Let Him Go!

🔑Lucy's P.O.V🔑

I drove home steering with my non burnt hand.I didn't regret holding his hand, nor do I right now.

I got home and luckily got there ten minutes before midnight. Then I questioned myself.

My dad is only visiting! I never had to listen to him! I thought. But then again, that will be explained later.

"I'm home dad!" I called out.

"You made it in time! I have to go back to Clover now, but I'll come back when it's our turn to visit Sting. Bye Lucy." He said, grabbing his keys and going out to his car.

"Bye!" I said, waving as he drove off.

I walked back inside to the bathroom and started treating to my hand. I got some ice and wrapped it around my hand with bandages. When he removed his hand, it stung a little, but it stopped after a few seconds. I liked holding his hand though. I feel horrible that he's locked up just because he's the last demon alive. I mean, why not just lock all of the last people huh?! Because then everyone would be locked up because everyone is the last of their kind because you can have EXACT doubles of someone! Sure, there are identical twins, but they just look the same. They could act completely different!

STOP! I'm rambling again. Back on topic!

I finished wrapping my hand and I hopped into my bed. I stared at the ceiling and thought about what we had talked about.

FLASHBACK-

"If I went with someone to watch me, then they probably would. But until then, no."

FLASHBACK END

I told him that I could help him, and he looks eager to go too.

While I thought, I also drifted off to sleep. The next morning, I made sure to wake up extra early. The prison luckily was open this early, so I drove over and arrived at 6:30.

"Can I speak to your Chief?" I asked the gate guard. He nodded, like he always does, and took me to the Chief's office, where he was sitting there looking at files.

"What can I do for you ma'am?" He asked, placing the files aside, the grate guard closing the door behind me.

"I wanted to know if you would let one of your inmates come to public school with me. I've recently talked to him and he seemed eager to go, but he said that you would only allow this if he went with someone to watch him." I explained.

"That is the rule if an inmate wants to go to public school. He would have to be in all of the same classes as you and he would have to be bye your side at all times." He responded.

"That's fine by me. Do you think he could come today to see if he likes it?"

"Sure. Who is it you'd like to take?" He asked, logging onto his computer. I stood tall and got ready for his reaction.

"Natsu Dragneel." I smirked, getting the reaction I expected.

"T-That boy?! N-No! I can't allow that!" He shouted.

"Is it because he's intimidating?"

"No! He's very dangerous and a normal citizen like you couldn't possibly understand."

Normal citizen? Normal?! Citizen?! Oh boy, I'm about to explode.

"So, you're saying that a normal citizen, like me per say, doesn't have the mind set to comprehend what 'Last of Kind' means?"

"... How do you know-"

"Are you saying that a normal citizen, like me per say, doesn't know her rights that are equal to all people, including those not in control of their heritage?"

"But-"

"Are you saying that a normal citizen, like me per say, should be scared of the most beautiful gift the world gives us? Life? Other people? Hearts big enough to care for all?" I finished. We sat in silence for a good minute before he gave in.

"Fine. You can wait for him to wake up by his cell. When he wakes up, signal one of the cameras and I'll open his cell door. He's your responsibility the moment he leaves the gate. He needs to be back before 8 though." He said very slowly like I didn't understand him.

"Alright! Thank you!" I said cheerfully, walking into the prison.

Walking down the prison was quieter since it was early morning. The few inmates that were awake were still to lazy to get up and reach out to touch me.

I got to the edge of the dark hallway and remembered that I had the bandage on my hand. Not wanting to hurt him, I took it off and threw it away, proceeding down the dark, single lighted hallway.

I looked at him sleeping on his hanging bed. He was still in his demon form, but I could tell that it was fading. I looked over at the clock he had and saw that it was seven. School started at eight, so he had to hurry and wake up.

He finally woke up at 7:30; He also was human again.

"Why are you here this early?" He asked, getting up and walking over to his normal sitting position. Without answering his question, I stood up and waved at the camera.

"He's awake!"
