Sarah

*Sarah's point of view*

I ran down the corridor, a siren blared out, letting every one know that someone had done a crime. Although the lights were not on, the flashing red warning lights lit up the space and I used it to run from the police that were on my tail.

I skidded around a corner turning left holding onto the wall due to the wet floor, to stop myself from falling.

I raced towards a door that was beckoning to me to escape it and opened it but came face to face with about five more stern looking police with their guns pointing at me.

I gasped and turned away to try and find a different way but found the others police officers had caught up.

I tried to barge past them but it didn't work and I was handcuffed and pushed into a police car where I was taken to the nearby station.

I half heartedly yanked at my handcuffs which were attached to my chair when a high ranked personnel walked into the room.

"Sarah Palin, you have been caught, again, stealing food that's not rightfully yours." The man told me as he sat down and opened up my thick file and scratched his two day old stubble.

"By this time we would be telling you your execution date and time ordinarily, but this isn't normal. Far from it." The man leaned forwards towards me resting his arms on the table. "I've got a proposition for you" he smiled.

The execution date! I didn't realize my crimes had got that severe, there again though, the Government doesn't want the trouble makers like me to be trouble makers for long.

"And what is this, proposition?" I asked.

"So, are you familiar with the planet Pandora?" He asked.

I remembered the news about five years ago when there was the Emergency Planet Evacuation or the, EPE, came back home in failure after the Na'vi won a huge battle against them and they were escorted off the planet.

"Yeah, I know about the battle between them and we lost. What's it to do with me?" I shrugged.

"Well, we've planned to go back there, and we need your help." The man said leaning back.

"You crazy?! I shouted. "Theres no way we can go back. Not when we lost!"

"And yet we must. Earth is dying, we've ruined it and we're now seeing the consequences of it. We must go there or our race will wipe our selves out." The man told me.

"And you need me to go there- for what exactly?" I frowned.

"You show initiative with your crimes and such like and we need that initiative on our mission."

"Mission? What mission?" I asked.

"Thats for me to know, not you. You've got a choice Sarah. Live and go to Pandora, or chose to die tomorrow morning. Make your decision. I'll be back in a few minutes." The man rose and I listened to the click of the door behind him.

I sighed and thought about the offer. They obviously thought I would die when I got there, like I would here, but perhaps if there was say, an attack from one of the animals that lived there and I could escape.... I could be off grid and because they wouldn't particularly care about me, I could live in the planet and they wouldn't look for me!

"So, have you made your decision?"

I jumped in my seat when I the man said that. I hadn't heard him come in.

"It looks like you've got one more member." I smiled.

The man burst into a happy smile. "Excellent! Shall we get started then?" The man clapped his hands and then rubbed them like he was warming them up and two nurses came in.

"What are they doing here?" I asked as the nurses came towards me with needles.

"We need to do some blood samples. We've decided to put you on the Avatar group, if we find the your blood ok, if not, then we'll make you into an ordinary soldier." The man smirked at the sight of me trying to move away from the needle. "It would be better if you relaxed and stopped moving."

I sighed and let them take my blood.

"Sarah, your now under the EPE2 and you must come with us to a secure training and living place where the people involved are living and training for trip ahead. There you will be held in a cell there where you will be watched twenty-four seven till we take off from Earth so as to stop you from trying to escape. We've lost too many valuable people like you from trying to escape and dying."

"Too many valuable people like me? don't give me that bullshit! the only 'valuable' thing about 'people like me' is the fact that it doesn't matter if I die or not, on that planet. That's the only reason that you want me, isn't it?" I snorted.

The man just looked at me.

"Look, tell me the truth, I know it is, I mean, we're taking food, more food than we need, because we're too poor to pay for the one meal a day and we're forced to do stuff we wouldn't normally do. If I had the choice, I wouldn't do it. I know your thinking that you couldn't see me not doing it, but its true. If I am gonna die, and I believe that I will, on that planet, then I at least deserve to know before I do, if that truly is the reason.

I'm not saying I wont hate you, cuz I will, and there's nothing you can do about it, but it'll just show to me that your trusting me with something that you wouldn't normally tell. Then I can trust you to tell me the complete truth on the planet and I wont have to worry about, is there a different reason for doing this or that? Is there a different way of doing things? it'll set my mind at ease."

The man looked at me with his arms closed for a while before taking a deep breath and unfolding them. "I like you Sarah, I do. You've got courage to speak your mind, even though it could get you into trouble, and it most probably will on the planet, but yes, it is true. And for the record, I hate doing this job, sending people to their deaths, just because they were too poor to pay for the basic stuff."

The man walked out and I was left at the mercy of nurses as they washed me and gave me some military blue camouflage clothes to change into.
