Humpe yeh kisne hara rang daala
Title is the very famous song of movie 'Devdas'
Sameer was pacing the room, infuriated. Since morning, he had been desperate to spend some time with Naina but this visit of some old relatives had kept her away from him whole day. All his messages had shown his desperation but Naina did not come to the room. They could neither go out for lunch as planned nor could she be with him after the tiresome cooking got over... because his mom wanted to see her in the new saree.
"What?" He stopped abruptly, "Saree? Maine toh ab tak nahi dekhi. This is not fair. Main abhi jaake..." Grumbling, he darted towards the door... and collided with Naina who had just taken a step inside the room.
His arms instinctively went around her. She clutched the jewellery boxes to her chest but saree bag slipped out of her hand and fell.
Sameer gaped at her, open mouthed.
"Itni jaldi mein kahan jaa rahe hain aap?" She inquired, trying to straighten up.
When the boxes poked at his chest, Sameer realised the distance they created. He snatched them from her and threw on the bed, oblivious to the fact that one box opened, and a necklace fell out.
"Jaldi? Tumhe abhi bhi lag raha hai jaldi hai? Naina, main subah se tumhari wait kar kar ke pagal ho gaya hun." He pulled her in his arms, crushing her to his chest.
She wrapped her arms around him, "Sorry Sameer, main lunch ke liye nahi chal paayi. Bohot koshish ki lekin kal pakka chalenge."
He inhaled deeply, "Lunch bhi miss ho gaya aur uske baad ka meetha bhi."
Her lips curled into a smile against him, he could feel. Lifting his head to see her face, he winked, "Waise abhi bhi meetha mil jaaye toh... I don't mind."
"Mummy ne kaha hai main jaldi se ready ho jaun. Woh log aane wale hain." She mumbled, keeping a straight face.
"Main bhi keh raha hun... jaldi se ready ho jao... meri baat kab manogi?" His voice turned to a hoarse whisper as he hooked a finger under her chin to make her look up.
"Aapko... aapko nanu... ne bulaya hai. Kuch... dena chahte hain aapko." She recalled nanu calling out to her from outside his room when she was coming, and asking her to send Sameer down.
Sameer sighed, "Mujhe pata hai aaj ka din tumne gharwalon ke naam kiya hai. Lekin main interest ke saath sab wasool karunga, yaad rakhna."
After he left, she picked up the saree from the floor and arranged the jewellery properly in the box. In her heart, she was feeling bad for not being able to reciprocate the love that Sameer always showered on her. He never failed to make her feel special. In fact, for the first time in her life, she was feeling a lightness in her heart, of living for herself. He had brought that change in her in just a few days. She loved him with every pore of her being, but was not able to show it the way he did. Looking at the saree and jewellery, she narrowed her eyes. Maybe this was a sign... a sign of destiny to show her that she was seen as his wife by everyone, and it was time she also see herself as the same.
With a determined exhale, she gathered the clothes and went to the washroom. Sameer hadn't yet come back from nanu's room when she came out, wearing the saree. Tying her hair in a knot on top of her head, she decided to first put some makeup, wear the jewellery and then do her hair in the end, which she wanted to leave open, given the low cut of the blouse at the back. The design was decided by the designer, saying that this is what matched the classy saree that she had chosen. Naina had never worn such a blouse, but she wasn't uncomfortable, as she was used to wearing all sorts of outfits.
She had barely pinned her pallu to the shoulder when she heard the door open with a thud.
"Nainaaaa, jaldi aao mere room mein." Ayush hollered as he came charging in the room.
"Kya hua baby? Tu theek hai na." Naina immediately crouched on the floor, checking his arms, legs, face.
"Offo, mere room mein kuch dikhana hai. Chalo na... jaldi se." Ayush brushed off her hand, held her wrist and attempted to drag her.
"Achha achha chal rahi hun. Tune kuch toda toh nahi na?" Naina got up and followed him, hoping that there was no mishap just when the much awaited guests were about to reach.
"Woh dekho." In his room, Ayush pointed a finger upwards, to the edge of the wall near the ceiling.
"Kya dekhun?" She scanned the entire wall. Nothing seemed amiss.
Ayush pulled her closer to the wall, "Upar dekho na... wahan spider hai."
There was a spider in the corner, stuck to the wall.
Naina breathed in relief, "Ek spider ke liye itna shor machaya, Ayush? Mujhe laga pata nahi kya ho gaya. Spider kuch nahi kehti."
