No One's P.O.V
To say you had one hell of a night so far was an understatement. You got chased off a cliff by two thanators, became a mom, viperwolves tried to rip your brother and best friend's faces off, met a real life Na'vi native, saved a life, and something told you that was just the tip of the iceberg. Your night had just begun.
You were kneeling in front of Jade, rubbing the remains of the paste you made from the healing rose on her cuts. You went to do the same with Jake but when you looked to call him over, he was gone.
"Where did he go?" You asked looking around.
"Uh, y/n?" Jade said.
You looked at her and she simply pointed to the right where Jake was following the native woman deeper into the jungle... If nothing on this planet would kill him first then you would. Show him a whole new meaning to the words 'shish kebob' with that torch if he wasn't careful.
Quickly arising to your feet but being careful of your baby, you caught up to them with Jade following behind you. Jake grabbed the native woman by her arm in attempts to slow her down and thank her for killing the viperwolves, but one smack across the face with her bow knocked him to the ground. You shook your head snickering along with Jade. He honestly deserved that.
"Don't thank." The woman hissed with her bow pointed at Jake's chest.
"You don't thank for this. This is sad. Very sad only."
"Okay. Okay. I'm sorry. Whatever I did, I am sorry." Jake said with a hand up in surrender and the woman backed away. Her tail flicked agitatedly as she glared down at him.
"All this is your fault. They did not need to die." She gestured back towards the massacre.
"My fault? They attacked us and she killed one to. How am I the bad guy?" Jake defends himself, pointing at Jade, which earned him a smack upside the head with your tail. He yelps and rubs the back of his head, looking up at you.
"What? It's true!"
"Your point? If you hadn't smacked that first viperwolf to begin with, we wouldn't be in this mess." You said glaring down at him and he looked at you in disbelief.
"I was trying to protect you. And what about her?!" He exclaimed.
"I'm not saying she didn't have anything to do with it but you started it." You replied and Jade stared at you with an unappreciative glare.
"Thanks, y/n." The female sarcastically grumbled.
"Well, Jade, you did kinda help him." You looked at her and Jade looked away with a pout.
"Why are you not like her?" The native woman asked, pointing at y/n.
"She is smart and even with child she can handle herself. Or her." She pointed at Jade.
"Reckless but capable while you're like a baby. Make noise, don't know what to do."
Jake got up from the ground with his hands still out.
"Fine. Fine. If you love your little forest friends, why not let them just kill our asses then? What's the thinking?" He asked.
"Why save you?" The native woman said.
"Yeah. Yeah, why save us?" Jake said.
The woman paused and stared at Jake with a somewhat softer gaze. Her eyes traveled to you and Jade before she spoke.
"You have strong heart. No fear."
Jake watched her in silence as she slowly got into his face with her hard gaze returning.
"But stupid! Ignorant like a child." She snapped before walking off.
Jake scoffs and looks at you and Jade with a mocking look. He grabbed the torch from off the ground and just as you were about to suggest leaving the native woman alone and turning back, he was already jogging to catch up to her. You growled with your ears pinning against your head and your tail flicking in frustration. Jade made the right decision in keeping her mouth shut and going to catch up with them.
That shish kebob idea sounded really good right now...
"Well, if I'm like a child, then... Look, maybe you should teach me. Teach us." Jake said.
"Sky People cannot learn. You do not See." The native woman stated, effortlessly walking along a giant elevated root.
"Well, then teach us how to See."
"No one can teach you to See, Jake." You said, having caught up. You walked ahead with Jade, gracefully crossing the root but had to go back for Jake since he saw how high up you guys were and decided to be a wuss. No time being a bitch now when he was the one who wanted to follow the pretty native.
"Look, come on, can't we talk?" Jake pleaded, pushing past you and Jade, almost making you fall but you managed to stay steady.
"Say, where'd you learn to speak English? Dr. Augustine's school?" The male asked losing his footing but lucky him the native woman grabbed his arm and set him back on his feet.
"Is he always this damn persistent?" Jade asked.
"Only when some chick in a skirt comes batting her eyelashes, only this time, the chick is wearing next to nothing and doesn't like him." You replied, ignoring the glare Jake was sending your way.
