Wife's Duty
Part 31
" I will make Khushi as my Bhabi" The man did what he said. AMAN. Arnav felt so proud to have such a friend. He broke the hug.
Arnav: I can understand your point but what about Khushi? I'm happy that she is my wife. But how could we take a decision of her life? We are forcing her yaar. He said worriedly.
Aman(thinking about her childhood engagement): I will try to clear it to you as much as possible. Until then please don't ask me anything. Now make Khushi realize that she is your WIFE.
Arnav(painfully): But she removed my Mangal sutra.
Aman(shocked): What? Did she return it back to you?
Arnav(nodding no): No. neither she wore nor she returned it.
Aman(frowning): something is really fishy. How a girl who respects morals can do that?
Arnav: I can't understand anything Aman. This girl will make me mad for sure.
Aman(teasingly): I think she has already done.
Arnav(chuckled): Thank you buddy for being with me. but how did you implement everything like, it happened by it's own?
Aman: It was not just a plan which was plotted in a day. I was waiting for a chance for long. I asked hp to inform me whenever Khushi went out. Luckily she asked help from Hp in searching the Temple to do pooja for her father's death anniversary and it was on Valentine's Day. Hp called me and told. I suggest the Temple which was located out strike of Delhi to implement my plan.
Arnav: Even Hp is your crime partner?
Aman: We are not crime partners but similar in our fidelities. (Arnav looked at him lovingly) I know Khushi is having some feelings for you (Arnav raised his eye brows like "really?") but she is struggling to get rid of her engagement. If Khushi want to hold this relationship then we should provide her the grip she wants. What else it can be more than a Marriage? Now let her decide which one is important, either Marriage or Engagement?
Arnav: what about that video?
Aman: If she is still having confusion in selecting you then I thought to give it to Madhumathiji. So she would not have any choice than you. (he said plainly)
Arnav(hurriedly): No. don't do that.
Aman: yah. I won't do it until she decides leaving you.
Arnav(chuckled): she is going to kill both of us for sure if she gets to know about the truth.
Aman: But in future she will thank me.(he smiled)
Arnav was happy about his friend and Khushi. Yes she is his wife. That's more than enough to hold her with him. She should accept him without any choice. Let her relax for some time.
Arnav thought about the rain.
Arnav: What about lady staffs Aman?
Aman: There is no one in the office. I sent everyone home and asked them to work from home.
Arnav: Good.
Aman: ok you take some rest. I will take care of everything.
Aman left Arnav's cabin and Arnav lay on the coach to take some rest with peace of mind.
Evening.
Arnav woke up from his sleep. He was tired because of his cold and slight fever. After taking medicine and rest he felt a bit better. Aman came in to his cabin.
Aman: ASR I sent all the male staffs too. Rain is getting worse. Just check the weather report. Delhi is drowning yaar. It seems to be record breaking February rain.
Arnav: Then I'm leaving.
Aman: How will you go? The entire roads got blocked. Traffic jammed all over Delhi. You can't go home today. Stay at office. I just came to say that to you.
Arnav: No, I can't Aman. Khushi is alone. No one is there at home. I can't stay here. She may feel scared. What if she needs anything?
Aman: But you will get stuck in traffic for the whole day if you go, then what's the point?
Arnav: Who said that I'm going by car?
Aman(frowning): then?
Arnav: by walk..
Aman: What? Are you mad? It's not a good idea Arnav and you are not feeling well too.
Arnav: I will be ok if I reach home or else I can't be peaceful here. I'm going.
Aman: At least take umbrella.
Arnav: ok yaar.
Arnav left AR by walk tying a hand kerchief till his eyes to keep cameras away from him. It was not easy as he thought at one stage. The umbrella flew away in the heavy wind. He kept on walking in the water while drenching.
RM
Khushi was all alone at home. She was nervous about continues heavy rain. That's when she received the call. It was Aman.
Aman: Khushi are you ok?
Khushi: jee bhaiya.
Aman: Arnav is coming home by walking and he had fever. please take care of him.
Khushi: why did you allow him to do so? It's raining nonstop and traffic is jammed all over Delhi.
Aman: Do you think, I wouldn't have stopped him? He was adamant in coming home because you are alone. He won't ask you anything. That's why I called you to convey the message. Please take care of him.
Khushi closed her eyes feeling disappointed.
Khushi: I will take care of him.
Aman cut the call spilling a content smile. He knew after knowing that Arnav is coming home by walking, Khushi couldn't sit quite.
Aman was right. Khushi started roaming here and there in living room all tensed. Why is he doing this? what if she is alone at home? As time passed, her tension raised. At last Arnav came home after one and half hours.
Khushi stopped roaming and rushed to him.
Khushi: What's all this? why are you risking when you have fever? Look at yourself. What if anything happens...
Arnav(cutting her): what if anything happens to me? Is there anyone to care for me?
Saying he went crossing shocked Khushi. "Is there anyone to care for me?" it stabbed her heart. She rushed to the kitchen to prepare soup for Arnav. Her eyes were spilling tears on his statement. She felt helpless.
She prepared the soup taking time because Arnav needed some time to get fresh. That's when she could serve hot soup. She went to his room taking the bowl. Arnav saw her coming inside without knocking. She saw him sneezing.
She gave the bowl to him looking at him sternly. He didn't deny as he need something hot inside his "too cold body". Khushi left the room immediately. Arnav smirked at her.
Night
Arnav didn't come down nor did he ask anything. Khushi took his dinner and went to his room as he had to take medicine after having dinner. When she entered his room, she was dumb founded seeing him inside the quilt shivering. She kept the plate on the table and reached him.
Khushi: Arnavji.. What happen to you?
Arnav jaws were trembling. He couldn't even answer her. In fact he was not in his sense. His body was getting colder. Khushi could feel he was losing his consciousness. She was worried. Worried like hell. She started rubbing his palm and foot applying some balm on it. But nothing worked. His body was trembling. Khushi was horrified. She removed all the blankets from the wardrobe and covered Arnav. Still there was no change. He was blabbering something in his semi conscious state. Khushi heard it acutely. It was nothing but "Khushi". She took her phone and dialed Sara's number. She received it.
Khushi(panicking) : Aunty..
Sara sensed tension in khushi's voice.
Sara: Khushi, what happened? Are you ok?
Khushi: Aunty Arnavji is shivering in extreme cold. I don't know what to do. I'm scared aunty. She cried.
Sara: Khushi relax. Put some more blankets on him to control the coldness.
Khushi: I already tried everything aunty. She said helplessly.
Sara: oh God. I can't even reach there now. Traffic is worsening in the capital. Aman is not at home. what to do?
Khushi: I will ask security to bring medicine from the nearby shop if you prescribe.
Sara: Didn't you watch the News? It's government's order to shut the shops and offices. There won't be any shop in this torrential rain Khushi.
Khushi: I'm scared aunty. Arnavji is shivering like hell. He is blurting in his semi consciousness aunty.
Sara(purposely): what he is blurting?
Khushi was stuck.
Khushi: ohh. I couldn't understand. Aunty, please do something to save his life.
Sara: I too don't know what to do Khushi. I wish he would have married. Then situation will be different.
Khushi(curiously): What was that aunty?
Sara: leave it Khushi, we can do nothing. Only his WIFE can.
Khushi: please tell me aunty, please. She pleaded.
Sara told her the only solution which can save Arnav's life in that critical state without medicine.
Khushi sat with thud looking at shivering Arnav spilling tears.
