Day 10

No one's P.O.V

No one but Natsu was taking this hard. The gang acted as if nothing happened. They acted just as if they never met Lucy.

Not Natsu though.

He never showed it at school, but the moment he walked through the front doors of his and Lucy's house, his mind collapsed, and he let all of the fear, agony, pain, suffering, guilt, everything.

He's stopped eating properly around day 7. He hardly touches his lunch because the gang's around, but at home, he never has dinner.

He sits on the couch, wondering what he would've been doing if Lucy was there. Thinking about how he could've prevented this. Thinking about how meeting her in the first place caused her all of this pain. There's been times where Natsu regrets meeting Lucy. Thinking that it was his fault that all of this happened. If he had just never met Lucy, none of this, any of this, would've happened. Little voices in his head, repeating the same thing.

It was him.

"SHUT UP!" He would yell.

But that did nothing but feed his fear.

While he endured this pain, Lucy was having a good procedure so far. She was only at critical death that once 5 days ago, for two more doctors agreed to help out.

"How's she looking?" The head doctor, the one who started this, asked as she continued her work.

"She's almost ready for the fist expansion. But Ma'am, that's the most risky part. Are you sure that us three will be able to do it?" The youngest doctor their asked; his age at nearly 21.

"I made a promise, and I will keep it. I've never lost a patient and I don't plan on it. Brighten the light please." She asked the second doctor, age at 32, who brought the light closer to Lucy.

"Get the expansion out and ready. I want to have it ready by the time I get there." The main doctor said. The two went to retrieve the expansion.

One critical thing that all three doctors didn't even think to check. They keep check on Lucy's heartbeat, her breathing, her blood pressure, everything! Everything but one thing, and it's the most critical of all.

Can you guess what they had neglected to kept check of?
