Tu hi mere hothon ki khilti hui si hansi... gila bhi piya tu hi

Title is the song 'Yeh ishq haye' from movie 'Jab We Met'

Ramdhari handed a transparent box with a packet covered in foil to Naina when she came down from her room, all dressed up for the road trip.

"Naina bhabhi, humne alu ke paranthe bana diye hain, raaste ke liye." He smiled brightly.

Naina was surprised, "Aap itni subah uth ke yeh sab kar rahe the, Ramdhari bhaiya? Aapko pareshan nahi hona chahiye tha, hum kahin bhi khaa lete."

"Hamari amma kehti hain koi bahar jaaye toh saath mein khana zarur hona chahiye. Ghar se door ghar ka ahsaas khushi deta hai." Ramdhari explained with sincerity.

Naina took the box from him, her eyes turning misty, "Meri mumma bhi aisa hi kehti thi."

"Naina. Samaan dekh lo... kuch reh toh nahi gaya." Sameer's voice from living room made her quickly go out.

She had brought the samaller bag when she came down and he now carried the bigger one.

"Bas yeh dono bags hi the." She smiled at him.

Ramdhari rushed ahead, "Laiye Sameer bhaiya, hum aapki gaadi mein rakh dete hain."

As he was lifting the bags, nanu walked out of his room. Sameer and Naina wished him. He patted their heads, "Sambhal ke jaana. Aur phone karte rehna."

"Jee nanu. Aap apna khyal rakhiye." Naina smiled warmly.

Ever since she had come to the house, she had been cautious about nanu's health, taking care of his diet, medicines, exercise and not letting him work much.

He smiled tenderly, "Main ab bilkul fit hun beta. Tum meri fiqr mat karo. Ayush ke saath khelte khelte mujhe lagta hai meri umr pehle se kam ho gayi hai."

"Aap khud ko thakayenge nahi. Aur Ayush agar zid kare toh daant dijiye." She worriedly adviced him.

Nanu pointed at Sameer, "Yeh jo tera pati hai na, isko tak nahi daanta maine kabhi. Toh tumhare bete ko kaise gussa kar sakta hun. Lekin tum tension mat lo. Mujhe aisa hi... balki aur bhi tandarust paogi jab tum log wapas aaoge."

Naina nodded, silently crossing her fingers as she prayed for the same.

"Chalein?" Sameer asked after they were seated in the car.

His eyes roamed over her as she dipped her head. Dressed in jeans and a lose hoodie, her hair tied in a pony, she looked fresh and beautiful. He inhaled deeply, absorbing the feeling that he was actually going on honeymoon... with his wife... his Naina. She looked the same as she was earlier... yet so different. He had seen her in this hoodie several times, but her henna coloured hands brought such a huge change in her look. She wasn't wearing any makeup, except a hint of sindoor... and it made him swell up in pride.

"You look beautiful... wife." He grazed his fingers on her cheek.

Her shy smile, at both his compliment and the way he called her his wife, urged him to begin the journey quick... and reach their destination.

After they left the internal roads behind and reached the flyover that stretched for kilometres, Naina opened her window, feeling the cold morning air on her face. With almost no cars around, it felt liberating. As the first hint of light cut through the darkness of night, colouring the horizon with a myriad of colours, she remembered a similar journey she had taken about a year back... from Agra to Delhi, watching the colours of sky from her car. She wasn't aware then, that she was moving towards sunrise... leaving the night of her life behind, to the city where a new day awaited her.

"Kya soch rahi ho?" Sameer's voice brought her back to present.

She turned to look at the man who was responsible for everything in her life... everything that she smiled about.

"Yehi ki tumne meri life kaise badal di hai." She could never thank him enough.

He turned his face to look at her, "Aur tumne mere saare sapne poore kar diye."

She gave him an inquisitive look. Seeing his gaze on her, she put one hand on his cheek and turned his face towards the road, "Drive karte hue aage dekho."

Sameer smiled as he reminisced, "Bilkul aisa hi socha tha maine... mera tumko baar baar dekhna, aur tumhara aise mujhe daantna, road pe dhyan dene ko kehna."

