Natsu was in the middle of fighting with Grey, when a knock came from the front door of the guild hall. Natsu had a bad feeling so he turned around just in time to see the door open. When he saw who came through, he was struck with fear and a desperate need to kill. It was Zeref. Natsu ran over with flaming fists and a growing fire in his belly. As he struck, he shouted, "You won't get away this time, Zeref! I'll kill you!"

When the guild heard what he said, they stood in shock. They had never met Zeref and had never heard Natsu say those words to an opponent. Not even Tartaros, and they were demons!

Then they heard these words come from zeref's mouth, "Natsu. I have come for you. I took the book of E.N.D with me when I left Tartaros. I thought maybe, just maybe, you could become strong enough in human form. But I was naive. I'm sorry Natsu. I've wanted to tell you the truth for over 16 years now, but I couldn't bare to see you become such an evil as I. So I let Igneel take you after he decided not to kill you. I thought, maybe he could stay normal. Human." They heard him sniffle a little, then he continued, "But now I realize. I must free your demon soul from this book for you to kill me."

Natsu stops his useless attacks and says, "What do you mean? And why are you saying sorry for whatever you're trying to do?

Zeref shows Natsu the book of E.N.D. and says, "Because, Natsu Dragneel, my full name is Zeref Dragneel. I'm your older brother, and you died at to young of an age so i resurrected you as a demon to kill me."

Everyone in the guild begins to gasp in shock, while Natsu stares at his brother with amazement, and confusion, but not lacking hatred. Zeref continues, "I, Zeref Dragneel, creator of the nine demon gates, older brother of Natsu, hereby release bringer of my end. Etherious Natsu Dragneel!" As he shouts this into the sky, it starts to pour, and lightning strikes down Natsu who looks as if he's in a trance. As Natsu lies still, in his transforming state, Lucy runs to his side and holds his head in her arms.

When Natsu opens his eyes, the first face he sees is Lucy's. She then says, "Oh thank god. I thought you would be hurt."

Natsu looks at Lucy and says, "I remember all of it. Everything he's said is true. I-I..." Natsu starts to cry and continues, "I am E.N.D."

Zeref looks at Natsu as if he were looking at a puppy making the puppy dog eyes. The he states, "My dear little brother. Please kill me. If you remember everything, then you should remember that your early death was all my fault." Zeref starts to cry then states, "I can't continue living with all this guilt."

Natsu looks at zeref and says, "It wasn't your fault. I died because of my own stupidity. What you should die for is turning me into a murderer after you resurrected me. You could have trained me yourself because I can't be killed by your curse, but instead you sent me to live with a parent who abandoned me. Though, I do thank you for waiting to open that book until now. Until I was strong enough not to let the demon take complete control. But..." Stands up and walks over to Zeref then says, "I refuse to kill my big brother." Then he flies out of the hall with his brother, and Lucy in his arms using his dragon wings that tore through his shirt. Lucy whispers, "Thank you Natsu, for not leaving me behind."

Happy then yells from behind, "Wait up!"
