Stick Together

Lucy's P.O.V

I came down with my book, planning on explaining my discovery to Natsu, but I got distracted when I saw him. Once he had explained what he did to me, I was so happy. Natsu was breaking passed that wall and controlling something that he believed was out of his reach.

I fell asleep on him afterwards, not wanting to go back upstairs. He was surprisingly comfy and being near him took my fears and worries away. I didn't care what the book said about us. Natsu and I are close, and nothing can change that.

No one's P.O.V

The next morning, Natsu woke up before Lucy and gently shook her awake.

"No. I don't want to wake up." Lucy mumbled, pushing Natsu's hand away.

"But you have a life to live. It won't stop just because you want to sleep more." Natsu teased, this time moving from the couch.

"No. Life can wait. Natsu! Stop moving." Lucy said, now trying to keep Natsu still.

"But we have to deal with your 'friends' today. You know that you're gonna be in bigger trouble if you don't show up today."

"It's Friday though. I can get a three day weekend."

 "Lucy."

 "Natsu."

 "Good morning!"

Jude was standing behind the couch now, ready and dressed for the day. Natsu and Lucy jumped at his appearance and fell off the couch.

"Dad! Did you have to scare us like that?" Lucy groaned, getting up and brushing herself off.

"I wouldn't have scared you if you were awake and ready for school. Now hurry and get dressed you two. You're almost late. I won't be here when you get back though. I'll be gone by noon and won't be back for another month or so."

"Got it!" Lucy said, hugging her dad and running back upstairs to get ready.

"I can tell you mean well. So treat her right and you'll be on my good side. Understand?" Jude said, turning to Natsu.

"Understood sir! I shall be with her and treat her like the queen she is." Natsu said, shaking Jude's hand as he left.

Soon after, Lucy came back down and grabbed them both a quick breakfast.

"Lets go. If we wanna make it there on time, then we gotta leave now." She said, fumbling her keys through her fingers. Natsu hopped into her car and Lucy quickly followed, starting the car and pulling out. She speeds through the lanes, hoping she wouldn't be pulled over.

"We should go drag racing one day. With your driving skills, you'd be the first to skid the street." Natsu teased as they pulled into the parking lot.

"Ha ha. Very funny. I just got you out of prison. I don't feel like putting you back in. We need to stick together. I would like to keep you out, thank you very much." Lucy smiled, walking next to Natsu as they walked into the school. Lucy noticed her friends gathered at a table, most likely waiting for her.

"You ready for them to hate you?" Lucy said, her grip tightening around Natsu's hand.

"Well, seeing as their first impression of me was good, and their second one of me was horrible, they're probably more confused in anger than in hatred. Right?" Natsu said, trying to stay positive, in a sarcastic way.

"Well... Only one way to find out."

Lucy pulled Natsu along, up to her friends who all had cross looks on their faces.