He gave her a quick glance, "Jab hum Westin jaa rahe toh aise sapne dekh raha tha main... ki ek din tum aur main... long drive... kahin door... akele..."

She again placed her palm on his jaw when his face remained turned in her direction. Sameer moved his gaze back to road, but only after taking her hand in his hold. He brought it to his lips, and kissed her fingers.

Naina made no effort to pull back her hand when he kept his fingers linked with hers as he drove. They were out of the city limits now, and the wide highway too had very less traffic, being early hours.

"Tumhe bhook lagi hogi na... kahin ruk ke paranthe kha lein?" She asked after some time.

"Thoda aage jaa ke ek achhi jagah hai. Wahan rukenge." Sameer checked the map and informed her.

"Ab toh bata do hum kahan jaa rahe hain." She tried again.

He smirked, "Tumhe mountains pasand hain na. Bas wahin."

Naina pouted, "Offo utna toh pata chal gaya. Snow mountains pe hi hoti hai beaches pe nahi. Lekin konsi jagah... Shimla, Manali, Mussoorie... kahan?"

He winked, "Are you sure yeh betabi sirf jagah ke liye hai... ya mere saath wahan teen din akele rehne ke liye."

Her cheeks coloured up. She looked away, wondering how he could bring the same referance in whatever they talked about.

After a drive of about twenty minutes, they reached a fairly large arena, which had several restaurants. There was a big seating area inside, and a vast garden behind the structure. That is where Sameer liked to sit whenever they came to this place.

"Yahan coffee hamare taste ki nahi hai lekin chai bohot achhi milti hai." He explained after ordering tea for both of them.

The tea was indeed quite good, and sitting under the umbrella in a quiet corner, Naina enjoyed the breakfast of alu paranthe with her husband who insisted that she fed him.

"Tum Ayush jaise bachhe ban jaate ho kabhi kabhi." She looked around, conscious of the few people who were seated at other tables.

"Kyonki tum sabse zyada pyar Ayush ko hi toh karti ho." He gave her an innocent smile.

She looked at him for a few seconds, then said in a soft voice, "Main tumse bhi utna hi pyar karti hun Sameer. I swear."

He dragged his chair next to hers, and wrapped an arm around her shoulders, "Mujhe tumhare pyar pe tabse yakeen hai Naina jab tumne shayad khud bhi accept nahi kiya tha. Ek secret bataun."

She craned her neck to look at him.

"Sirf ek Ayush hai jisse mujhe kabhi jealous feel nahi hota. Warna tumhe kisi ke bhi kareeb nahi dekh paata. Tum Preeti ya Vedika ko hug karo... utna bhi nahi." He stated without any remorse.

"Kyonki tum Ayush se pehle hi bohot jal chuke... jab usse jaante tak nahi the." She giggled, teasing him.

Sameer scrunched his nose, "Woh main... tab mujhe laga... yaar, bas misunderstanding ho gayi thi. Sorry."

Seeing his adorable expression, Naina couldn't stop herself, and lifted her chin to peck on his cheek.

"Arre waah. Aajkal tumhe bhi meetha achha lagne laga hai." He winked.

"Maine diya hai, liya thodi." She said nonchalantly.

"Oh, let's correct that. Tum bhi le lo." His arm slipped to her waist as he pulled her closer.

"Sameer. Yahan itne log hain." Naina panicked, pushing him.

Frowning, he stood up, "Let's go. Yahan sabke beech mein baith ke time kyon waste karna. Mujhe jaldi se jaldi pohonchana hai."

"Kahan?" She asked, hoping he blurts out the place in same flow.

He wasn't that easy to fool. Giving her a lopsided smile, he said in a husky voice, "Wahin... jahan koi aata jaata nahi."

They hit the road again as day slowly changed into noon. Though it was just the end of February, bright sun made the day appear hotter. Seeing the road signs for Karnal, Naina was sure they were headed to Shimla. She had been there once. Though it was a beautiful town, she didn't much like the fact that it was extremely crowded. But with Sameer, any place would be beautiful. She wondered why he wanted to keep it a secret. Since previous night, she had asked him several times, directly or trying to trick him to reveal, but he didn't mention it even once. She recalled their previous night's conversation after he told her they were leaving early next day.