"Naiii. Isse maaro. Mujhe... mujhe achhi nahi lagti." He shuddered.
"Spider se thodi darte hain. Woh toh wall pe hai." Naina calmed him.
"Main darta nahi hun." Ayush joined his brows, trying to sound brave, "main toh spider ke liye keh raha hun. Raat ko jab mere stars aayenge wall pe toh yeh darr jayegi na... isliye hata do."
Naina ruffled his hair, chuckling, "Haan bilkul, tujhe thodi darr lagta hai. Tu toh strong hai."
He frowned, running his hands through his hair to set them while Naina dragged a chair to the wall. She brought a broomstick from the balcony. Only when she was about to climb the chair did she remember her attire.
"Yeh saree bhi na." Muttering, she gathered the pallu over her shoulder, brought it around her waist and tucked it at the side, to keep it out of the way. With the broom in hand, she climbed the chair, raised herself on toes and swatted at the spider.
Sameer sprinted up the stairs, holding the kurta pyjama nanu had given him. he was eager to see Naina in the saree but room was vacant. He turned to go to his mom's room, thinking it to be the next probable place to find her. But Ayush's voice made him stop.
"Side mein Naina... nai nai doosre side mein."
Sameer quickly reached the source of sound.
His jaw dropped at the scene that met his eyes.
Standing on a chair, Naina had both her arms in air, one holding the broom, other palm resting on the wall for support. What made his breath lose its track completely was the sharp contrast of dark green saree with her gleaming skin.
The way she was stretching herself, with her hair piled on top of her head, she presented a picture that fuelled his desires with a new ferocity. The deep cut of her blouse brought a layer of sweat to his forehead. He had never seen Naina wear a deep neck, forget about this deep. The blouse was just a narrow strip in the center of her back, leaving a lot of skin bare. His eyes moved unabashed to the gap between her blouse and saree, showing off her waist. The air in the room seemed too less to provide him enough oxygen. She had worn a saree twice before, but nothing had prepared him for the perfection that was in front of his eyes now. The fabric wasn't too sheer, but the way it hugged her made him grab the door for support, lest his legs gave up.
Naina looked every inch a temptress perched on a chair in that green saree. And he was on the verge of losing his sanity.
A sound of sharp blow on the wall made him come to his senses a bit. Gulping, he stepped inside the room.
"Ho gaya. Ab nahi dikhegi tujhe spider. Khush?" Throwing the broom to the floor, Naina had half turned when she noticed Sameer.
There was a sharp intake of breath, before she lost her balance... and landed straight in his arms. Sameer stared at her... with a corner of lip pressed under her teeth, eyes squeezed shut, a mixed expression of fright and shyness on her face, hands digging into his shoulders... she took his breath away.
When there was no movement from his side, she slowly opened her eyes... and they forgot about the world around them... till Ayush screamed.
"Yayyy, Naina ne spider ko maar diya."
She squirmed, pushing at Sameer's chest to let her down, but he was too lost to react.
She whispered, "Neeche utariye mujhe. Ayush hai yahan pe."
Still dazed, he gently put her down. His heart, which was already racing like mad went completely in a tizzy when his eyes scanned over her. Blushing profusely, Naina quickly freed the pallu from her waist and let it fall over her shoulder, covering herself.
"Main... main jaake ready hoti hun." She murmured, unable to look at him. She prodded Ayush, "Tu bhi change kar le. Aaj guest ayenge na."
And before the boys could say anything, she dashed out.
"Main bhi... ready ho jaata hun." Sameer managed to utter, running after her.
Naina had just entered the room when he grabbed her arm with one hand and shut the door with another. Making her turn towards him with one swift jerk, he held her upper arms, intently looking into her eyes, "Jaan logi kya meri?"
"Aur aap meri... aise mat dekho na." Her answer shocked him even more.
"Nainaaa." He groaned, his hands slowly moving down her arms till his fingers linked with hers.
"Mujhe... taiyar... hona hai." She was melting under his heated gaze, but couldn't look away.
His hands moved up a little. With a gasp, her eyes went wide as his large palms gently came over her waist. They both could feel the slight shiver of each other... Sameer, holding on to his tremulous control, and Naina, trembling at the awakening of a need to feel more of his touch. They were not sure if their hearts were beating, or not... if their breath was finding a way, or not... if they had to do anything else, or not...
But they did.
"Sam... Sameer, humein der ho rahi hai." She whispered, a hint of remorse in her voice.
