Ho gayi jan e jahan... teri aadat si mujhe

Title is the song "Deewana kar raha hai tera roop sunehra' from movie 'Raaz 3'

"Naina, maine Raju ko kal hi bol diya tha. Tumhari car ready kar di hai usne. Waise tum chaho toh thoda late aa jaana." Sameer looked at his wife through the mirror as she placed all required things in her bag while he knotted his tie.

Zipping up her bag, Naina put it aside and walked to him. Sameer turned to face her when she tugged at his shoulder. He hands went up to adjust the knot, and smoothen his shirt before she looked in his eyes.

"Abse main apne husband ke saath jaana prefer karungi... agar mujhe apni car mein leke chaloge toh." Her brows went up in question.

Sameer grinned, wrapping his arms around her, "Tumhe toh main utha ke le jaa sakta hun."

She pushed at his arms, smiling back, "Honeymoon khatam ho gaya hai Mr Husband. Hum office jaa rahe hain."

Without leaving her, he leaned and pecked her cheek, "Honeymoon toh lifelong hai sweetheart. Ghar, office ya hum kahin bhi jaayein, tum mujhe rok nahi paogi."

"Zyada romantic banne ki koshish mat karo. Aaj se kaam pe focus karna hai. Bohot chutti ho gayi." She tilted her head back when he eyed her lips next.

"Madam, mujhe koshish karne ki zarurat nahi hai. Tumhara husband duniya ka sabse romantic insaan hai." He winked, before dipping his head.

But his effort was futile as she placed her fingers over her lips, and shook her head, "Jaane ka time ho gaya hai. Lipstick laga ke jaana hai kya tumhe?"

Sighing, he moved back, and picked his blazer, "Yeh lipstick ban ho jaani chahiye. Sabse badi pyar ki dushman hai."

"Kuch bhi bolte ho." Naina waved her head at his grouse, chuckling as they went down together.

At breakfast table, Sameer was concerned to se nanu still in his night clothes, "Aapki tabiyat toh theek hai na nanu. Ready nahi hue abhi tak."

The old man rested in his easy chair, "Barkhurdar ab tum dono aa gaye ho toh main zara late aunga. Aaj maali se nayi kism ke paudhe mangwaye hain. Ab office se zyada main ghar aur garden pe dhyan dunga. Tu aur Naina ho na kaam sambhalne ke liye."

Naina was relieved that he wasn't unwell and was doing things that he loved. She smiled, "Aap office ki tension mat lijiye nanu. Humein bas aapka guidance chahiye, baaki hum kar lenge."

"Arre beta office ki tension toh main pehle bhi nahi leta tha. Bas iss nalayak ki tension thi... naak pe gussa liye ghoomta tha, akela. Ab tumhare saath hai toh gussa bhi gayab ho gaya lagta hai." Nanu said brightly, laughing as Sameer frowned at his remark.

"Main kahan gussa karta hun nanu. Sab mujhe hi bodnaam karte hain." He pouted.

Nanu laughed heartily, "Badnaam toh tu hone laga hai... lekin gusse ke liye nahi, pyar ke liye. Aur iss baat ki mujhe bohot khushi hai. Aakhir mera beta mera naam roshan kar raha hai."

Naina was still blushing when they hit the road, "Sabko nazar aata hai ki tum..."

He cut her sentence, "Aana bhi chahiye. Aakhir mera pyar sachha hai."

She looked at him with grateful eyes, knowing how true that was.

Sameer and Naina were congratulated by every person they met in the parking area, in the lift, and when they stepped out on the office floor. She was surprised how some of the employees, who always called her by name started to address her as 'mam'.

"Aisa lag raha hai main kisi naye office mein aayi hun." She rolled her eyes when a middle aged staff member from Accounts section said the same.

Sameer chuckled at her discomfort, "Aadat daal lo, Mrs Maheshwari. Ab aap iss office ki owner ho."

She pursed her lips, not sure how long it will take for her to actually come to terms that she now held a different position here... in the same office where she had arrived just a year back, taking up a job for which she was overqualified.

Vedika gushed at her when she came to meet her after a while, "Wow Naina, you look amazing... so different."

Naina glanced down at herself. She was dressed in the same office clothes that she wore earlier, trousers and jacket, with a round neck top under it.

"Yeh kapde toh maine bohot baar pehne hain. Kya different hai?" She gave a confused look to her friend.

