Summary: Long ago, a curse was placed upon a lake, far from human touch for centuries. But as humans explored and expanded out, it was discovered. The water appeared pure and clean. The humans were greedy and quickly started to bottle it and sell it into the towns. But they quickly discovered they had done a great wrong. People in the town started to transform into half beast. Dogs, cats, rabbits, snakes, cows, sheep, whatever you could think of. Soon they discovered it wasn't just their average animals. But dragons, fairies, werewolves, saytars, merpeople, and more mythical creatures. Some humans decided to hunt the hybrids down for many different reasons. To sell, to gain something they had, or just to terminate. But now, Hybrids are reemerging after centuries of hiding. The hunters having all disappeared for a long time now. But with their reappearance, it brings old enemies back from the grave as well...

The Hermits

Cleo: Cleo was a human too but died of a illness. Family resurrected her early in death so she still had the mind of a human but more zombie body. She's tried to find ways to die many a time but found she can't. She and Joe developed a tight relationship for he's the one that found her and talked her out of another attempt. She confides everything in him.

Cub: Naga. Cub finds and saves Scar from suffocating. He is in hiding due to having killed humans from lack of control of his hybrid state. Scar saves him later in life. Only time he's sung to make someone do something.

Doc: Creeper/Robot
Ren: Werewolf
Doc and Ren were both born as humans but were abducted later in life and experimented on, transforming them both into hybrids. They met each other there and started a revolution and broke out. Not much later they were found by the hermits and taken in.
Doc's robotic parts were also from this whole thing as well as creeper. He was unable to talk for a long period of time.
Ren was turned into a werewolf and the two stuck together cause they were both new to the whole "hybrid" thing.

False: A Fairy/fae False was raised by Fae her whole life until humans cut their forest down.

Grian: A Thunderbird Hybrid. He has about three pairs of wings and a long tail. While he was traveling with Sam and Taurtis they were saved by some vikings and the queen of them became rather fond of him. She locked him in a room with her to do as she pleased. Grian cried for Sam and Taurtis to get him away from her but Sam brushed it off, "You'll be fine for one night, Grian." Taurtis didn't agree and wanted to help but couldn't knowing Sam would hurt both of them for it... Late into the night, Grian had managed to avoid the woman this far in the small room but was wearing down. He was really panicking when she caught him pinned him down.
Grian doesn't remember much about what happened after that part but remembers coming to and seeing her dead corpse on the ground, electrocuted and slashed. Blood staining his hands.
He panicked and broke out of the room, ran to get Sam and Taurtis but decided against it last second and summoned his wings and flew away, Sam and Taurtis waking to see him flying away and found Helga's dead body.
Grian lost all trust in people at that point.
When he had blacked out, he fully transformed. He was rather large for the space and lightning and thunder struck wildly outside setting fires.
He screeched and attacked Helga thus killing her. He kept attacking even after she was dead until he came back too.

Impulse: Impulse is a phantom/spirit. He was more or less abandoned early on.

Iskall: Iskall is a radioactive crystal golem (iskallium) took out his eye with his own powers. Made a robotic replacement.

Jevin: Jevin has been disguised as a human with a potion but doesn't let anyone touch him for fear of them sticking. Has crystallized bones and can change density.

Joe: Joe is a Saytar. Just travels the worlds and all that they have to offer.

Mumbo: Mumbo is a fruit bat vampire. He only drinks fruit juice except orange juice. He's allergic to that. He was pretty young when he fled his village from a blood vampire raid that he got mixed up in. Xisuma found him and quickly took him in.

Scar: Scar is a Siren but claims to be merman. He was abused as a kid by other kids for being a freak but his parents were very supportive and loving. He was locked in a locker/janitors closet without water and he almost died that day from "drowning". It was the closest he's ever been but not the only time he's been near it thanks to these kids. He hates using his voice to control others but has only done it once intentionally to save Cub.

Stress: Stress fled her village do to causing blizzards. Ice nymph.

Tango: Demon. His parents killed him when he was born because of it. But he resurrected. Over the course of his life he has been killed and come back from it making him trust very few people.

Tin: Centaur. (no other notes sksksk)

Xisuma and Xenos: Xisuma was a human with unactive Hybrid genes. He was born a "twin" but the two ended up more like a split personality then anything else. Xavier and Xenos. Xenos being "Evil" Xisuma. Xenos experimented on them and brought the hybrid genes to the surface starting to turn them into a gargoyle. Xisuma is resisting the best he can with potions but is only slowing it down. One arm and part of his face is stone thus the mask and helping him breathe due to it making him sick.

Wels: Wels was hunted and chased out of his village when he turned 18 because all hybrids transform fully into their other state at the age of 18. He changed into a large dragon.

Zedaph: Angel. He was abandoned at birth.

Others

Sam: Sam is a rabbit hybrid. Not mythical. He isn't exactly sane.
He met Grian when they were 5 and 7 respectively and Grian told him about his mythical form. Sam betrayed Grian using the information twice at least. Once when Grian told him he didn't want to get in trouble for being a mythic so Sam tried to break or get rid of his wings. He managed to damage a couple before Grian was able to get away but thankfully they'd heal. Another was when they encountered hunters for the first time. He shoved Grian forward, claiming him to be a mythical and fled leaving him for dead. Grian later used the nomicon to wipe Sam's memory of knowing he was a hybrid. Sam felt very betrayed when Grian fled the scene and has been angry at him ever since. He thinks Grian went feral.

Taurtis: Taurtis is a completely normal human. He is friends with Sam and Grian. He is very aware Sam isn't quite sane and that he's a hybrid. He didn't know Grian was a hybrid until Grian fled after some events...

Sally: Sally is a rare mythical. A white phoenix. But she is also cursed to change into her mythic form against her will, much like nagini in harry potter. She met Grian when walking through the forest and stumbling across him, crashed and on the brink of death. His wings were broken and torn up. She ran to him and tried to save him only to realize the only way to do so was to risk transforming possibly permanently. She cried over him, her tears healing him and bringing him back.
