Tale I; Kronos and Rhea - Chapter V

The whole Castle of Othrys was shook by Themis’ sudden entrance in the council room. She slammed the doors with a sonorous sound, her bronze eyes gazing with anger at the two men before her. As always, Atlas was leaned down on the ebony table, refusing to acknowledge her presence and continuing his work, but Kronos rose up to meet his sister's gaze, for once his eyes not looking murderous or angry, just stern.

“I've done what was supposed to be done”

Was all he said with a deep, calculated voice. His response was met by Themis’ huff. The Titaness’ face turned into a grimaced, her mouth still open, but without any sounds coming out. She continued to glare with anger at the King, like Mnemosyne didn't invent enough words for her to throw at him.

She exited the room as loud and fast as she entered it, the memory of her being there already appearing ghostly. Atlas rose an eyebrow, as if asking if there was anything that serious, but Kronos brushed it off immediately.

“I've heard that the Queen had fled from Othrys last night”

“And?”

Atlas didn’t have any more words, after Kronos’ cold tone hit him with the question that should never be answered.

— rose
