moving out
BIG TIME MOVE
GABRIELA AND Lucy had been going back and forth on Gabriela's secret.
The secret wasn't much... to Gabriela, but she had the right to her privacy.
Gabriela was laid out on her loveseat as she watching a movie on her laptop.
Lucy was in her room after "tormenting" Gabriela for the past half hour.
Someone knocked on the door and Gabriela stood to answer it.
She opened the door and Kendall stood before her.
"We've got to go to Rocqué Records."
"Hi."
He smiled, "Hi. Let's go."
She stepped out of her apartment and locked the door behind her.
"Why are we going to Rocqué Records?" She asked.
"The guys and I haven't been able to stop arguing and we're going to get Gustavo to yell at all of us and fix all this arguing."
Gabriela could only nod, whatever he thought would work would probably backfire so Gabriela was thinking of a back plan.
"Gustavo, we have a problem." Kendall said.
"I know. We're booking our world tour, and the world won't call us back."
"World tour?" Gabriela questioned, "I thought it was the U.S. and Canada only."
Kendall rested his hand on her back, "We'll talk about it." He whispered, "Actually, no." He said bringing his attention back to Gustavo, "Me and the guys got in a huge fight, and they moved out."
"They moved out?"
"Yeah, so can you yell at them and get them to come back so we can be friends again?"
"Yes, because I do not need this band breaking up before our soon-to-be world tour. Plus, I love to yell."
Gustavo bit into his banana and threw it on the ground.
"Can you please not spike a banana peel?" Kelly asked, "And pick that up before you slip on it and throw your back out."
"Oh, please. That only happens in cartoons."
He bent down and all you could hear is the cracking of his back.
"Oh, that's not good." Gabriela said.
"I can't move... or yell."
"Maybe it's not so bad." Kelly said.
"Oh, yes, it is, because he needs to get to the Palm Woods so he can fix us."
"Kendall, you have to do it yourself. You have to keep this band together, and Kelly, call Doc Hollywood."
"I've never heard him whisper... or talk quietly." Gabriela said.
"I will destroy all of you."
Kendall and Gabriela made their way back to the Palm Woods, they both saw Logan sitting poolside by himself.
"What's the plan?" Gabriela asked.
"Do you want to talk about the tour first?"
Gabriela bit the inside of her cheek, "No."
Kendall sighed, "I'm going to find each of them, talk it out, and say the others forgive you, and boom, we're all friends again."
"You think that's going to work?"
"Yes." He smiled.
"Then, good luck. I'll be in my apartment when your plan utterly fails."
"There's no luck in that."
"I'll have a backup plan for you if this doesn't work."
She walked off towards the elevator, "We still have to talk about the tour." Kendall said.
"I know."
Gabriela made her way back to her apartment to see Lucy waiting for her.
"Tell me!"
"There's nothing happening between Kendall and I."
"Ah! So it's you and Kendall!"
"You already thought it was."
Gabriela sat down beside Lucy, "I know something is going on between the two of you." Lucy said.
Gabriela held her legs close to her body.
"Your silence is an answer."
"No, it's not."
"Do you like Kendall?"
"Yes."
"Okay, let me rephrase my question." Lucy said, "Do you like Kendall the same way you like Carlos?"
"No."
Gabriela felt like there was no reason to not be blunt towards Lucy. She was somewhat tired of Lucy's back and forth questions.
"That's interesting." Lucy smirked, "Very interesting."
"Well, it's not going to be interesting anymore. They possibly have a world tour coming up."
"So?" Lucy questioned, "Tell him how you feel. He leaves for three to six months and boom, it's like nothing even happened."
Gabriela let her head fall back.
It quickly went back up when someone knocked on the door.
"Oh, I bet it's lover boy now. I bet he-"
Gabriela placed her hand over Lucy's mouth, "Your mouth stays shut until he's gone."
Gabriela stood up and opened the door.
"Hey, we're having lunch. Let's go."
She didn't get a chance to say much as he dragged her out of the room and into his apartment.
She sat down in between Katie and Kendall in a very quiet room with James, Carlos, and Logan.
"This is really good." James said.
Logan smiled, "You know how much I love toast."
"And has anyone noticed that it's been five minutes, and haven't fought?" Kendall asked.
"Yeah. You know, I don't even know why we fought in the first place." Carlos said.
"So let's all renew our friendship with a little Bio Hazard Battle Blasting and never fight again."
Gabriela tugged on his arm, "Are you sure that's a good idea?"
"Yes."
It wasn't.
The living room was a mess and James, Logan, and Carlos were arguing again.
"Well, counting lunch, you made it six minutes without fighting." Katie said.
"So it's getting better, right?"
"We're tied down." Gabriela said, "How did we get here?"
Something came flying their way and hit the wall, "Not the platinum controller." Kendall said.
The boys left leaving Katie, Gabriela, and Kendall in a mess and finally untied from the chairs.
"I don't know why we're fighting so much." Kendall said.
