Lies And Wings
🔑Lucy's P.O.V🔑
I dropped everyone else off at their houses, then took Natsu back to the prison, planning on straight up smacking the chief.
"Hey Lucy? Why do you lie?" Natsu asked out of no where.
"What do you mean?" I questioned .
"No matter how severe the lie is. Whether it be about you eating the food, or whether it be that you killed someone. You always lie about something. Why?"
I sat silent as I parked my car and turned off the engine.
"Is there even a reason? Or do you do it out of pure habit?" He pestered on.
"Before, it was to hide the truth from my dad and brother. Later on, it grew to saying anything that would make my friends happy. No matter how big the lie, or how small the truth. Now... Now I think it's out of pure habit. I don't even realize that I do it anymore." I admitted. Natsu didn't say anything else, so I got out of the car and took him inside.
"About time you showed up. You're 10 minutes late!" The chief yelled in my face.
"I should just cancel Wednesday after that little stunt."
"Cancel Wednesday, and I'll sue you. I'm already raged at you for telling him that we even had something planned then!" I snapped right back at him, walk in past him and inside the prison.
I ignored the complaining prisoners and continued walking to Natsu's dark cell, opening the cell the moment we got there.
He walked inside, flinching when I slammed the door closed behind him.
"Why are you so upset? You were just fine a second ago." He said, clenching into the bars as he tried to read my face.
"Sorry. I just got mad when he said that he would cancel Wednesday. Trust me, if he did, I would be so mad, I don't even know how I would react." I said.
Natsu stood there, as if he were thinking about what he was going to question next.
"One last question before you go." Her said, the sun setting and making him slowly change into his demon form.
"Why do you lie to everyone else, but never to me? Sure, you hide things, but you've never lied to me. Why?" He asked, his skin turning to a red, scaled pattern, going up his torso and to his head.
"Why? Well... I guess it's because you're like me. You're easy to talk to because you know what it's like to be different. You know what it feels like to be exiled. So, in a way, I like you, so I don't lie to you."
I looked over at him, expecting to see him on his full demon self, other than the horns. But he looked different. That's when I realized something...
"Natsu! Your wings are gone!"