All she wanted was... to lose herself in his eyes, to listen to his heartbeat in the cocoon of his arms, to drown in the warmth of his closeness. Sameer swallowed. Nanu had asked him to wear the kurta pyjama he had given and come down soon. However much they wished, they could not be with each other at the moment.
With a sigh, he rested his forehead on her shoulder, "Uff Naina, have you seen yourself in the mirror? Tum itni se... sundar lag rahi ho ki main... main kaise poori sham tumse door reh paunga."
She bit her lip, too conscious of the word he held back.
Sameer lifted his face, looking at her with mesmerised eyes, "Aaj se green mera favourite colour hai."
Tearing himself away from her was a herculean task. He had purposely not taken her in his arms. Had he done so, his hands would have strayed, and shattered his control completely. He hoped he was able to last the evening, without letting others know how badly he wanted to be with his wife.
After a shower and changing into the off white kurta pyjama, when he came out, Naina had already gone down. Putting away the towel, when he picked up the hair brush, there was a piece of folded paper under it. Sameer grabbed it impatiently
Tumhari mohabbat mili
humko jeene ka bahana mil gaya
Inn baahon mein jo ghar mila
iss dil ko thikana mil gaya
I ❤ you Sameer
His face broke into a wide grin. Clutching the paper, he kissed it hard, and jumped in air.
The smile was still on his face when he sprinted down the stairs. Before he could reach Naina, his dad sauntered in, along with mamaji and mamiji.
Naina saw the guests from the kitchen. Mamaji was a tall, thin man, with a heavy moustache which was mostly white. He appeared to be an austere person, going by his stern looks and stiff posture. Mamiji, on the contrary, had a loving smile on her wrinkled face. She was dressed in a silk saree, with gold border, lots of gold jewellery and had a large bindi adorning her forehead. Red line of vermillion in her white hair was partially visible as she had covered her head with pallu.
Vishakha patted her back, gesturing to come along as she went out. Neither she covered her head, nor asked Naina to do so. When she bent down to touch the feet of elders, Naina followed suit.
Mamaji blessed both while mamiji hugged Vishakha, keeping her in a tight embrace for quite a few minutes. Then she looked at Naina, roaming her eyes from head to toe, and remarked, "Bahu toh badi sundar laayi hai, Vishakha."
Sameer beamed with pride. He hadn't yet seen her, catching just a glimpse from back. Yet, he knew she would be looking stunning. And she was, he discovered as she turned. On the day of karwachauth, if her red saree had enchanted him, today he was hypnotised by her sublime beauty in green. Besides the mangalsutra, she was wearing two necklaces, and long earrings, which dangled with her every move. Thick golden bracelets adorned both her wrists, but he missed the glass bangles, making up his mind to get her some in green colour to wear when she wore this saree next time. A small bindi, and a hint of red in her hair made his chest swell. His wife... his Maina.
"Aaja beta, mere paas baith. Apni nayi bahu se thodi baatein karni hain." Mamiji made Naina sit next to her.
Mamaji looked at nanu and asked in a concerned voice, "Ab kaise ho, bhai sahab? Humein toh pata hi nahi laga aapki tabiyat itni kharab hui, warna zarur milne aate. Lekin ab aapko pehle ki tarah dekh ke bada chain mila dil ko."
Nanu smiled, "Iss umar mein thoda bohot upar neeche toh chalta hi rehta hai. Jitni zindagi zaruri thi, woh jee chuke hain, ab toh bas bachhon ka pyar hai jo gaadi ko dhakka lagata rehta hai."
Sameer frowned, "Nanu, aap phir aisi baatein karne lage."
Mamaji laughed, "Arre bhai baatein karne se kya hota hai. Chinta mat kar tu, hum logon ne shuddh khana khaya hua hai, hum itni jaldi kahin nahi jaane wale."
The old couple didn't look as intimidating as Naina had presumed.
"Beta, kahan ki rehne wali ho?" Mamiji asked her in a loving voice.
First question itself stumped Naina. She didn't know whether to tell the truth or...
Vishakha relieved her of the dilemma, "Mamiji Naina ka ghar Dilli mein hi hai."
"Achha hi hai." Mamiji nodded, smiling, "Sab jaanti hai sheher ke baare mein toh akeli aa jaa sakti hai. Humein toh ab tak apne pati ko kehna padta hai kahin bahar jaana ho toh."
Naina gave a small smile.
