Natsu's P.O.V

I woke up earlier this morning to Lucy pacing around the living room. She seemed to be thinking about something so I decided to leave her and go to the kitchen to grab breakfast.

When I sat on the couch, she didn't even notice me. She was so deep in her trance.

"Lucy? Earth to Lucy?" I finally said, getting up and standing in front of her. She screamed and jumped back.

"Don't scare me like that! At least let me know you're here!" She scolded.

"I've been on the couch for the past thirty minutes staring at you walking back and forth. What has got you in such a trance?"

"It's not a trance! It's a panic! Tomorrow night is prom! There's still a lot to do! I have to get a dress, get you a tux, get rid of your burning touch, drive to clover which is an hour and a half away." She listed, counting on her shaky fingers.

"Hey, calm down. Why don't we go to Clover now and get all of that done there. Minus the curse thing. Today will be our break, ok?" I said, titling her head up to look at me.

"But I can't go out with my uncontrollable celestial glow! I can't control this at all! And I destroyed the case that trapped it. I mean, there might be a spare in the attic, but it's a mess up there. It's a miracle you found mom's statue. What if we can't find it? Or maybe it's cracked. Or-"

"Now you're panicking. Let's just go look for it." I said, pulling her along up the stairs. We dropped the ladder to the attic and cleared the dust. We searched for it; her glow illuminated the place making it easier to see than before.

"Is it any of those glass boxes?" I asked, pointing a trophy case filled with figurines and glass cases. Lucy walked up to it and looked over them.

"That one!"

Lucy's P.O.V

I reached in and pulled out the old case, a piece of paper falling from it. I picked it up and stuffed it in my pocket.

"Let's go see if it still works." I said, going back to the main floor. I took off my key and placed it in the case, closing it tightly. Slowly, I felt myself being drained, and my celestial glow disappeared.

"Now we can go do what you wanted to do. I'll go get your car started." Natsu said, taking my keys walking out the door.

I took out the paper from my pocket and opened it, reading what it said.

I want you to know something. I read that one story book to you as a child so that you would eventually find the connection. I also read it to you so that you would one day cross paths with the adoptive son of Igneel, who was the husband of my late friend Grandine. I want you to know that the curse was placed by hatred, so only the opposite can reverse it. I hope you find this well, my sweet little angel.
