When Natsu, Lucy, Happy, and Zeref got to the cave Natsu was raised in, Natsu said, "I can feel the demon inside. It wants to kill. I need to go satisfy it for your safety. I'll be right back."

Zeref finally says something after Natsu leaves. He says, "Damn it! I should have kept the demon sealed.Now he has no want to kill me. All I did was burden him. And the worse part is, the sealing was a one time deal. The only way to stop him now, is to kill him. And as long as I'm alive, I will not let him die in front of me again."

Lucy turns to Zeref and says, " I'm worried for him too, but Natsu can take care of himself. He always has." Turns to happy and asks, "Why are you being so quiet. Usually you'd be saying something like 'Oooo. You love him.' But you're just sitting their what's wrong?"

Happy answers reluctantly with, "Everyday, since the day I was born, I sensed an unrequited kinship toward Natsu, but ever since that lightning hit him back there, I don't feel it anymore. Its as if, he died." After saying all this, Happy starts to cry.

Zeref answers Happy's veiled question, "I think the only way for me to free E.N.D. was to kill the boy you all knew. I didn't figure it out until after I finished stating the unsealing spell, and saw him lying there. I then listened for a pulse, but didn't hear one. I indeed killed my brother once again. Though I think that the demon wanted the human part of himself still there because now both of their souls have become intertwine. Creating a being far more lethal than any of mine, even E.N.D. He is my ultimate creation, he fights for good with bloods of evil. His unwavering loyalty to fairy tail will keep him on a path of righteousness. But if anyone from the guild were to try killing him, he would become an unstoppable force of darkness and evil. The reason he flew from the hall was to protect his family from the demon's hunger. He took you along though, which is a sign of a relationship. So, do you plan on asking me for my brothers hand? I am from ancient times where I pretty much raised Natsu until he died."

"We aren't like that!" Lucy blushes and continues, "At least, we aren't yet. You see, Natsu had yet to understand the concept of love. Though, the way he is now, he might figure it out. Tell me Zeref, was E.N.D. smart before you trapped him?"

"Quite actually, much unlike my little brother who was always getting me into trouble for his mistakes.He would kill most of the people in a village, then leave one adult and all the children alive so that in a few years he could still have plenty of people to kill. He's also the one who asked to be sealed away. He is the only one who knew the spell. But he never told me it. And since they now merged, if this version doesn't remember the spell, there is no resealing him. And you can't seal him without sealing human Natsu in there with him." Said Zeref in a reminiscent voice.

Lucy looks at him for a few seconds, then says, "You know, he had a plan to kill you. He created a spell and put it on his right arm, but wouldn't let anyone see it because it would only work once. What if Natsu remembered the spell and put it on his arm so he could use it on you."

Zeref stares in shock then says, "You know, if it would only work once, then it was probably a spell requiring a human life to active. And --"

Lucy continues, "And knowing Natsu, he probably planned to use his own life so he wouldn't hurt anyone!"

Zeref says almost pissed off, "He was planning to die again after all the work I had to do to bring him back once! Sometimes I just want to kill him!"

Lucy whispers, "Please don't. He's the guy I love."

Happy yells, "Knew it!"
