BIG TIME SONGWRITERS

THE BOYS walked into the lobby seeing Gabriela sitting with earbuds in and writing in the notebook Kendall gave her for Christmas.

"Gabriela would totally help us write a song. She's done it before." Carlos said.

The group had devised a plan, and after talking to Katie they made their way to Gabriela.

She felt someone looking at her and looked up, "Hello, boys."

"You know how special you are?" Kendall asked, wrapping his arm around her shoulders, "Because you are just so special and talented."

She removed her earbuds, "What do you guys want?"

"Can't we just talk to our favorite girl?" Carlos asked.

"Just tell me what you guys want."

"We just want to prove to Gustavo that we can write songs for the band and we know that's something you're passionate about, we just need help." Logan said.

"I think you guys are capable of doing that on your own."

"We've never done it before." Carlos said.

"That doesn't mean you guys can't do it." Gabriela said, "I'll come and observe and I'll help when I think it's necessary, other than that, you guys are on your own. Have confidence."

Gabriela stood from her chair and grabbed her belongings, "Let's go."

The boys following behind, James caught up to her, "So I was thinking... after all this songwriting, you would like to have a dinner date."

She smiled, "No, but you tried and that's all that matters."

"YOU ARE not writing this song!" Gustavo shouted, "Because the lone wolf will have his..."

He quickly turned and threw a dart at a chart, "Muskrat..." Another dart, "love song by the end of the day."

"I'm learning so many things about songwriting." James said.

Gabriela looked over at Logan, "Don't write that down." She whispered.

"Now, get out, because dogs and lady are stressing me out and it's not good for songwriting."

"That's why you need to relax at the Palm Woods' new spa."

"We got a spa?" Gabriela asked, Kendall squeezed her shoulders, "Later." He whispered.

"Yeah, why would I want to go to a spa?" Gustavo questioned.

"Uh, because Jay-Z wrote an entire album while getting a seaweed mango body scrub." Kendall said.

"Well, relaxing and clearing your mind is good for songwriting."

"Write that down." She whispered to Logan.

"Here's your hat." James smiled.

"And your complimentary coupon." Carlos said and pushed him towards the exit.

"Have a great time."

As soon as he was out of sight the boys faced Gabriela, "Okay, let's write a song." Kendall said.

"On it." James and Carlos said, each of them holding a dart.

"Time to write the..."

Logan sighed, "Hate baby song."

"Dartboard method is not a good idea." Gabriela said, "It's best to-"

"Stare into the eyes of the sun to ding the killer hook." Logan read.

"Well, I don't think he meant literally." Gabriela said.

They didn't care... they did it anyway.

The boys headed back inside and sat down.

"Having a metronome is probably not helping." Gabriela said and made it stop.

"Look, we just got to dive in. We gotta stop thinking about it and just make music." Carlos said.

"He's right."

Though he was right, it didn't go as planned and they were back at square one.

"Okay, so Gustavo said clearing your head and relaxing is good for songwriting." Logan said.

"And that makes sense." Gabriela said, "You guys are thinking way too hard about this."

"What's more relaxing than a nice, friendly game of foosball?" Kendall smiled.

Carlos ended up making the goal and began making a tune.

Gabriela stopped him, "That's good." She smiled.

"You're kidding, right?" James asked.

"It's a start." She said, "Obviously you need more lyrics, but yeah it's not bad."

""O" is a letter, genius, not a song title."

Gabriela sighed, "The song wouldn't just be called "Oh", genius." She said and thumped his forehead.

"You guys think you can do better?" Carlos asked.

"Yeah!" James said, "Just give me a minute, and the song will come to me."

The group stood in silence.

"We don't have a minute." Kendall said, "We have to write the song before Gustavo gets back."

"Then get us more minutes!"

The boys stood around Gabriela as she held the phone to her ear, "Hi, Katie."

Though the boys couldn't hear the conversation between the two, it sounded like it was going somewhere.

"We just need you to keep Gustavo a little longer than expected."

"How long is longer than expected?"

"Uh... long?" Gabriela said, "Just as long as you can... an hour maybe."

"What do I get at the end of this?"

"What do you want?"

Katie told her and Gabriela sighed, "Don't think I can do that."

"Gabriela..."

"I'll see what I can do."

"Then I'll see how long how I can keep him."

"Thank you."

The two of them hung up the phone.

The boys thanked her and they made their way back into the studio.

"Look, we're running out of time." Kendall said, "The "Oh" song is cool, so we're recording the "Oh" song."

As he and Carlos sang James put pressure on the piano keys.

"Not feeling the "Oh" song."

"Do you have a better song?"

"Yeah." James said, "Yeah, yeah."

He turned and faced the piano singing simply, "Yeah, yeah."

"That was good."

"No, our song is way better." Carlos said.

"Of course you'd say that, 'cause you always side with Kendall." James said.

Kendall stood up, "No, he doesn't."

"Yeah, he does." Logan said.