"I just almost died for the third time today and you choose now to make fun of me?" He said.
"She caught you didn't she?" You countered.
"You're like a baby." The native woman hissed at Jake. She let out an irritable sigh, grumbling something in Na'vi.
You shook your head hopelessly at your brother's continuous pestering. His bravery and willpower was admirable but to an extent, got on your nerves. Not once in his life did this boy know when to quit.
Just as you were about to tell Jake off to figure a way back to the RDA facility, you felt something light land on your shoulder. Thinking it was a small animal, you gently scooped it up into your hand and brought it in front of you. To your surprise it was a Woodsprite or Atokirina in Na'vi. It's touch was silky soft and reminded you of a deep-sea jellyfish. You smiled as it seemed to dance in your hand. More floated down like dandelion seeds and soon coated your arms and shoulders. One even floated to your baby, who was now awake and watching it with childish curiosity. She softly gurgled as it gently booped her little nose and floated off.
"What... What are they?" Jake asked, cautiously watching you and flinching as a single woodsprite landed on him and Jade.
"Seeds of the Sacred Tree. Very pure spirits." The native woman replied, staring at you in awe.
The woodsprites slowly dispatched. And while some of them floated off, most of them stayed and seemed rather attached to you... Literally. They aligned themselves starting a little ways above the bend of your elbow, up your arm to your shoulder, across the back of your neck, and repeating on your other side before seeping into your skin. They looked like tattoos.
"What the hell just happened?" Jade said, looking over your newly marked skin in shock.
"Your guess is as good as mine." You replied before you noticed the native woman's intense gaze. She whispered something in Na'vi while glancing at Jake and Jade for a split second before looking back at you. She softly spoke.
"Come."
"Excuse you?" You said as she walked over to you and grabbed your wrist.
"Come!" She again but more firmly, pulling you along.
"Here we go again." Jade sighed following after you behind Jake.
"Where we going?" The male asked.
The native woman led you guys past a cluster of bioluminescence plants, to which Jake and Jade had to touch, and over a small cliff. She still had your wrist grasped in her hand and helped you across. She new you were more than capable of doing it yourself but you had a baby. The woman's people may not like your kind but she had to have some respect.
"Stop bothering the damn plants and let's go. If what happened with the Helicoradian happens again, you're on your own!" You yelled at the two adult children. They both turned to you to open their mouths with childish fascination but one look at your face that read 'I wish you would' shut them up and hurrying past you.
Just because they were your younger brother/best friend did not mean you were afraid to hurt them. If one more thing we're to happen, you would—
"Shit!" Jake cursed as a bola came hurdling out of nowhere, wrapping around his legs, and making him fall from the elevated roots he was running on, taking Jade with him.
Why, God? Just why?
Reader's P.O.V
'Can't a girl catch a break?!' I mentally yelled as the native woman and I ran to Jade and my brother's aid. They were surrounded by natives pointing spears and arrows at them, and even more showed up on direhorses.
Jake held his hands up in surrender, unlike Jade who was back to back with him, glancing around at the natives straight faced but a fire burned in her eyes. Luckily the thrill of a fight didn't get the best of her and along with Jake, was smart enough to drop the knives they had.
The native woman and I dropped down from a large tree branch and stood protectively in front of the two. Some of the natives called as their weapons were instantly pointed at me. I looked at them with no fear and it was a bitch to hold back a scoff. If I didn't have my little one or wanted to make peace with these people, Jade and I would of made cakework out of this. We've been surrounded by groups bigger than this.
'Calm people, calm.' The native woman spoke firmly in her tongue to her people before snapping her attention towards two male natives who, dare I say it, were fine as hell.~
They both dismounted their direhorses, disconnected their queues from the creature's antennas, and walked forward with none too pleased looks on their faces. It's like they hated us or something.
(Y'all know what Tsu'tey looks like but this is Dakarai (Dack-Are-Eye). Ignore the woman.)
'What are you doing, Tsu'tey?' The native woman asked the male who I assume was the leader of this little hunting party.
'These demons are forbidden here.' Tsu'tey replied and if looks could kill. Oh my god!