Since Vivek had already mentioned to them that Naina lost her parents in an accident, they did not ask about it, but mamaji showed his annoyance when he addressed Vishakha, "Maana Jai Prakash ji ki tabiyat ki wajah se tum logon ne jaldi mein shaadi kar di lekin humein toh bulana tha na. Aakhir Vivek ke khaandaan se koi toh hona chahiye tha. Hamara ashirwaad lena zaruri nahi samjha tumne?"
His wife placed a hand on his arm, "Yeh kaisi baat kar rahe ho ji... Vivek aur Vishakha hamesha kitna sammaan dete hain. Ab bhai sahab ki achanak tabiyat kharab ho gayi toh bachhe unko haspataal le jaate ya ghar pe bheed ikatthi karte? Jo hua achha hua. Aur jodiyan toh upar se banke aati hain. Jab sanjog hota hai tabhi bandhan judd jaata hai." She turned to Vivek and Vishakha, "Tum inki baat ka bura mat manao. Inhe ladoo nahi mile isliye thode kadwe ho gaye hain."
Her laugh made her husband also let out a smile. Vishakha folded her hands, "Mamaji, aapka aur mamiji ka ashirwad toh sabse zaruri hai. Vi... Inke rishtedaaron mein aap sabse bade hain. Hum agle mahine phir se bachhon ki shaadi karne wale hain, poore riti riwaaz ke saath. Socha tha usme sabko bulayenge. Lekin ab aap log Ketan bhaisahab ke paas Australia jaa rahe hain."
Mamiji stroked Naina's head, looking at Vishakha, "Arre bahu, tu pareshan mat ho. Jiji ke jaane ke baad humne Vivek ko apna hi beta maana hai. Uske bachhon ke liye hamara ashirwad hamesha rahegai. Achha ab gile shikwe band aur meri nayi bahu se baat karne do mujhe."
While Vishakha got busy serving the snacks and tea, mamiji kept holding Naina's hand and talking to her in low voice. Sameer could see her nodding repeatedly, or answering in murmurs but couldn't hear what was being discussed. He wished they were louder so he could know if something was making Naina uncomfortable.
When he couldn't take it, he got up and went where both were sitting. Settling on the arm of the sofa, next to Naina, he leaned, "Dadiji, saari baatein bahu se karogi ya pote ka bhi number ayega?"
Naina had felt him before he spoke, even though her back was to him. When he leaned, he lightly pressed against her, making her break into goosebumps at the proximity in front of entire family.
Mamiji swatted his arm, "Waise toh kabhi dadi ki yaad aati nahi hai, aaj apni biwi se baat karte hue dekh ke tujhe jalan ho rahi hai kya?" She then looked at Naina, "Bahu, yeh ladka na bachpan se bada jalokda hai. Iski cheezon ko koi haath bhi laga de toh ladne pe aa jaata hai."
Naina had seen his possessiveness, and it made her smile.
Sameer pouted, "Kya dadiji, aap meri biwi ko meri achhi baatein batane ki jagah buraai kar rahi hain isne sach maan liya aur mujhse jhagda kiya toh?"
Mamiji fondly touched Naina's face, "Bahu ki aankhen dekh ke hi pata chalta hai kitna pyar karti hai tujhse. Aur tu bhaag yahan se, mujhe haq hai apni bahu se baat karne ka."
Reluctantly, Sameer went back to where he was sitting, but the deep blush that spread on Naina's face didn't go unnoticed from him. The note she had left for him filled him with glee.
The talks continued comfortably till Ayush came running to the room. He halted suddenly, looking at the new faces, then glanced at Naina. She nodded once. Ayush folded his hands and greeted the old couple with respect.
Mamiji gestured at him to come to her, "Itna pyara bachha kaun hai? Humne toh isse pehle kabhi dekha hi nahi."
"Main Ayush hun. Maine bhi aapko nahi dekha kabhi. Aap kaun ho?" He asked innocently, going near mamiji.
Naina tugged at his arm, "Aise nahi kehte. Yeh dadiji hain, aur woh dadaji."
Vishakha immediately chipped in, "Ayush Naina ka bhai hai. Behen ki yaad aa rahi thi toh milne aaya hai."
Sameer narrowed his eyes at his mom, then his gaze darted to Naina, wondering how she would feel about this lie. But she just blinked, assuring him that it was okay.
Mamiji gave a shocked look, "Bhai? Yeh toh..." Her face relaxed back in a smile, "Oh, chacha bua ka beta hoga."