Gabriela ran her hands over her face.

"Okay, then you pick the song." Carlos pointed, "Which song is better, Logan? The "Oh" song or "Yeah" song?""

"Uh, you guys? I would really rather not get into the middle of this, so-"

"Big surprise." Carlos said, "Logan doesn't want to make a decision."

"Hey!" James said, "He makes decisions."

"Then decide." Kendall said.

As Logan sighed and began to say how much the "Yeah" song brought happiness while the "Oh" song did the opposite.

That's when the bickering began.

"You know," Gabriela started, "how about James and Logan go into a room and write the "Yeah" song and see what they can do with that while Kendall and Carlos go and write the "Oh" song." She sighed, "Because I'm not here to hear boys argue over a song that literally only has one word to it."

Though what Gabriela had said made sense the boys did continue going back and forth until they went into their separate areas.

Walking into the room where Kendall and Carlos, she saw them sitting in silence.

"Doesn't sound like much is happening here." She said.

"Something's gonna happen." Kendall said.

Silence once again rose, but quickly ended.

"I turn the music up, 'cause, baby we keep going oh, oh, oh." Carlos sang.

"It worked!"

"That was it!"

"The "Oh" song is gonna be so much better than the "Yeah" song."

"Well keep going, yeah it sounded great, but you need more to it." Gabriela said, "Good luck."

She walked out of the room and shut the door behind her.

Once she was completely out the door Carlos faced Kendall, "Didn't she say she would help us?"

"She said she'd help when necessary and after all the mess we made I don't think she'll help us that much."

Carlos sighed, "She's nice enough to help us, you know?"

Kendall nodded, "Yes, yes she is."

Gabriela looked towards James and Logan.

They made her sit in a chair as James sang to her.

"So tell me who am I supposed to be? What I gotta go to get you close to me? If I run away tonight will you follow me? Yeah- yeah, yeah- yeah, yeah- yeah."

She smiled, "That was good, but you still need more to it."

"Better than Carlos and Kendall?"

"That doesn't matter." Gabriela said, "What matters is that you get the song done before Gustavo gets back."

After awhile Gabriela was leaning against the wall watching the band along with Logan and James following behind them.

She saw them wave, she looked back and saw Kendall and Carlos behind her.

Rolling her eyes she followed the band.

After lying about the bonus the band was getting they had set up and heard what Logan and James had created.

She soon heard Kendall and Carlos start screaming and they headed inside the room with Logan and James and began fighting them with the instruments in the room.

She should've known to just stay home but she didn't. She left the room, taking the song lyrics of both songs, and looked at them thoroughly.

Soon Kelly came and heard the fighting between the boys.

Gabriela walked into the room with three pieces of paper, "They actually wrote a song together called, "Oh Yeah". It's pretty good if you ask me."

Kendall went to speak but they had heard the sounds of Gustavo screaming.

"Wait!" Kelly shouted, "Before you kill them... and explain what all that is, check out the new song from your new songwriters."

The boys began to sing together and once they stopped Gustavo began to shout.

"It's not terrible. It just needs a little bit of help, like arranging and producing, and a master at the controls. Now, get in the studio!"

"I thought you only wrote alone." James said.

"Let's just say every now and then, the lone wolf needs his pack."

The boys sang their song for Griffin and he loved it.

"How'd you write it so fast?" Griffin asked.

"Let's just say it started with some fighting but ended with a big-time collaboration." Kelly smiled.

"You know, I think I'll write a song with Gustavo." Griffin said.

"Of course, we can skip the fighting."

"No, no, I want to be thorough."

KENDALL SAW Gabriela sitting at a poolside table and placed a cupcake in front of her.

She looked up and smiled, "What's this for?"

"Helping us earlier." He sat down in front of her, "And for writing our song."

"I didn't write it."

She opened her bag and pulled out the three pieces of paper, "This" She pointed to the paper, "is the song you and Carlos wrote and this is the song Logan and James wrote. The only thing I did was put the two together and there goes the song your song "Oh Yeah"."

Kendall smiled, "Well, here's my thank you anyway, I know we called you some trouble and you didn't have to help us."

He pushed the cupcake forward. She grabbed ahold of it and as carefully as she could spilt it in half.

"For a good day's work." She smiled and handed him the other half.

Continuing to smiling back at her, he knew.

"Hey, Kendall, you okay?" Gabriela asked, "You look spaced out."

He only smiled, "I'm good... everything's good."

also i know it's taking time for Gabriela to get her start, BUT, i believe that songwriters (what she mainly wants to be) are under appreciated.

for example: Ariana Grande. I know she has writers for her song, but the only person I know that writes them are Victoria Monet. Ariana had like 10+ people write thank u, next with her.

Billie Eilish. Billie's brother Finneas writes songs with her and I believe he's the only one that's writes songs with her. (lovely being different because Khalid wrote it with them)

Sofia Carson. She doesn't write her songs at all (rip didn't know that).

In conclusion, her time is coming 😎
