Teri ore mujhko leke chalein... yeh duniya bhar ke sab raaste

Title is the song 'Soch n sake' from movie 'Airlift'

"Sir, aapka orange juice." The boy placed both glasses in front of Sameer.

Naina stifled a laugh, seeing Sameer relax a bit when the boy did not address her. Once he was gone, after Sameer told him that he had already given the order at the counter, Naina's hand meandered to his tight fist on the table. She slipped her fingers through his palm, loosening his fist, and linked her fingers with his. His eyes darted to their hands, then to her face. She raised her brows, still holding back her smile. First thing he did was to bring their joined hands to his lips, and planted a kiss on her knuckles.

"Tab bhi karna chahta tha. Lekin himmat nahi hui." He said with a contented smile.

Naina looked into his eyes, "Jinki nazren sirf ek doosre pe hon, unhe kise ke aane, ya jaane se koi farq nahi padta."

The surprise was quite evident on his face. She had said exactly the same thing to Kamya that night. But now, she had directed it to him. And he knew why.

"Umm... mujhse dekha nahi jaata... jab koi tumhe dekhta hai toh." He defended himself, giving an angry shake of head.

She was overwhelmed by his possessiveness.

"Kisi ke dekhne se kuch nahi hota, Sameer. Main kabhi notice tak nahi karti koi dekhta hai ya nahi. Pehle kisi aur reason se nahi karti thi... ab mujhe sirf tumhari aankhon mein apna chehra nazar aata hai aur mere liye woh sab kuch hai." She said in a reassuring voice.

His brows creased, recalling something, then he remarked, "Jaise subah tumhe koi farq nahi pada tha, jab woh ladki mere paas aayi thi, haina?"

Her cheeks reddened. She lowered her eyes, "Woh alag baat thi. Usne directly tumpe... tumhe... tumse baat ki thi."

He smirked at her fumbling, "Isliye tumne uski aisi class li ki woh apni niece ko bhool ke wahan se bhaag gayi."

"I don't think uski koi niece thi bhi. Woh sirf tumse baat karne ka bahana tha." She said sharply, looking up.

"How do you know?" Her jealousy made his heart swell.

Naina hesitated before replying in a low voice, "Jaise Kamya ke baare mein pata chala... waise hi."

"Umm, achha ab batao... MKK ka matlab kya hota hai?" The word was stuck in his mind and he found this to be the perfect time to ask.

"MKK?" She tried to feign ignorance.

"Tumne kaha tha na. What does it mean? Kuch mere liye hi hai par kya?" He was adamant.

Naina recalled hearing this term from Sanya once in her early days in office. She had used it for Sameer. Naina hadn't bothered to think much of it that time, but she was indeed amazed how it had stayed in her mind.

"Tumhe Sanya yaad hai? Production department mein thi." She said after a thoughtful pause.

"Of course yaad hai. Tumhari dost thi. Maine bohot baar tumhare group ko cafe mein dekha tha." He did not clarify that 'bohot bar' meant almost every day.

"She... liked you." Naina stated.

Sameer raised his brows, "Oh! Uski bhi class li thi kya, jo aaj achanak yaad aa gayi... ya phir tumse darr kar hi bhag gayi woh bhi." He chuckled.

Naina blushed, shaking her head, "Jab tak woh thi tab tak mujhe aisa kuch feel nahi hua tha... shayad."

"Shayad?" Sameer was once again perplexed.

"Mujhe aane ke first week mein hi pata chal gaya tha ki woh tumhe pasand karti hai. Aur yeh bhi ki tum kisi ko dekhte tak nahi. Vedika aur Farhan ne kai baar Sanya ko samjhaya ki usse tumhare baare mein koi expectation nahi rakhni chahiye kyonki tumne kabhi kisi mein interest dikhaya hi nahi tha."

Sameer listened intently. He didn't know office staff talked about his personal life to this extent.

Naina lowered her eyes, biting her lip, "Tab Sanya ne ek din kaha tha... pata nahi mujhe kaise achanak aaj yaad aa gaya."