"You're growing apart." Katie said, "Most adolescent friendships eventually decay due to distrust and-"
Ms. Knight put her hand over Katie's mouth.
"I mean, last week, we were singing and getting ready for a might-be world tour, and now we're not even talking."
"Tell them how you feel, Kendall." Gabriela said.
Ms. Knight nodded, "Just be honest with them."
"Uh, yeah, guys don't do that."
"Maybe they should." Gabriela said, "Because if you don't, maybe this is where Big Time Rush ends and if end here, you left on a sour note."
"How am I supposed to get them all together to say anything?" He asked.
"With love." Ms. Knight said, "Love fixes lots of things, okay?"
"You know what? You're right, because the one thing we all love is... Bio Hazard Battle Blast Five. I'll create the ultimate tournament of champions challenge that they have to come back to the crib for."
"Or you could go outside and play."
"Nah, my way plan is better."
It had hit three o' five and none of the other boys had come back to the apartment. Kendall's flyers and all.
"They're not coming." Kendall said.
Gabriela gave him a flat smile, "I'm sorry."
"Hey, first thing tomorrow, we're gonna go to the mall and get you some new friends." Katie said.
Soon the door opened and all three boys came inside, arguing of course.
"Hey, where's the prize?" Carlos asked.
"Yeah, the flyer says we can win the ultimate prize, so where is it?" James asked.
"The prize is our friendship." Kendall said.
"I hate that prize." Logan said, "Now, I am walking out of here."
"Same here."
"Fine, walk out on a lifetime of friendship because of one bad week."
"I smell speech."
"I hate that smell."
"I hate you."
"You don't hate him." Gabriela said, "Now listen to Kendall."
"Carlos, who tutored you in math every night when you were struggling in algebra?"
"Logan."
"And, Logan, who was there to protect you when you called the wrestling team jerks in Latin?"
"James, but gladiatoris es stupides. Just saying."
"And, James, who ran two miles to the nearest drugstore when you ran out of hair gel in the sixth-grade dance?"
"Carlos." James sighed, "Here's your helmet back."
They each returned said items to the rightful owners, except for Carlos. Logan didn't want the laptop back.
"You know, I still don't know we've been fighting this whole time." James said.
"But it stops now."
"Finally." Kendall said, "So who wants to play Bio Hazard Battle Blast Five?"
That's when the arguments started back.
"We were just gonna play a game." Kendall said.
Gabriela took the game from him, "It's this game that's causing all these arguments." She said, "You were all fine before this game, now look at you, arguing."
"She might have a point." Logan muttered.
"Think about it." Kendall said.
It was the leaderboards.
"Okay, but what about my cereal helmet?"
"Well, I was sitting at the counter when I thought about how my cereal looked like the surface area of ring dar seven, and that reminded me how Carlos wouldn't share any of his ring dar power crystals in our earlier campaign, so I took it out on his helmet." James explained.
"Well, that makes sense."
"Are you guys fighting again?" Ms. Knight asked holding a bag of groceries, "I swear I am gonna take that video game away from you."
Gabriela handed her the game, "They are done with this game for a long time."
"Good. So, now, maybe you will finally go outside and play."
"Mom, we're not eight."
"Dust off your passports, 'cause Big Time Rush's all over the world tour is a go." Gustavo said entering the apartment.
"With tour dates in the U.S., Canada, and London."
"We're going to England?"
"And we need to start rehearsal now."
"Okay, guess we're playing outside."
Gabriela didn't join them outside, she sat in her apartment wrapped up in a blanket sitting outside on the terrace.
She could hear them singing from where she sat, but she wasn't too focused on it.
She heard the door open and assumed Lucy came back from being outside with everyone else. Gabriela glanced at the ground seeing a ton of people still there.
She heard the door slide open and shut as Kendall sat across from her.
"I hope you guys have fun on tour." Gabriela whispered.
Just do it. Lucy was right, he'd be gone for months. This was Gabriela's "you only live once" moment. She knew Kendall liked her, but things can change in a couple of months. We saw how (in Gabriela's eyes) fast he moved on from Jo.
"Kendall."
He looked over at her.
She took a breath, "I like you, a lot. And I don't know when tour will be over, but I guess it's better to tell you than to wait."
Kendall couldn't help but smile her way, he scooted his chair closer to her.
"We'll be gone for a while, but I'm glad you told me."
Gabriela nodded, "Least I could do."
Kendall looked at her longingly, she doing the same.
Kendall felt himself lean forward and kissed her.
The kiss was light and somewhat questionable, one feeling fine and the other was testing the new waters.
Then it became more certain, but no less tender. Without the distraction of sight, every sound and sensation was magnified.
Lucy looked up, she had earlier seen Gabriela sitting up there alone and now she saw Gabriela and Kendall kissing each other on the balcony.
She quickly turned back around.
Kendall broke the kiss first, but the distance between them still very, very close.
"What are we?"
"Whatever you want us to be, Kendall."
and with that... that's the end of season two
