Love of Waves - Part 2
The next morning I woke up to the song of birds chirping. I looked down at the lump next to me, Sebastian looked so beautiful in his sleep. Without thinking I brushed some of his hair from his face, hoping to get a better look at him. This however is what started to wake him up. I quickly drew my head back and pretended to sleep.
"I can see you blushing, you're worse then a tavern wench. You know that right?"
I could only blush more at his words, but I still hoped he thought I was asleep.
"Must be one pretty good dream, I guess" he sighed. It was working. "You must have a girl back home. Probably some sweet farmer's daughter and you're looking for money." His voice turned sad. "Yeah, I bet you've got a life, a real life. I shouldn't keep you held back. I knew even thinking you could like me was observed." I slowly opened my eyes, Sebastian was facing away from me now. He started to get out of bed, but I was faster, reaching out and taking his hand. He nearly jumped out of his skin. "Hey... how much of that did you hear?"
"All of it" I said and watched the others cheeks tune a pretty shade of red. "But who's to say any of what you said was true?"
"I..." He stopped. "So you don't have a girl back home?"
I shook my head "No, and why would you be so convinced that I couldn't like you"
"Well not in the way I would hope" he pulled his hand away and got up. "I'll get breakfast. Just get this room nice." He walked out of the room and I couldn't help but sigh. I loved making the other blush, but I needed to find a way to explain it. However I was never good with words. We still had the treasurer hunt and maybe I could think of something during that.
Normally we were given three days shore and we had to make it back to the ship for the third night. This was only the second day. I started to get out of bed just as the door opened. Sebastian was holding two plates of food. He handed one to me and started to eat his own. I started to eat as well before turning yo him, "so what do we know about the treasure?"
Sebastian thought for a moment "Well it's not here exactly, but part of the key is barried here".
Part of the key? Why would only part of the key be berried here?"
"Don't you pay attention? This is the key to the treasurer of Sliver Bread" I was puzzled for a moment trying to recall the story. Sebastian rolled his eyes "you really are hopeless but we need to get moving. All you need to know is this treasure hunt is going to take a while." Sebastian gets his shoes on. "Now hurry up" for a moment he had this annoyed look on his face. Then as I quickly finished my breakfast I sneak another look at him, who was now smiling. I got my saddles on and stretched.
"I'm ready when you are" I said opening the door. "I don't know where I'm going"
"Right" Sebastian started walking and I followed after him.
We walked down the streets that were already starting to fill. The crowed grew thicker as we made our way to the main streets. I moved quickly to keep up with him as I really, really didn't want to lose him. As we moved even deeper into the city I knew I couldn't keep up with the other. Not sure that my voice would be loud enough to get the other's attention. Instead I reached out my hand and grabbed the other's shoulder.
"Hey!" Sebastian said but quickly stopped, probably because he realized it was me. "Hey what's the big idea?" His voice was much quieter as I was now standing next to him.
"I thought I was going to lose you. Stop moving so fast"
"What? You want me to hold your hand or something?"
"Well yeah," I said without really thinking, not even noticing the joking tone in his voice. Once the words had fallen from my limps everything clicked and now my cheeks were flushed.
To my surprise he didn't say anything, just taking my hand and dragging me to the edge of the city. When we were free of the crowed and tracking down a dusty road we were still holding hands. I didn't know what I was supposed to say or even if I was supposed to say anything at all.
As our walked slowed it seemed Sebastian, too, noticed our hands still entangled. "You can let go now"
"You could have let go a while ago" I wasn't quite sure where I had gotten that line, but I liked it. We walked a bit farther before he did pull his hand away walking to an old tree on the side of the road.
"It should be here somewhere" he started to dig around the roots of the tree.
I walked over and started to help. I used the sword i kept at my side to dig. "Now what exactly am I looking for?"
Sebastian looked at me from around the tree "A small bag with a key in it. You didn't listen to the story at all did you?"
"I was listening, just more yo your voice then what you were saying."
"Stop that" he snapped going back to work.
"Stop what?" I was confuse, I was only saying the truth.
"Stop trying to flirt with me" his cheeks were flushed and there was anger in his voice. I sighed and moved closer to his side of the tree.
"Why are you so sure I'm flirting with you?" I moved closer to him and he shifted away from me. "Or at least why are you giving me such a thrashing?"
Sebastian stopped moving, seeming to be thinking. "Because there is no way that you can feel the way that I do."
"Really?" I moved closer until I was less then an arm's length away. "Do you think I don't get the flushed cheeks? Or do I not get butterflies in my stomach?" I took his hand and reached out my hand to his hand and reached out my other hand to his cheek. "Or are you saying that I don't think you're the most beautiful person in the world?" I saw him smile and I could feel the warmth on hid cheeks.
"I just... I mean... this isn't normal, these feelings..." he was flustered.
"What's the point of normal?" I was smiling and so was he.
I had no way of explaining how we knew, but in that moment we knew. We leaned closer and let our lips press together in the most magical kiss I've ever had. When we finally moved away from each other Sebastian had his charming pirate smile and his eyes started to sparkle. "Still think I don't feel the same as you?"
Sebastian leaned against me for a moment and took a long deep breath. "What do we do now?" I had a feeling that he was talking about what we would do with our relationship.
"We do our best to to keep this quite, and to stay together as long as possible." He nodded and slowly pulled away and went back to digging. "Now go on, we need to find that key" and that's how I spent the next hour, digging for that keys.