"Kya kaha tha?" Sameer asked eagerly.

Naina looked away, tucking her hair behind her ear, "Usne kaha tha... uhh... 'main kisi aur ke malai ke katore pe thodi nazar daal rahi hun, as long as he's not committed I can always try'... MKK means malai ka katora."

"What?? Malai..." Sameer burst out laughing, "Malai ka... katora?" His shoulders shook as peals of laughter erupted from him, "Naina... yeh kaisa... naam hai? Malai ka katora! Why did she call me that?"

She sat still, watching him double over, holding his stomach. She never thought why Sanya called him by this name. Maybe she had some more names for him. She cursed herself silently, for not paying attention to her talks about Sameer. At least she would have known what all special names Sanya had crafted for him.

A sound of clearing throat brought her out of her irked thoughts.

"Kya hua?" He nudged her.

"Sanya ki uss waqt kahi hui baat mujhe ab tak kaise yaad hai?" She wondered aloud.

"Tumhe bhi lagta hun kya... malai ka katora?" He  leaned, whispering in a suggestive voice.

She was thankful to the server who came over with their dinner, and she didn't have to answer. She was still shy to accept to him that she agreed with Sanya one hundred percent.

Dinner was more of a necessity, since they were seated in a restaurant, and their table was laden with the food they had ordered... they were already satiated being with each other.

After the formality of dinner was done, Sameer slid one arm around her waist, dragging her closer, "Aaj pata hai kya hai?"

She did not object to the closeness, which was becoming as essential for her now as it was for him. Thinking for a while about what he said, she shrugged when the date didn't ring any bell.

"Date se nahi, jagah se yaad karo." He again pushed her hair behind her ear, which were let lose by the breeze.

She had no confusion about the place, whatsoever, "Jagah wohi hai, jahan pehli baar humne ek doosre se apne dil ki baat kahi thi. Uss waqt sab kuch sach hote hue bhi humne usse acting ka naam diya tha... hum dono ne."

"But I was happy... very happy." He said genuinely, "Maine tumse jo bhi kaha, woh main kabse kehna chahta tha, aur uss din mauka mil gaya."

She had felt it to be too real that night, and now she knew why... it WAS real.

"Sameer, uss din tumhari aankhon mein jo dekha, main darr gayi thi. Kyonki tumhari aankhon mein sach nazar aa raha tha... aur mujhe laga aisa hona impossible hai. Maine toh sapne mein bhi kabhi nahi socha tha tum mere liye aisa feel kar sakte ho. To be honest, main nahi chahti thi tum mere liye kuch bhi feel karo because I was not worth it. Main tumhari life mein khushiyan chahti thi jo mere saath tumhe nahi mil paati. Isliye main tumhe apne kareeb dekhne ki himmat sapne mein bhi nahi kar paayi." His every emotion from that night was vivid in her mind.

"Mere liye khushi ka matlab tum ho, Naina. Tum meri zindagi ho. Tumhare bina rehne ka main soch bhi nahi sakta. I want you with me forever... not for a day, month or year... but for lifetime. Kabhi mujhse door toh nahi jaogi na?" Sameer repeated what he had said then, with the same intensity in his voice.

Her eyes turned misty as she shook her head. Unlike previous time, she didn't go numb, but was filled with warmth at his deep, heartfelt voice. Last time when she was here, she had no clue her life would take such an unexpected, yet beautiful turn... and the person who had made his way to her heart, crashing all her walls, would be a part of her world.

"Agar jaane ko kahoge toh bhi nahi jaungi, tumhe aur apne ghar ko chod ke." She surprised him with the determination in her voice.

"Filhaal toh chalne ko kahunga... hamare ghar." Standing up, he held out a hand.

Laughing at his habit of dramatising everything, she placed her hand in his and got up.

As they reached the parking, she wasn't even a least bit surprised when he pulled her between two parked cars. This was exactly the place where they had shared their first real hug.