"Damn, they're hot!~" Jade said smiling shamelessly at the two males but I think that comment was mostly for the male with the straight hair swept to one side of his face. She hasn't blinked once since he got here.
"Eh, they're alright." I shrugged nonchalantly but took the liberty to lean over and glance at the two fresh apples that Tsu'tey was working with.
"Big Blue's got a nice ass. I'll give him that."
Jade and I laughed at the looks on Tsu'tey and the other male's faces. Their yellow eyes were wide in shock and a deep, dark purple spread across their faces before they looked away with a scoff.
We were gonna have fun with these two. I may not want a man but I sure as hell love to tease them. And judging by their reactions, I'd say they understood English.
'There had been a sign.' The native woman said, drawing the attention back to her. 'This is a matter for the Tsahik.'
Tsu'tey sent a dirty look towards Jake, Jade, and I before sharing a glance with the male next to him and mounting his direhorse.
'Bring them.'
"What's going on?" Jake asked the native woman before both he and Jade were roughly grabbed by the natives and forced along with handmade knives threatening to slice their queues if they tried something funny.
Two unknown males went to do the same to me but I wasn't having it. A piercing glare and a low warning hiss was enough for them to take caution.
'I can walk myself, thank you. I have had a long ass day, so if you value the ability to reproduce and have the thing that defines the two of you as male still attached to your bodies, don't touch me or my baby.~ ' I seethed Na'vi in a deadly low voice just to make sure I got the point across. And judging by these two visibly paling and staring at me with wide, fearful eyes, I'd say it did.
The rest of the natives all watched me as I walked by. I could feel Tsu'tey's sharp eyes watching me as I made it to the head of the group. I glanced up at him and saw something in them that I couldn't quite figure.
Recognition? Interest? Ugh, I'm too tired for this shit. The only thing I care about at the present moment is food and a bed.
~Time Skip~
After what seemed like miles of racing through the jungle and a severely unwanted workout, we finally came across a giant tree that many Na'vi natives called home. Hometree. I marveled at the 10,000 year-old relics beauty.
It was even more magnificent up close then through Grace's e-mails. But what comes in beauty is usually followed by danger. Jade, Jake and I were in the Omaticaya's domain now.
We were forced inside where many natives watched us with either fear or curiosity. Some even touched us as we walked by and soon we were presented in front of someone I never thought I'd meet. The Omaticaya Clan Leader, Eytukan.
'Father...' The native woman said, stepping forward and greeting the Olo'eyktan. 'I see you.'
Wait a minute, he's her father? Oh, my God. I've been walking around with the Clan's princess and I didn't even know it.
Eytukan walked over to us and as he passed by, stared at Jake and Jade with disgust plain as day. But when he got to me, his eyes held interest and curiosity and I knew he was looking at my hair and arms.
'These creatures... why do you bring them here?' He asked, turning his attention back to his daughter.
'I was going to kill them... but there was a sign from Eywa.' Neytiri tried explaining but like with every dad where it's his way or the highway...
'I have said... no dreamwalker will come here. Their alien smell fills my nose.' Eytukan said, earning laughs from his people and an attempted snarky remark from Jade
'Piss off, Papa Smurf- OUCH!!' The female yelped after being smacked upside the head by the bow of one of the natives behind her.
'Thank you.' I gave them an appreciative smile which only got me a side glance in return... Tough crowd.
"Hey, you guys gonna fill me in or what?" Jake piped up. And just as I was about to answer, Neytiri beat me to it.
"My father is deciding whether to kill you." She said.
"Your father. It's nice to meet you, sir." Jake said, going to shake Eytukan's hand but I was quick to grab him by the collar of his shirt and force him back as the natives all hissed at him. I stared exasperatedly at these two before looking away while hopelessly shaking my head.
'Why am I the only smart one in this group?' I thought and just when I thought things couldn't get any worse, for the fourth time today, I was proven wrong.
A voice yelled out catching everyone's attention. A beautiful Na'vi woman came down the spiral elevated root leading higher into Hometree. Like Eytukan, she was older and surprise, surprise she just so happens to be his mate.
'Step back! I will look at these aliens.'
