🕛Time Skip to end of school🕛

Lisanna didn't bug me today! Luckily.

I was just waiting for her to do something, but I guess Natsu was her stopping point.

Instead of going home, I walked with Natsu around town. Leaving my car at the school. I took him to a restaurant and he chowed down on everything. After we ate, I took him to the park for the last 4 hours he had left. I sat on a bench while he sat on the ground in front of me, plucking stands of grass and tearing them in half.

"So, how did you like high school?" I asked.

"It was nice. Other than the introducing myself crap. I hated that!" He said, throwing his split grass in the air, watching it flying away.

"Can you be honest and tell me what those rumors about you are? I told you about me." He begged, looking up at me with concern; His hair blowing in the window and falling in his face. I looked away in shame. His secret was such a beautiful one, while mine was just the typical bullied girl with her outcast friends.

"Well, you gonna tell me?"

"Um... I'm just not a likeable person." I stammered.

"There's more than that. I can tell by how your attitude changes when I mention it. Your face goes pale and you avoid eye contact."

"And you can't talk to anyone but me nicely."

"Oh, come one Lucy! I want to help you if I can! You gave me all of this freedom and I have no way of thanking you other than helping you!" He said, turning to face me and resting his arms on the seat of the bench.

"I told you. I'm just not the most popular girl there. That's all."

"Then who were those three girls who looked like they wanted to kill you?"

I froze. If I told him, then I don't know how Lisanna would react if she found out that I even mentioned her name badly to the new "hottie".

" Lucy! Please tell me!" He said, grabbing my arm and shaking me out of my worried world. He immediately let me go when he remember about his burning touch. He didn't do that much damage though, nor did I care.

"You know how there's always this trio of mean girls that bully on one 'nerd' girl? Well, they're my trio of mean girls." I explained, seeing his face go grim.

"Am I going to make them hurt you?"

"No! Actually, I think that they're scared to approach me when you're around, so you're helping me enough!" I said, trying to stay positive.

"Alright then. When we're at school, we don't split up for a second."

"We're already supposed to do that because of what the chief said."

"I'm serious. Even without the law." He said, looking at me with eyes of protection. I laughed.

"It's funny how close we've gotten in the last three days."

"You could say that." He said, smiling for the first time.

"Hey! You smiled! You should do that more often." I cheered.

"I can try, but no promises."

"I can live with that. Anything else you wanna do? We've got three more hours."

"Can we just walk around. We'll get to your car eventually."

"OK. I'll follow you. Where ever you want to go!" I said, standing up and pulling Natsu up, ignoring the burning skin; He's learned not to fight back anymore.

I followed him to where ever he went. He walked into some stores and looked around. He asked to buy some stuff, but I told him to wait until I had room in my house.

"Does your dad know that you're with me?" He asked.

"No. Plus, he doesn't live with me. He lives a few cities away in Clover. He only visits me when it's our turn to visit Sting. He should be on a ride back by now." I explained. He understood and didn't ask again.

We only had an hour left, so we walked back to the school and got into my car.

"You'll come back tomorrow, right?" He asked as I started driving.

"Of course! Why wouldn't I?" I promised. He smiled again, then looked out his window. As I pulled into the prison, he frowned. I hated seeing him like that, so I made a mental note to myself, saying that I had to get him put as soon as possible.

We got out and I used the badge the chief gave me and opened the gates. As we walked past the other inmates, they were frozen in place. Natsu and I ignored them, and as we approached Natsu's cell, the chief was waiting for us.

"I'm back. You happy?" Natsu scoffed, walking into his cell as the chief closed it behind him.

"I see that you gave him a shirt. " the chief pointed out 

"Yeah, because he deserved it." I said firmly.

"He's a demon! He doesn't deserve-"

"He's just as human as you and me and you know that! Don't you dare call him a demon in front of me again!" I shouted. The chief looked stunned, but regained his composure. 

"Look, I need to talk to you." I said.

"In my office." He said, walking off. Before I followed him though, I turned to Natsu, who was holding onto the bars.

"Don't get used to your cell." I smiled. Before he could say anything, I ran off to meet the chief.