Vedika pinched her cheek, "Yeh face ka glow different hai, yeh laal hote hue gaal different hain, yeh gale mein jhaankta mangalsutra different hai," she held her hands and turned the palms up, "Mehendi halki pad gayi hai lekin phir bhi pata chal raha hai ki dulhan ki hai... yeh bhi different hai."

Naina pushed a non existent stray strand behind her ear, suddenly feeling conscious, "Mehendi toh tumhare haath pe bhi hai, aur mangalsutra nazar bhi nahi aa raha. Itna bhi kuch change nahi hai."

"Madam, kisi se puch lo... chehre pe jo yeh hundred watt ka bulb jal raha hai na, koi bhi dekh sakta hai kitna change hai." Vedika winked.

Naina scrunched her nose, then smiled, "I'm very happy."

"I can see that." Vedika said warmly, and shifted ahead from where they were seated on the same two seater sofa, embracing her.

"Naina main..." The door opened with a force and Sameer's voice drifted in the room.

He halted at the entrance, gulping uneasily, "Sorry... I didn't know... main woh..."

Vedika moved away from Naina, and stood up, "Main bas Naina ko congratulate karne aayi thi. I'm leaving. You carry on."

She turned back and winked at her friend, before nodding at Sameer and leaving. After she was gone, he shut the door, and pressed the lock.

"Sameer lock kyon kar rahe ho. Koi ayega toh kya sochega." She looked at him nervously.

"I don't care. Yeh jo abhi... aise Vedika ko... mujhe bhi hug chahiye." He fumbled for right words, knowing that Naina would chid him if he whined about their hug... but the fact was his over possessive heart couldn't stay still watching her embracing anyone... ANYONE.

Naina smirked, "Phir jalne lage. Vedika se bhi."

He strode ahead and pulled her in his arms, burying his face in her neck, "Sabse jalunga. Usse ek hug diya toh mujhe chaar chahiye."

She snaked her arms around his waist, under the blazer and rested her hands on his back, "Uske liye tumhe kehne ki zarurat nahi hai. I love to be here... in your arms."

Satisfied, he lifted his head and gave a lopsided smile, "Achha?"

"Tumhe doubt hai?" Her head still on his chest, she raised her brows.

He leaned to plant a kiss on her forehead, "Nahi. Par tumhe miss kar raha hun. Itne din se tumhe har waqt saath dekhne ki aadat ho gayi hai. Ab yeh alag alag rooms achhe nahi lag rahe."

"Sameer, office mein same room mein thodi baithenge. Kaam karna hai ya nahi." She did reprimand him... though for a different reason.

"Saath mein karte hain na. Aisa karo, tum apna laptop leke mere paas aa jao." He wasn't ready to leave her, in spite of her wriggling.

"Mr Maheshwari, aap apne room mein jaiye aur mujhe yahan kaam karne dijiye. Yeh romance ke ideas ghar jaane ke baad sochna." She placed her palms on his chest and pushed him harder.

Her dainty hands would have had no effect but he himself pulled away, recalling the amount of work that waited for him. Though, not before brushing his lips against her ear to whisper, "Ghar jaane ke baad ke bohot ideas hain mere paas. You be ready."

Her cheeks were blazing after he was gone. She wondered how he could always make such insinuating remarks.

Next two days were overly full of activity in office, with one thing after the other demanding attention. Sameer still managed some moments to be alone with Naina, amidst the frantic tasks needed to be done before book closing for the financial year.

Coming Saturday , they all were invited for lunch to Anand's house. Sameer had refused all other invitations, citing the tight work schedule, but Anand and Bela were not just Preeti's parents, they were now parents to Naina as well, and grandparents to Ayush, who loved to play with Anand and munch on different types of goodies that Bela prepared.

After a lazy morning and relaxed breakfast, Sameer had gone for a late bath. He stepped out of the washroom... and nearly fainted. Naina was dressed in a deep red saree, with a blouse in similar colour. It was the same one she had worn for Karwachauth the day Bhalla aunty unknowingly gave him the biggest gift of his life. That day, he couldn't tell her how beautiful and enchanting she looked. But there was no such restriction today. He took one step towards her... almost tripping over his own foot at what she did next moment.

She leaned ahead towards the mirror, to have a closer look at her lips to apply lipstick. Sameer blinked, missing several beats as he stared at the way her body curved from behind, her pallu that was pinned to her shoulder slipped on one side to reveal her velvety waist, her open hair shifted to either sides to give him a glimpse of the back exposed through a deep cut of her blouse. The soft material of saree was hugging at every bend, every rise of her body, making his thoughts go haywire.

