"Would appreciate it."

Kendall sighed and faced her, "A preposition. I respectfully teach you how to drive a stick and if you get it, I'll buy milkshakes."

"Let me drive back to the Palm Woods and it's a deal."

Kendall stuck his hand out for her to shake.

Gabriela knew that Kendall was only trying to ease her nerves by now, especially since she kept her end of the deal by not arguing with him whatsoever.

So, after all the yelling stop and Kendall guiding her hand in the directions it needed to go to. She had finally got the hang of it, slowly but surely, the two of them drove back around the parking garage.

Gabriela had her full focus on her way to and from getting food with Kendall... at least she thought she was.

She hadn't seen Carlos, Logan, or the little red wagon that quickly flew in front of the car.

Kendall and Gabriela quickly exited the car and saw the damage of the red wagon and the two boys laying flat on their backs.

"Hey, it's Wagonie." Kendall smiled.

"That's your first thought?" Gabriela questioned.

Soon, Kelly and Gustavo rushed around the corner and saw the damage from the wagon.

"Is that my car?"

"No... Yes." Kendall answered.

He quickly kissed Gabriela's cheek before running off, Gustavo running after him.

Gabriela squatted down and inspected the car.

"Not a single scratch." She smiled.

IT HAD grown late into the night. Gabriela had joined the others in their apartment.

They learned that James had bought earlier and had badly injured himself and made a giant hole in the wall.

Gabriela had apology profusely for hitting her friends with the car. They didn't seem to care even if they were injured. They got to give their little red wagon a drive for one last time.

Regardless of the many incidents of today, Kendall and Gabriela headed to her apartment. Lucy was fast asleep in her room and not coming up until the next afternoon.

The couple sat in the loveseat and sipped on their lukewarm milkshakes and watched a pretty bad movie.

Kendall and Gabriela had been good. They were great. Yeah, they had their moments, but here they were, in each other's arms, and living their best lives.

That's all they could ask for.

this was a short ass episode so you can't blame me for how short the chapter is 🤪 call it a filler i guess

kendall and jo literally broke up for this episode and got back together in two seconds ???? kendall and gabriela are already toxic as it is i'm not doing that to them again.