Standing close to him, she looked up at his smiling face, "I could hear your heartbeat that day."

"Usmein apna naam nahi suna?" He dipped his head to the side.

"I was too lost." She confessed without hesitation.

His arms wrapped around her instantly, his eyes shining with pride, "And I was on top of the world. Kabse wait kar raha tha uss moment ka. Woh hamara pehla real hug tha."

"It was unimaginable." She breathed in, enveloped in the memories. The same musky scent surrounded her today, but she had become so accustomed to it now.

"Agar Preeti nahi aati toh main tumhe uss din apne dil ka haal batane wala tha. Mujhse aur intezar nahi ho raha tha." He remembered clearly how he had almost blurted out.

She wasn't sure what she would have said, or how she would have reacted at that time... but she would not have said a definite yes.

Stepping a little away as she heard a car revving up nearby, she looked at him, "Sameer, main jaanti hun tumne ek lamba intezar kiya hai, lekin jo hua shayad ussi tarah hona chahiye tha. Mera yahan aana, phir Rohan ka Mumbai chale jaana, jiski wajah se main tumhare saath kaam karne lagi, Bhalla aunty ka tumhe mera husband samajhna, Preeti ki humein kareeb laane ki koshishen, aur phir woh karwachouth ka din, hamari shaadi... yeh sab kismat hai. Hamari destiny ek doosre se juddi hui thi isliye hum aaj saath hain. Chahe waqt laga, lekin ab yeh kabhi na tootne wala rishta ban gaya hai."

Holding her hand, he walked to the car. Once they were on the road, he continued, "Tumne sabka naam liya lekin uska nahi liya jisne hamari... at least meri... sabse zyada help ki."

"Kisne?" She turned to him, amazed that there was someone else too.

Sameer grinned, "Ayush ne." Seeing her shocked expression, he laughed, "Naina, main Ayush ko jitna thanks kahun kam hai. Jab main tumhare aage theek se bol bhi nahi paata tha, usne mujhe 'Naina ke sir' naam de diya. Baad mein ussi ne ek baar 'Naina ke Sameer' kaha tha. Aisa lagta tha jaise uska mere dil ki baaton se direct link hai. Apni birthday party mein usne humein same cake ka piece khilaya, uski wajah se tum mujh pe giri thi jab tumhare baal ulajh gaye the mere button mein, usne hi apne ghar rukne ke liye kaha jab bimar tha, reason koi bhi ho par uske kehne pe tum baar baar mere paas aa hi jaati thi. Ayush mere liye anmol hai."

"Lekin usse ab tak nahi pata hamari shaadi ke baare mein." Naina pursed her lips. She wanted to tell him, but she didn't know how to bring it up.

Sameer took a deep breath, "You know what, Ayush ne mujhse kaha hai ki main tumse shaadi kar lun."

It was a surprise for her. Ayush had said something similar to her, though not so openly but he had asked Sameer clearly to marry her was unexpected from a child of his age. But then, Ayush had always been much ahead of his age.

"Toh?" Her sudden question made him give her a quick glance.

"Toh?" He furrowed his brows, unable to understand.

"Toh shaadi karenge mujhse, Mr Maheshwari?" She asked with a sly smile.

"I'm so sorry, ma'm, lekin meri shaadi pehle hi ho chuki hai, aur meri wife badi possesive type hai. Usse agar pata chala toh aapki class le legi." He sighed, a sad expression on his face.

Naina carried the game ahead, "Agar woh possessive type na hoti toh? Kar lete mujhse shaadi?"

He looked at her, letting his appreciative gaze move over her form, then gave a lopsided smile, "Issi waqt. In fact, kar hi lete hain. Itni hot ladki ko kaise mana kar sakta hun. Wife ko main sambhal lunga. Buddhu si hai, usse pata nahi chalega."

"Haww. Tumne mujhe buddhu kaha?" Her eyes turned as big as saucers.

"Hot bhi kaha. Uspe react nahi kiya tumne. Means you accept you are hot." He winked, catching her at her own game.