Naina straightened, pressed her lips together, and capped the lipstick after she was satisfied with her reflection. She turned to her side, to find Sameer stuck to a spot, not very far from her, still in jeans and towel around his neck.

"Aree tum abhi tak ready nahi hue. Aisa karo, jacket rehne do sirf shirt hi pehen lo. Ab din ke time itni thand nahi hai. March start hote hi garmi ho gayi hai." She started to look for something in a large box.

"Garmi toh hai." He uttered in a low voice, reaching behind her.

She turned, to find him very close. What his eyes conveyed didn't go unnoticed from her, but she pretended to be ignorant, frowning at him, "Yeh kya Sameer, tumne baal theek se wipe nahi kiye. Idhar baitho, main karti hun."

She held his hand and made him sit on the couch next to the dresser. His eyes didn't move from her when she held both ends of his towel and started to rub at his neck. Once he had longed for this treatment from her... the day had come when she fussed over him the way he had seen her do with Ayush. He made up his mind to always come out after shower with his hair dripping wet.

But the decision had its repercussions too. Her warm, tantalising fragrance made him dizzy, her open hair tickled his bare shoulders, her softness teased his face... when she bent to wipe behind his head. Sameer grabbed her waist, burying his face in her belly.

Naina drew in a sharp breath, "Sam... Sameer."

"Sabse pehle jab tumhe saree mein dekha tha, yehi wali thi... aur woh din meri life ka best din tha. Aaj tumne wohi din yaad dila diya." He mumbled against her belly, his breath burning her skin through the thin layer of saree.

She clutched his shoulders, recalling the same day.

"Naina, you took my breath away that day... and you took my breath away today." He looked up, still holding her close.

Her fingers moved up to his hair, "Uss din yeh saree maine majboori mein pehni thi... sirf ek jhooth ko chupaye rakhne ke liye. Aaj koi jhooth nahi hai, koi majboori nahi. Maine aaj isse apne aur tumhare liye pehna hai, as your wife. Main har tarah se tumhari wife lagna chahti hun Sameer."

He touched the pendant of her mangalsutra, "Lag rahi ho. Yeh jo hum dono ke naam tumhare dil ke paas hain, yeh sabko bata dete hain ki tum meri wife ho."

She glanced at their names, and recalled what Vedika had said, making her cheeks blossom with the hue of roses.

"Aur kis kis tarah se meri wife ban sakti ho yeh soch rahi ho kya?" His fingers brushed over her cheek.

"Tum... tum bohot besharam ho." She stepped back, mortified at his unabashed remark.

"Arre Naina, suno toh... mujhe batane toh do tum kitni sundar lag rahi ho." He fell back on the couch at her sudden push, but quickly balanced himself.

"Pehle ready ho jao. Wahan jaake hi bata dena jo bhi kehna hai." She moved out of his reach.

"Main wahan kaise bataunga, wahan toh sab honge." He frowned, pulling on the shirt.

Naina slipped on the glass bangles, their deep red looking darker against her creamy smooth wrists, "Jab baatein zubaan se na ho paayein, toh aankhon ke ishaare se keh dena chahiye."

"Oh! Toh ab hum aankhon aankhon mein romance karenge. Achha test karte hain... batao meri aankhen abhi kya keh rahi hain." His voice turned heavier as he controlled himself from going to her, and play with the bangles which were making his nerves tingle with their alluring sound.

Naina lifted her eyes to him, and lowered them within a few seconds, seeing his half buttoned shirt, "Yeh chooriyan sataa rahi hain tumhe. Lekin bahar jaane ki majboori ne tumhe roka hai."

His brows went up, slightly amazed at her perfect deduction, then a slow smile spread on his lips, "Aur tumhari aankhen keh rahi hain ki yeh button band karne ki jagah inhe tod dena chahiye."

Her horrified gaze shot upto his face, slipped to his chest which was visible through two open buttons, and went up again, her eyes as wide as saucers.

He reached her in two long strides, and placed his finger under her chin, "Tum jo bhi aankhon aankhon se kehti ho, main samajh jaata hun... bohot achhe se. Maza aata hai... tumhari aankhen padhne mein."

"Dhatt." She turned her face to other side, her skin ablaze.

Her phone started to ring before Sameer could say or do anything else, and Naina picked it up immediately, seizing the chance to move away from him.