Thankfully Ayush didn't reply to that, since he had never addressed anyone as chacha or bua. Mamiji made him sit with her and asked a few questions about his age and school, to which he replied chirpily. Naina, however, was on the edge, worried about what Ayush might blurt out. She looked at Vishakha, who could see the apprehension in her eyes.
She called out to Deepika, "Tere aur Ayush ke liye Ramdhari ne milkshake banaya hai, jaake le lo dono. Aur saath mein khane ko bhi le lena. Dhyan rakhna Ayush ka."
Having understood the meaning, Deepika ushered Ayush inside.
After tea, mamiji's attention came to Naina's jewellery. She touched the necklace, "Purane waqt ka design hai. Aajkal ke modern design aise nahi hote. Bhaari bhi hai. Saas ne diya?"
Naina took a while before camouflaging the lie Vishakha had asked her to say, "Yeh... yeh sab... meri mummy ne diya hai."
Mamiji gave a satisfactory smile to Vishakha, "Tere samdhi achhe paarkhi log lagte hain. Pehchaan hai badhiya gehno ki."
She then brought out a large box from her bag, and opened it to reveal a pair of heavy silver anklets, along with a set of elaborate gold and diamond earrings and a long chain.
"Sameer, idhar aa." She waved at him, picking up the chain, "Yeh tere liye, itni pyari bahu laane ka inaam. Aur Naina, yeh sab tere liye. Saas ki saas ka tohfa hai, sambhal ke rakhna."
Sameer took the chain from her and handed to Naina, "Isse bhi baaki sab ke saath rakh do."
Mamaji laughed at his gesture, "Yeh lo, hamara beta toh abhi se joru ka ghulam ho gaya. Apna saamaan bhi usko saunp diya."
Nanu joined him, "Apne baap pe gaya hai. Ab Vivek ne kahan se seekha yeh toh aap hi bata sakte hain."
Loud laughter rang in the room.
The evening went by without any trouble. Naina felt the hardwork of whole day was worth it when both mamaji and mamiji praised the food exceptionally. When it was time to go, they blessed Sameer and Naina again, saying that they were very happy to see their grandson settled in life. The love of relatives was something Naina hadn't experienced ever, and it filled her heart with warmth that Sameer had made her life complete in more ways than one.
"Naina, tum toh aaj bohot thak gayi hogi na. Jao ab aaram karo. Achha hai kal Sunday hai. Kal ka poora din rest ka rakhenge, aaj hum dono ne bohot kaam kar liya." Vishakha stated in a weary voice, glad that mamaji hadn't shown his rigid and disapproving side today, nor mamiji had probed too deep into Naina's family and marriage details. Only later, she came to know from her husband that they had mellowed down considerably after their grandson had eloped from the house when he was stopped from marrying a girl of his choice from a different religion.
Naina hesitated before entering her room. She had written her feelings for him, now she didn't know whether he had seen or missed her note. He did not give any indication throughout the evening. She stealthily opened the door and stepped in. Surprisingly, Sameer wasn't in the room. She looked around. But he was nowhere. She checked the washroom. That was vacant too.
"Subah se toh aise kar rahe the jaise do second bhi nahi raha jaa raha. Ab jab time mila hai toh khud gayab hain. Wow Mr Maheshwari. Aap bhi kamaal hain." She twisted her mouth, mumbling to herself as she went to the dresser to take off her jewellery.
That is when she noticed the note, with a rose on it. Looking around once again, she picked up the rose with a smile, then opened the paper
Tumhe dekha hai jabse
bas dekhte rehna chahta hun
Kitni bekarari hai dil mein
yeh aaj tumse kehna chahta hun
Rok na dena mujhe
behek jayein jo armaan
Tujhe leke apni baahon mein
ishq mein behna chahta hun
The lines sent a shiver down her spine. Pursing her lips, she closed her eyes. A faint sound made her open them instantly. Sliding door to terrace was open, and Sameer stood leaning against the frame, his arms crossed over his chest. She had seen him in kurta earlier, but what he wore today made him look incredibly handsome. Since the weather wasn't much cold, he wasn't wearing any jacket. The silk kurta stretched over his chest and arms. She could almost feel his hard muscles rippling under her fingers, from the night she had slept on his bare chest.
"Tum likh ke batati ho, par keh nahi sakti... mehsoos karti ho, par jataa nahi sakti... aankhon mein jhalakti hai, par hothon pe chahat laa nahi sakti... dil mein aag hai, par jalne dena nahi chahti." He started to take slow steps towards her.
