The Shoes

"I'm gonna be late! I'm gonna be late!" Lucy exclaimed as she grabbed her uniform and skirt while glancing at the clock.

"Lucy Heartfilia! How many times have I told you to sleep early and wake up early? Look, you're gonna be late! Again!" her mother shouted angrily at her.

"I'm sorry, mom! I was just trying to play and finish the level of Super Mario bros." Lucy explained, hurrying to prepare her bag and needed things for school.

"Ah, so that's it. Give me your nintendo DS. Now." Lucy's eyes widened for a moment and protested.

  "But mom—"

"No buts. Give it or else you're grounded here at your room for a week."

"Argh," she grumbled as she surrendered her nintendo DS. She then kissed her mom's cheek and waved her goodbye at her.

"This is just... so unfair. Later it's gonna be so boring. How am I supposed to finish the super hard level now?" she mumbled to herself while walking towards the school.

When she reached the school, the bell rang. "Perfect timing," she said then ran to her classroom. She got in time; the teacher was still not around.

She took her seat next to a pink haired boy with onyx eyes. The boy was flustered, the blond not noticing it. She then pulled out her pen and notebook, ready to listen to the discussion while the pink haired boy just stared at her. He was amazed by the beauty of the blond.

When it was dismissal, Lucy hurried to her soccer practice. Yep, she's kinda sporty, if you ask me. But soccer's not only for boys, right?

But just when she was about to reach the locker room for girls, one of her uniform shoes fell off the bridge she was crossing at. And below the bridge was the pink haired boy. He saw the school shoes drop in front of him.

"Hm?" The pink haired boy stopped in his tracks.

Back to Lucy, she became frustrated, for her mother will be mad again. She just ran to the locker room, trying to forget about the shoes because she knew that if she's late for the soccer practice, her Coach Gray will lash out at her. She reached the girls' locker room and saw Erza Scarlet, the team captain of the Girls' Soccer Team, changing.

"Oh, you're already here, Lucy. Hurry up and change to your soccer uniform. Coach Gray will arrive any minute from now, so you better hurry." The red head noticed Lucy's shoes, "Uh... what happened to your other shoes? Is it missing?" she asked curiously.

"Uh, no, it just fell on the bridge. I was just careless, don't worry." the blond explained.

"I'm gonna help you find it later." Erza smiled at her.

She's so kind. Lucy thought while she was changing to her uniform.

When she was done and all the members were there, Coach Gray entered.

"I have a very important announcement."

"What is it, Gray-sama?" Juvia asked with hearts in her eyes.

"Your practices starting from now on will help you get your grades in your Physical Education subject. That's all for now. Now we must practice. Line up!" The coach commanded, getting his attendance folder.

  "Erza Scarlet," he called.

  "Present!" The red haired replied.

  "Juvia Lockser."

  "I'm here, Gray-sama!"

  "Lucy Heartfilia."

  "Present."

  "Cana Alberona."

  "Present!"

  And the attendance went on.

On the bleachers was Levy who was cheering for her friend, Lucy. Beside her was Lucy's secret admirer, Natsu. Remember the pink haired boy with onyx eyes? Yes, Natsu Dragneel is his name. He was secretly cheering for the blond too. But Lucy was too focused on the game that she didn't noticed her bestfriend and secret admirer rooting for her.

Onto Natsu, he was still having Lucy's shoe. He did not know it was her shoe. He really wanted to find the owner, but he first wanted to attend Lucy's practice.

When the practice ended, Natsu decided to find the owner of the shoes. He was now inspired because of the blond.

"Who is the owner of the shoes?" He muttered.

"Ugh. Where is that stupid shoes?" He heard a very familiar voice.

"Don't lose hope, Lu-chan. I'm sure you can find it."

"Have you seen it yet?" Natsu shuddered when he heard the red head's voice.

"Maybe it's her shoes..?" Natsu asked to no one in particular. He decided to confront the three girls even if he was scared to death by Erza.

"Uhh... I found a shoes that fell off a bridge—"

"Oh thank you! I was going to die finding that pair of shoe! Thank you, thank you, thank you!" Lucy jumped to hug Natsu which startled him up for a bit. She grabbed the shoes from Natsu and continued babbling, "How can I repay you?"

Natsu thought for a moment, "Well, you have repayed me already by saying thank you. You know what, I'm your number 1 fan. That's enough for me. Besides, you hugged me too, so it's alright."

Lucy stood there, frozen and dumbfounded. She never had a reply for him. For now.

"Well, if you don't wanna reply then I should get going. See you around." He waved at the blond. Lucy tugged on the sleeve of his uniform.

"Don't. I have something to tell you."

++

It's been months since Natsu and Lucy were in a relationship. It's been months since the accident. And today... is their seventh monthsary.

  "Happy seventh monsary, Luce."

  "Happy seventh monthsary too, Natsu."

"Hey, now that I think about it, we are in a relationship right now because of your shoe. Thanks to your shoe and your clumsiness." Natsu murmured the last sentence. He doesn't want to get killed by her girlfriend.

"I heard your last sentence, mister." Lucy warned Natsu.

"Sorry about that." Natsu sweatdropped. Lucy began to tickle Natsu....
