First Week Pain

🔥Natsu's P.O.V🔥

"AAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHH!!!!" Lucy screamed.

She screamed and screamed and screamed. She hated the needles in her that kept her alive, but that's not what bothered her.

"AAAAAAAHHHHHH!!!!! I CAN'T BREATH!!!!!!!!" She screamed again.

I sat next to her, holding her cold, dry hand as the machine forced air into her. It was supposed to help her breath, or loosen her small tight lungs, but the doctors said that this could take up to a week to get used to, so that means a week of Lucy screaming, and me not being able to do anything for her. She also had to do it every three hours, meaning I won't be here for most of them.

"AAAAAHHHHHHH!!!! MAKE IT STOP!!" She kept screaming. Her hands clasped around mine every time the air went in, and she screamed when she was supposed to exhale.

I sat there, emotionally in pain for her. I simply looked at her as she went though this pain. If she were just fine, I would've teased her about taking her medications, but I couldn't even make myself laugh at that pathetic joke.

"AAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHH!!! IT HURTS! MAKE IT STOP!" She screamed one last time before the doctor came in and said that she was done for the day. He turned off the machine and walked back out.

"Why Natsu? Why is everything wrong with me?" She questioned in small, quiet breaths.

"Nothing's wrong with you. You're perfect the way you are. Now, I need to get going for school. Be alive when I come back." I said, kissing her head goodbye and pulling my backpack over my shoulder.

I wanted so badly to not go to school, but Lucy told me to so that we didn't have to redo this year of highschool again. At least, so I don't, she's still in question. She doesn't even know if she wants the surgery yet.

Once I got to school, the gang was there, and I haven't told any of them what had happened. It's only Lucy's second day in the hospital, for I had brought her in yesterday.

"Hey Natsu! Where's Lucy?" Erza asked first. I looked up and they immediately saw my swollen and tired eyes.

"What happened? Did something happen to her?" Levy shot out first.

"She didn't take her medication for her asthma, so she's in the hospital." I said bluntly.

"But, can't they just give her more medications and send her on her way?" Lisanna, who just appeared, questioned.

"Not when you're born with lungs that can't support your body." I shot back, giving her the worst death glare she's ever seen. She unconsciously took a few steps back, in fear of me.

"Hey, chill out on Lisanna. She's done nothing to you guys." Gray said.

"Actually, part of it is Lisanna's fault. Now leave me alone." I said, shoving past them and walking to Lucy's locker out of habit, then realizing that she was in the hospital.

This week was going to be painful for both of us.