Naina stood rooted at her place. When he reached her, he took the flower from her hand. Her shoulder hitched up when he traced her face with rose, starting from her forehead, coming down her nose to her lips... and stopped.
"Maina, you look so beautiful that I've lost my mind." He uttered in a raspy voice.
He stepped closer, putting away the flower, "Aaj jo sataya hai, uski punishment ki pehli instalment ka time aa gaya hai."
His hands wrapped around her waist. Naina sucked in a soundless breath as his one palm came in direct contact with her skin. Thin layer of saree on the other side didn't make the feeling any lesser. His thumbs rubbed her belly lightly. She was sure he could feel the bumps on her skin.
"Say you love me." He demanded, in a hoarse whisper.
She tried to speak, but the words seemed to be lost.
"Maine kaha tha tumhe kisi baat ke liye force nahi karunga. Lekin aaj mera dil kaabu mein nahi hai. Agar tumhe galat lage toh mujhe rok dena. Tum jab kahogi main peeche hat jaunga." Sameer leaned closer to her.
Her breath got stuck as his lips neared her. He leaned some more... but instead of claiming her mouth, he tilted his head and pressed his lips on her cheek, then skimmed over her jawline before he hissed against the soft skin behind her ear, "Ab jaun?"
She fisted the sides of her saree, turning into a puddle at his pleasurable torture.
He peppered feather light kisses on her neck, till he reached her collar bone, when he breathed against the hollow of her neck, "Ab jaun?"
She wasn't in a position to answer.
Next moment, his lips touched the throbbing vein at the base of her neck. With a sharp hiss, she took in a gulp of air.
"Ab jaun?"
She could feel the movement of his lips as he uttered against her skin.
As if in a slow motion, he turned her around, making her face the mirror. She could see him behind her. With one hand, he gathered her hair and pushed them over one shoulder, to fall in front, leaving her back open to him. His eyes remained locked with her in the mirror, while his fingers started to draw patterns on her exposed skin. Her shoulders hitched backward.
"Ab jaun?" He asked again.
She turned with a lightening speed and hid herself in his chest, clutching his kurta. Sameer gasped as he looked at their reflection in the mirror. The silky back that he was feeling with his fingers now was in full view. Slowly, he raised his hands and engulfed her in his arms, letting his palms rest on her bare skin.
"I love you, Sameer."
He froze.
Her voice was low, but clear. Still, he wasn't sure he had imagined, or she had actually said it.
He waited... to hear it again.
After a few seconds, she raised her head slowly, to find him staring at her with blank expression.
"Tumne kuch kaha?" A doubt cropped up in his mind.
"I love you!" She said it again, crisp and clear.
Every doubt vanished from his mind, and he dipped his head. Giggling, she pushed him and ran towards the terrace.
"Naina." He grunted, and darted after her, catching her near the door.
"Ab kahan jaogi? Ek baar phir se kaho." He locked her in his arms, flashing a winning smile.
"Do baar toh kaha." She pouted.
"Do hazaar baar bhi kahogi toh kam lagega. I want to hear it again and again and again. Roz, subah sham, har ghanta, har pal... maine kitna intezar kiya hai yeh sunne ke liye." He contentedly gazed at her glowing face.
"Roz kahungi. Aapse seekh rahi hun, pyar jataana." She accepted without hesitation.
"Oh!" He raised one brow, "Pehle lesson mein top kiya tumne, ab doosre lesson ki baari."
She knew what he meant when his gaze fell to her lips. Holding the flimsy curtain, she dragged it between their faces. Sameer narrowed his eyes. The curtain did not hide anything, neither her quivering lips, nor her uncertain eyes. He did not move the curtain when his face came down.
Naina closed her eyes as his lips brushed hers, through the delicate fabric of curtain. A knot formed in her stomach, turning her legs into jelly. Her heart burst into an explosion at the amazing feeling, her breathing became quick and shallow, matching rhythm with her drumming heartbeat.
Sameer felt like he experienced first rain in an endless stretch of desert. He pressed his lips more, holding her head in place.
"Ab toh yeh parda hata do jaan." He whispered, not leaving the feeling of elixir that he had tasted after such a long wait.
"Nainaa, please door kholo." Ayush's voice from outside made them jump apart.
Sameer ran to the door, while Naina held onto the curtain, trying to get the semblance back.
"Kya hua Ayush?" Sameer let him in, worried at his fearful expression.
"Mere room mein phir se spider aayi toh? Mujhe Naina ke paas sona hai."
