Chapter 1

"Mom, I really don't know. And I don't have time. I have to get to school."

"Okay, sweetie. Have a good day."

I sighed. "I will. Bye mom."

I put my phone in my pocket and put my grey jacket on.

My parent weren't divorced, by they had so many problems. Plus, they didn't have the money to divorce.

And when I was sixteen, I just couldn't take it. I left. And they didnt stop me.

I moved into my own apartment in peace. Well, I called it peace, but really it was just quiet.

So now, I was a seventeen year old senior living alone with no one near.

I slid my keys off the counter and shoved my hair into a messy bun with one hand.

I grabbed my backpack and headed out the door.

"Good morning, Miss Geogry".

I walked backwards and replied,"Good morning, Noah."

Noah was my next door neighbor who lived with his sister, Darby. They were really nice, but I didn't talk to them much.

Darby was a freshman at my school and Noah was a sophomore in college.

It was funny to see them walk together, Noah at 6'1" and Darby at 5'4".

I opened my back car door and tossed my things inside. I clumsily plopped into the front seat and began driving.

I arrive at school ten minutes early, so I sat in my car, going through my phone.

At 7:59, I decided to go inside. School technically didn't start until 8:04, but I was kinda slow.

As I walked in, immediately an arm went around my shoulder.

"Hey Brae, so here's the thing..."

I slipped out of his hold an turned to face him.

"Tim, If it's some lame excuse to ask me to homecoming, then no."

He threw his hands up. "Lame? What? When im have I ever asked you out with a lame excuse?"

I smirked. "Last year, you told me that your dying grandmas last wish was that you go to homecoming with someone popular. Considering I saw your grandma running on the bike path last week, I'm not sure how I feel about that."

He smiled a little. "Okay, I admit, that was a little twisted. But this year, my reasoning I flawless."

I crossed my arms. "What's it this time?"

"Well, you see, my brother is taking Kylie Fansfa. And he was bragging about it and all..."

I shook my head. "I see exactly where this is going. I'm not going to homecoming to be a trophy."

"Oh, come on Braelynn. Help a brother out."

I rolled my eyes. "Sorry bub. Not this time. And besides, we're gonna be late for class."

I hurried to my class and plopped down in my chair. I felt a poke. I ignored it. Then I felt again. After about five times I flashed over.

"Oh my gosh! Stop it Cam!"

She smiled. "I knew it'd work."

I huffed. "What do you want?"

"Are you ready for the test?"

My eyes widened an I glanced over. "What? What test?"

She laughed. "Just kidding. There isn't one."

I sighed with relief.

"I just need a favor."

I groaned. "What Is it?"

"Can you get Darion to ask me to homecoming?"

I looked over. "I'll do my best."

She giggled. "Thanks Brae."

I nodded. Then the bell rang...

...

I took a moment to gather my many thoughts after all classes were over. I had been poked, grabbed, demanded, and asked a million things. And because I was Braelynn Geogry, I said yes to all of them.

I was the problem solver girl, I guess. No one even asked or suspected that I had a single problem of my own. Or they just didn't care.

Appear there were quite a few new people this semester, so they weren't aware of the swing of things, lucky for me.

For example, this new kid stopped me in the hallway on the way out.

"Hey, I'm Emerson."

I nodded. "Braelynn."

He smiled. "Do you wanna go out?"

I laughed out loud. "Why would I do that? I literally met you two seconds ago."

He flushed red. "Sorry, I just thought..."

I interrupted him. "You thought that I was the average slut who goes out with my dumb jerk who falls in her path. Well, hate to disappoint, but I'm not."

He looked super embarrassed. I smiled in satisfaction. "Good day, Emerson."

I walked out, shifting my hips.

I didn't know why, but embarrassing dumb guys brought me happiness.

I had to admit, he had one nicely carved face though.

Just then, I received a text.

Nora: Brae-brae, I need to talk to someone. Have a minute to listen?

I groaned. Another problem that I have to deal with.

Me: Sure

I hated this. I was like a volunteer work Psychiatrist. Except, I never volunteered. I never agreed to any of this.

Hey! Don't worry! I'll explain more about Braelynn in the next few chapters. Hope you're liking this! Don't forget to vote and comment!
