Chapter 2: The Rules

One of the most important things in the roleplay are the rules. Typically, rules may consist of the password, which is necessary in order to be accepted into the rp (roleplay). Let's go over some of the basic terms and what they mean:

God-mods: So, what this means really is that you need to make you're character realistic. You know how when you're a little kid, and there's always that kid who blocks every spell you cat on him for NO reason. That's what this rule is essentially about, so don't be that person to brake this one, because it's the most important.

No smut: It's pretty clear what this one is. Don't be that person... please... it's not cool.

OC Limits: This isn't too confusing I hope. OCs are your playable characters in the roleplay. Usually, the rules will specify what kind of maximums there are for making characters. If there is no specification, and no rule stating it is unlimited, assume three is the maximum, but you can always ask.

We will get to making OCs in Chapter 4

No Killing: This is an important one, please do not kill people unless you are playing that character or DM if you can kill them. Going to be honest, you will rarely find people willing to die, but if you really want to I suppose you can give it a shot

No Swearing/ Filtering: If a roleplay says no swearing, just don't say any of the really ones. I mean if you slip no one is gonna kick you out for one time, but no one wants a sailor mouth.

Filtering is essentially just not wanting the comment to be reported, because once it is it's freaking annoying. They survey it and seem if the roleplay is safe, I don't know, but you should always just filter it. So if you say shït, hold down the i and you should get options to change its form. You can really change any letter, or use an emoji to be one of the letters, but please I know it drives me nuts when people don't filter.

Descriptive: What this means is that they don't want, "Liam jumped..." This is WAY too short, so try to add things. What is the character feeling inside, what kind of actions are they doing in the moment, you can get as dramatic and morbid as you like. I mean... don't write two paragraphs, this isn't a book, it's a roleplay, but write something good and juicy.

My Own Rules for You: So these are just a couple of things I think you need to keep in mind:

1) You are not the star of the show. Usually, if you jump into a roleplay later on, you need to take time to establish your character, it doesn't happen overnight. Try to keep active and maybe you will get to that point, but you have to accept when your character is the star and when it is time to step into the background

2) Do not be too dramatic. Kind of goes with the piece above, don't take all the attention with your dramatic orphan story... I beg you.