Colour crept up on her face instantly. Hiding a blushing smile, she turned her face to look outside, crossing her arms, "Buddhu tum ho. Kuch bhi kehte ho."

It was almost midnight when they reached home. Sameer opened the door with his set of keys. Naina went to Ayush's room to check on him. When she came back, their room was vacant, so was the washroom. Taking her night suit from the cupboard, she went in to change. Sameer was still not in the room when she came out. She wondered where he could have gone at this hour. Then her eyes fell on the open door that led to terrace. Grabbing the jacket that he had worn during the day, she rushed out. But he was already wearing one. Standing with his arms crossed, he was staring at the moon. Naina walked upto the parapet, and stood beside him, the jacket on her arm.

"Chaand se baatein karna toh meri aadat hai." She said, looking up at the half moon.

"Pata hai." He did not move his gaze, "bohot baar dekha hai tumhe."

She shook her head, "Bohot nahi, shayad do teen baar... jab tum Ayush ke bimar hone pe aaye the, aur ek baar yahan."

His voice was hesitant when his eyes came down to her, "Naina, aisi bohot si raatein thi jab main car mein tumhare ghar ke neeche wait karta tha... tumhari ek jhalak dekhne ke liye, jab tum chaand se baatein karne aao."

Her head jerked to give him a shocked look.

He swallowed, "I know... aisa karna theek nahi tha... I'm sorry. Lekin tumhe dekhe bina so nahi paata tha, jab office mein tumse baat karne ka chance nahi mila ho."

The shock gave way to a complacent smile, "Kabse majnu banke meri galiyon ke chakkar laga rahe the, Mr Maheshwari?"

The cheeky grin was back, "Jabse tumhara address pata chala."

"Pakde jaate toh?" She quirked up a brow.

"Yehi toh chahta tha main... ki tum pakad lo mujhe... itna kas ke ki phir kabhi na chodo." He looped an arm around her shoulder, winking.

"Aur agar Bhalla aunty pakad leti?" She challenged.

He wasn't the one to lose, "Toh aur pehle se tumhara husband ban jaata. Ek husband toh chahiye tha na tumhe."

She punched his stomach lightly, "Zaruri nahi hai. Pitai bhi ho sakti thi."

His expression turned somber all of a sudden. Lowering his eyes, he gulped, "Ek kaam kiya hai maine aisa... jiske liye pitai honi chahiye thi. I... I didn't realise main galat kar raha hun... jab tak tumne ahsaas nahi dilaya. Please Naina, gussa mat hona."

There was no way she could believe that he did something that was morally wrong, "Sameer, tumhara dil itna sachha aur masoom hai ki agar tumne aisa kuch kiya bhi hoga toh mujhe yakeen hai kisi bure iraade se nahi. Shayad anjaane mein. Aur uss baat ka guilt tumhari aankhon mein hai iska matlab tum galat nahi ho."

He was astounded at her trust in him. But he had to tell her the blunder he had committed, though he was now sure she wouldn't see him differently, "Naina maine maine tumse bina puche tumhari pictures click ki thi."

Her eyes rounded. Stepping in front of her, he quickly held up his hands, "Lekin maine Jaipur mein delete kar di. Uske baad kabhi nahi ki, I swear." He pinched his neck.

She stared at him for a few seconds without any expression, then asked, "Aur aisa kyon kiya?"

He scratched the back of his head, wrinkling his nose, "Maine... realise nahi kiya ki I'm invading your privacy. Jab Jaipur mein..." He paused. He didn't want to bring up the miserable memories of whatever happened in Jaipur with those boys. Licking his lips, he continued, "Jaipur mein pehle din hi mujhe samajh aa gaya ki mujhe aisa nahi karna chahiye tha. Ussi waqt maine poora folder delete kar diya."

Another few seconds passed in silence, making him shuffle on his feet. He wasn't sure anymore how Naina would perceive this mistake of his.

Only when her eyes softened, did he let out the breath he was holding, "Tum... tum gussa nahi ho na?"