"Honeymoon?" She stared at him as if he had said they were going to the moon.

Sameer started  to take slow steps towards her, "Haan Naina, honeymoon... woh jo shaadi ke baad hota hai... jahan sirf do log hote hain... koi disturb karne wala nahi... kahin jaane ki jaldi nahi... kisi se milne ki zarurat nahi...din bhi apne, raat bhi apni... aur bas..."

"Bas karo." She interrupted him, breathless.

He had reached her, wrapped one arm around her waist, and had started to trace one finger down her face, which now reached the pendant of their names.

"Bas kyon? Tumhe agar pata nahi hai honeymoon ke baare mein... toh mujhe theek se explain karne do na." His voice was husky.

"Mujhe pata hai." The words tumbled out in natural reaction, making her go red when she saw the glint in his eyes.

Sameer traced the back of his fingers along her neck, "Toh tum explain kar do mujhe. Let's compare notes."

"Shut up." She burned at his suggestive talks, holding his hand to draw it away from her neck, "Main isliye keh rahi hun ki hum aise kaise... matlab Ayush ko yahan akele chod ke... mummy ke liye bohot kaam badh jayega."

Sameer looked into her eyes intently, "Ayush unka grandson hai. Aur uske liye kaam karna unhe achha lagta hai... jaise nanu mere liye khushi se sab karte hain. Naina, Ayush is a part of our whole family. Sab hain uske liye. Aur usse pata hai hum jaa rahe hain. He's okay with it."

Naina was surprised, "Usse bhi pata hai? Usko kya kaha tumne?"

He smiled, "Maine nahi, nanu ne usse bataya ki humein office ke kaam se kuch dinon ke liye bahar jaana hai. Jab unhone pucha ki woh yahan sabke saath rahega ya hamare saath jana chahega, Ayush ne kaha woh yahin rehna chahta hai."

He quoted Ayush's words as nanu had told him... 'Office ke kaam ke liye main kyon jaun? Main toh aapke paas rahunga. Dadu mujhe terrace pe jhoola jhulayenge, aap mere saath garden mein khelna, Deepika bua mujhe movies dikhayengi aur dadi maa ne kaha woh mere liye mushroom soup banayengi. Aur ice cream bhi laake dengi. Rohan chachu toh mujhe mall bhi leke jaayenge. Aur Preeti maasi bhi saath chalengi. Mujhe sabke saath bohot mazaa aata hai.'

The fact that it was Ayush's decision to stay back with the family that he had grown to love so much, and which loved him equally, made Naina overwhelmed. She realised how much he was missing a family of his own when they were alone.

"Ab aise hi khayalon mein khoyi rahogi ya packing karogi." Sameer shook her slightly.

She placed a kiss on his jaw, once again thankful for changing everything in her life.

He lowered his head, eyeing her lips, "Hum apna honeymoon abhi se start kar sakte hain."

She pushed at his chest, "Packing karne ko bola na tumne. Hato, mujhe jaane do."

Though it was a great effort, he did let her go. They had to leave quite early the next morning.

"Yeh toh batao jaana kahan hai. Uske hisaab se packing karungi na." Naina stood in front of open cupboard.

"Umm... wahan snow hai." Sameer did not dwell into more details, picking out his quilted jackets.

She pestered him to know the place but he did not tell her, saying that it was in the hills, where it had been snowing for some time. Sighing, she gave up and selected thick woollens.

After packing, and changing into her comfortable clothes, Naina slipped into the bed, next to Sameer.

He took her in his arms, placing a kiss on her forehead, "Goodnight jaan. Aaj tum achhe se rest karlo. Kyonki kal se tumhe sone dene ka mera koi irada nahi hai."

She wondered how he could give a chaste kiss, with an innocent good night and twist his next words to extremely suggestive.