Preeti shrieked in her ears, "Guess who's back. Maine aate hi mummy ko bola pehle main Naina se milke aungi. Mummy ne bataya tum sab yahin aa rahe ho. Jaldi aajao na, I can't wait to meet you."

Her chirpy voice brought a wide smile on Naina's face, "Wrong number lag gaya shayad... main Rohan nahi Naina hun. I think yeh message uske liye hai."

"Very funny." Preeti sulked, "Mujhe pata hai Rohan wapas chala gaya. Usse mujhse zyada Mumbai se pyar hai. Pata nahi maine usse haan bola hi kyon. Long distance relationship nahi rakhni thi isliye maine US jaane se pehle kabhi usse apne dil ki baat nahi batayi... ki wapas aane tak agar woh kahin aur committed nahi hoga toh sochungi."

Naina's eyes widened, "US jaane se pehle? Matlab Preeti... tabse Rohan se..."

Realising her mistake, Preeti quickly cut her off, "Aaj meri aur Rohan ki nahi, tere honeymoon ki stories sunni hain mujhe. Aur haan, kitni bhi koshish kar le, tujhe baat ko twist nahi karne dungi."

Sameer watched the colour similar to her saree spread on her cheeks. Unable to keep away from her, he wrapped his arms around her from behind and brushed his lips against her neck. She looked over her shoulder at him, and frowned. He smiled innocently. She tried to move away, but his hold tightened.

"Nainaaa, kahan kho gayi? Yaar tu toh naam se hi silent mode mein chali gayi. stories kaise sunayegi." Preeti drawled loudly.

"Uhh Preeti... woh main...yeh sab baatein baad mein karenge. Abhi rakhti hun." She managed to utter as Sameer rubbed his thumb on her waist, which was bare under his hand.

Preeti whined, "Baad mein kya matlab? Aaj kyon nahi? Itni si baat pe tu phone rakhne lagi hai. Ab tujhse aisi baatein nahi karungi toh kya Sameer se puchne jaun?"

A gasp escaped Naina's mouth. Preeti chuckled, "Darr mat, nahi puch rahi."

What she didn't know was that Naina had only partially heard what she was saying. With Sameer placing soft kisses on the side of her neck, and stroking her belly with feathery touch of his fingers, it was hard for her to concentrate on the conversation.

"Mummy bula rahi hain Preeti." She quickly cut the call, before another sound erupted from her mouth.

As soon as she hung up, Sameer released her, and moved to the dresser. Whistling, he started to brush his hair.

Naina walked to him, and narrowed her eyes, "Yeh kya tha?"

He stopped, and gave her a perplexed look, "Kya sweetheart?"

"Yeh...", she lifted her hand to point at her neck, but stopped midway, "umm... tum mujhe disturb kyon kar rahe the?"

"Tum disturb hui kya?" His eyes glinted.

She glared at him, "Zyada smart nahi ban rahe tum?"

He threw away the brush, which landed on bed behind, and took a step towards her, "Banna kya hai... main toh hun hi sabse smart. Mujhse zyada handsome koi aur hai kya?"

"Of course hai. Main jaanti bhi hun." Naina said matter of factly.

Sameer was stunned at her unexpected reply, the green eyed monster in him alert. But before he could ask her more, the door to their room pushed open and Ayush barged in, dressed in black jeans and bright yellow hoodie.

"Naina mumma, main new dress mein kaisa lag raha hun?" He smoothened his hair, beaming at them.

Naina threw a glance at Sameer, then raised her brows in appreciation at the little boy, "Ayush toh hai hi smart... sabse zyada handsome." She cleared her throat, "Aur kuch log hain jo khud ko tujhse zyada handsome maante hain."

Sameer grinned in relief. He was in no competition with his son. Bending down, he adjusted the strings hanging from Ayush's hoodie cap. Then kneeled next to him, drawing him close with one arm around him, "Tumhari mumma theek kehti hai. Tumse zyada handsome toh koi hai hi nahi. Aakhir bete kiske ho." He turned to look at Naina, "Haina Naina?"

She walked to them, and smiled fondly, "Haan. Dono ek jaise ho." Her smile changed to a mischievous one, as she quickly ruffled both their hair, "Dono sabse handsome lag rahe ho."

Both growled together, "Saare baal kharab kar diye."

But Naina was already gone, leaving the sound of her ringing laughter behind.