She lifted his hand, holding it within both her palms, "Sameer, tum khud ko unn ladkon se compare mat karo. Unke jaise tum kabhi ho hi nahi sakte. Mujhe sunke thoda shock zarur laga... phir samajh aaya tumne aisa kyon kiya. Tumhare dil mein sirf pyar tha mere liye. Aur jisse hum pyar karte hain usse apne paas rakhna chahte hain. Uss waqt tum mujhe nahi rakh sakte the apne paas isliye meri pics le li. I know yeh galat hai, bina puche kisi ko click nahi karna chahiye, par main tumse gussa nahi hun. Because I know you now. And I have always trusted you."

Finally, having rid himself of this little guilt that was gnawing at the back of his head for a long time, he took her in a relieved embrace. Only then he realised she wasn't wearing any warm clothes.

"Naina, tumhe bhi meri tarah bimar hona hai kya? Aise kyon aa gayi bahar?" He parted immediately, concerned about her state.

She smiled, "Kuch nahi hoga. Mujhe itni jaldi thand nahi lagti."

"Aise kaise nahi lagti?" He frowned.

"Because I'm hot." She flicked her brows, repeating his words.

He was taken by surprise at her directness for a moment, grabbing her waist the next, "Oh really! Let me check."

She twisted, jumping out of his hold when his cold fingers touched her skin on the waist, edging up the hem of her tshirt.

"I guess jacket pehen leti hun." She unfolded the jacket in hand and slipped into it. Sameer was amused to see her small frame lost in his jacket, but she still looked adorable.

"Dekhna, kahin tumhari hotness se meri jacket na jal jaye." He teased, roving his eyes on her from head to toe and back.

She came to him in a flash, wrapping her arms around him tightly, "Thank you, Sameer."

He placed a kiss on top of her head, holding her gently, "Kis baat ke liye?"

"Har baat ke liye. Lekin abhi, aaj ki date ke liye. Aaj aisa laga maine pichle dus mahine phir se jee liye. Tumhare saath jo pal bitaye the, aaj unhe yaad karke ab woh sirf meri ya sirf tumhari yaadon ka hissa nahi rahe, balki hum dono ke liye ek khoobsurat yaad ban gaye hain. Hum aage bhi dates pe jayenge, lekin aaj ki date main kabhi nahi bhulungi. Ek shaam mein maine ek safar tay kiya hai... tumhe ek ajanabi se apna sab kuch banane ka." She said with a satisfied smile on her face.

She had made a heartfelt confession earlier too, when they were in Bhalla aunty's house. He was too overwhelmed to react at that time.

Now, after she poured out her heart again, he cupped her face with one hand, "Naina, yeh shaam mere liye bhi bohot special thi. Aaj mujhe pata chala tumhara dil bhi bohot pehle se mere liye dhadakta tha. Mujhe tumhare pyar pe yakeen tha, phir bhi kabhi kabhi lagta tha kahin maine tumhe emotionally manipulate toh nahi kiya. Lekin aaj tumne jo kaha... ki tum khul ke saans lene lagi, hansne lagi, phir se jeene lagi... mujhe bohot achha laga. Main tumhe hamesha se khush dekhna chahta tha, muskurate hue dekhna chahta tha... aur aaj yeh sab bata ke tumne meri woh wish poori kar di. Mere pyar ne agar tumhe yeh sab diya hai toh main khud ko duniya ka sabse lucky insaan samajhta hun. Thank you, Naina, mujhe apni zindagi mein shaamil karne ke liye."

She hugged him again, resting her head on his chest. His arms were the haven she could never get tired of. His warmth was the basic necessity she could not live without. His musky scent was needed to breathe. His heartbeat was to be felt for her heart to function. She was a part of him... she needed him to survive, to live.

When they drifted off to sleep few minutes later, they both had a smile on their faces, happy with the memories of their first date.

Next update on Friday... hopefully.
My laptop has given up today. I'll try to get it repaired tomorrow but if some major issue is there, I'll inform.