"Tum hamesha car travel mein aise hi lost rehti ho? Khud drive karte time bhi?" She turned abruptly at Sameer's question.

"Main lost nahi hun. Yeh soch rahi hun ki tum mujhe bata kyon nahi rahe hum kahan jaa rahe hain." She countered.

He shrugged, "Bas aise hi... surprise dene ke liye. After all, surprises sabko achhe lagte hain na."

She tried again, to hear the destination from him, but he still wasn't ready to say it. However, now she was sure as she saw the milestone for Chandigarh coming to view. By the time they touched the highway towards Shimla, it was past one.

"Sameer, hum lunch time tak Shimla pohonch jayenge na?" She asked casually.

"Nahi." His reply was quick.

"Toh phir pehle hi kahin kha lenge. Tumhe bhook lagti hai toh tum kudkud karne lagte ho." She gave him a side glance.

"Kudkud?" He was shocked, "Naina, tum honeymoon pe jaa rahi ho. Thodi toh romantic baatein karo. Tumne toh abhi se meri buraiyan ginwani shuru kar di."

"Isme burai kya hai? Fact hai. Tum office mein kisi se bhi puch lo. I won't be surprised agar unhone tumhara naam Kudkud Kumar bhi rakh diya ho." She flicked her brows.

"Kud whatt? Mere achhe khaase naam ka aisa kachra kisne kiya? Batao mujhe. Uski job toh gayi. Main dekhta hun mujhe aise kehne wala kaise office mein rehta hai. Main aur kud... whatever. Arre main toh kabhi gussa tak nahi karta. Gusse ka G bhi nahi pata mujhe. Sabse pyar se baat karo toh yeh milta hai. Wow. Maine kabhi kisi ko..."

Naina's loud laughter made him stop his rant. He gave her a quick look, maneuvering the car on twisted roads.

"Sameer, tumhe... aur gusse ka G bhi nahi pata!" She held her stomach and doubled over in her seat, "Tumhe toh A to Z pata hai gusse ka... capital aur small dono."

"Naina." He wrinkled his brows, "Tum bhi mujhe hi galat bologi? Tum wife ho meri. Har baat mein mera saath dena chahiye. Aur tum mujhpe hans rahi ho... woh bhi kab... jab hum apne honeymoon pe jaa rahe hain. Itni dry biwi toh kisi ki nahi hogi. Ekdum hot aur handsome husband saath hai lekin tumhe office ke logon ke rakhe hue naam yaad aa rahe hain. Isse achha toh hum aate hi nahi."

She couldn't control herself at his childish grumbling, even when her eyes started to tear up because of continue laughter.

Sameer brought the car to a halt. He looked at her, doubling up as she clutched her belly with both hands, happy tears flowing down the sides of her eyes. His job was done. He had successfully diverted her attention enough that she didn't notice when they left the road to Shimla and turned in a different direction.

"Achha baba sorry. Lekin tum ruk kyon gaye. Chalo. Humein shaam se pehle pohonch jaana chahiye." Naina wiped her eyes, when she could take a break from her laugh.

"Hum aa gaye... jahan aana tha." He stated.

She looked outside, startled. They were parked outside a massive villa. It was a hilly town, but it wasn't Shimla.

"Yeh kaunsi jagah hai?" She gave him a confused look.

Sameer got out of the car, went towards her side, opening her door and offered his hand. She stepped out, looking around in a daze. With just a few houses on the street, it appeared so quiet and laidback that she instantly fell in love with the place. It must have snowed a couple of days back, as the traces could be seen on streets. Sloping red rooftops of houses were covered with soft white layer When she turned her gaze ahead, snow covered mountains could be seen, glimmering in sunlight.

Sameer held her hand and moved towards one of the houses. He pushed open the gate, and entered.

Naina's mouth fell open.

The board outside the villa read

Naina Sameer Maheshwari

She stood transfixed.

"Yeh hai shaadi ka gift. Maine tumhe ab tak nahi diya tha na. Yeh hamara ghar hai Naina, Kasauli ke pahadon mein." Sameer said with a smile.
