Chapter 11(interrogations are frustrating with rambling demigods)

Percy pov

I woke up slowly. I yawned bringing my hand up to rub my eyes. Except, I couldn't lift my hand. I frowned, slowly opening my eyes. I blinked confused as to where I was. I was sitting on a chair with my hands cuffed to the table in front of my and my ankles to the chair legs.

"What in the world?" where was I? this certainly didn't look like camp. Then it clicked. The Avengers. I gasped. What had happened to my friends? I sighed remembering that they had gotten away. Ugghhh, Annabeth was going to kill me. That is, if SHIELD didn't do it first. Actually, if they killed me Annabeth would probably go to the underworld and bring me to life just so that she could kill me again. Athena kids and grudges.

I tried to get Riptide out of my pocket but with my hands cuffed to the table I wasn't able to. I also couldn't feel my water powers. Annabeth had talked to me about special restraints that could block a powerful person's powers. I guess they worked on demigods too.

I looked around my surroundings again. The room was a plain grey. Walls, floor, ceiling, table, and chairs. They really needed to bring in some decorators. It was really dreary in here. Some blue would look nice.

My attention was drawn to what appeared to be a mirror. Must be a one-way window, I thought. Thank you Annabeth. She was constantly telling me random facts that interested her at the moment. She had wondered if something similar could work against Medusa.

I started tapping my foot my ADHD showing in that I was having a hard time keeping still. I sighed getting impatient and turned towards were I figured they were watching me.

"Could you hurry it up, I'm bored." There was no response. "I really should get going. My folks are going to wonder where I am. And you really don't want to make my friends angry." Still no response. "You know, it's really rude to invite someone here and then ignore them. You should really work on your hospitality skills. And this room is very boring. You should really consider hiring a professional decorator. Some blue and green would look nice. By the way these cuffs are really uncomfortable and no way to treat a guest. And the stereotypical interrogation room? Seriously? It's not in the least bit intimidating. And seriously, you think that by leaving me in here alone will make me more willing to answer your questions? It's only giving me more time to plan more glorious escape. Have you heard of Houdini? He was a good escape artist. You probably haven't since you are cooped up in your tower all the time doing nothing."

By now I was just rambling. Hoping it would make them come in so we could get this whole interrogation thing done with and I could go home to eat blue cookies.

On the other side of the glass....

"Will someone please get him to shut up. He's driving me crazy." An annoyed Tony Stark said. After the had picked up the boy they had surveyed the area in an attempt to find the other teens. They found nothing. It was like they had simply vanished. They had taken Perseus and locked him in the interrogation room to wait for him to wake up. Now though, now, they were all wishing he was unconscious again.

"Now you know how we feel every time you open your big mouth." Clint commented.

"Watch it bird brain." Tony said glaring, Clint just smirked.

"What's wrong? Finally find someone better than you at annoying people? Sorry, but it looks like you're just not the best anymore."

"Be quiet or I will personally make sure neither of you leaves the infirmary for a very long time." Natasha said glaring at the two who were acting like toddlers. They both immediately closed their mouths. Truthfully though, this Perseus character was beginning to annoy her too. Also there was the question of whether he had powers or not. She thought they should have taken more precaution in case Perseus did somehow have abilities.

"Alright," Bruce said, "who's going to question him?"

"The mighty Perseus should not be locked up. He is a hero and should not be treated as a criminal." Thor stated.

"Thor, we cannot treat Perseus as anything other than a criminal unless you tell us why you think he is a hero. We have proof that he is a potential terrorist or at least a mischief maker." Steve said.

"I am forbidden from speaking of such matters, but I will not allow harm to come to the boy and can assure you that if anything does happen you will have more than just me to deal with." Thor replied.

Natasha narrowed her eyes. She would get to the bottom of this. "Tony, you go in first."

"But whyyyyy......"

"Because you were the first to confront him and therefore should be the first to try to get information from him."

"Fine," Tony huffed crossing his arms.

Tony entered the room and sat down in the chair opposite Perseus.

"Finally," I said, "I thought you'd never come. I was getting bored." I leaned back, as far as I could cuffed to the table.

"Perseus Jackson, you are here.."

"It's Percy, I don't go by my full name."

"Fine, Perseus Jackson," I glared. He shrunk back a bit but then recovered. "you are here because we have records of events that mark you as a terrorist." I started laughing.

"Seriously," I said chuckling, "that's why I'm here? Oh, this is hilarious. I'm not a terrorist. I just happen to have bad luck and get mixed up in bad situations."

"What about the St. Louis Arch?"

"Nope, you kidnapped me. I'm too traumatized to answer questions. Especially to a stranger who has previously attacked me." I said fake sniffling.

"You will answer the questions whether you feel like it or not." Tony said starting to get annoyed.

"No." I said jutting out my chin childishly. I also tried to cross my arms but the restraints didn't let me so I settled for just pouting.

"Why did you blow up the St. Louis Arch?" Tony tried again.

"I'm not supposed to talk to strangers." I said smirking at Tony's frustration.

"I am the billionaire Tony Stark aka Iron Man one of the Avengers who has saved the world." How could you not have heard of me?!" I shrugged.

"I've heard a little bit about you from my girlfriend but other than that not much. I don't really have time to watch the news." I said. "When can I leave again? I should get going, I have places to be people to see."

"You're not going anywhere"

"Oh," I said realizing something. "You said you were a millionaire right?"

"Billionaire"

"Whatever, but with that money you could totally remodel this room. It's really stereotypical. I mean, all gray? Come on. You need more color. And this chair is really uncomfortable. And what's with these cuffs. Innocent until proven guilty, right? You should really consider making this room more comfortable. And dark with the one light shinning on me? Please. That is so not intimidating. It's rather ridiculous if you ask me. And that one-way window thingie isn't fooling anyone. Why not just get a regular window? All in all I rate this room a .5 out of 10, and that's being generous. Now, if you would be so kind as to remove these cuffs I should get going."

The door to the room slammed open and Natasha walked in motioning for Tony to leave.

Back with the other avengers.....

That kid must be crazy. Clint was thinking. He couldn't help laughing as Tony grew frustrated with the kid's ramblings. Bruce was also chuckling. Even Steve appeared to be holding back a smile. Natasha though, was growing frustrated as this questioning seemed to be getting nowhere.

"That was amazing, I've never seen anyone fail so miserable at interrogating someone before." Clint said smirking.

"Both of you pay attention. The boy might accidentally reveal something about himself." Steve said.

"That's it, I'm going in." Natasha declared shoving her way through the guys gathered near the door.

I was having fun getting Stark frustrated. It was actually pretty easy. As I was about to continue my rant Black Widow walked into the room. Yes! Another victim to irritate. "Wow, didn't your mom teach you not to slam doors?" I asked. She ignored me.

"Stark, get out. I'm taking over from here."

"Fine. Good luck getting any information out of him," he said grumbling as he walked out and slammed the door closed behind him.

"Wow, what is it with you Avengers and slamming doors." Black Widow sat down with her hands on the table and just stared at me, more like glared. She stayed like that for a while till finally I huffed. "Look, I know I'm pretty good looking but don't you think you're a little old for me?" I heard laughing on the other side of the glass and smirked. She was still staring at me. "Look, lady, I could sit here all day while you stare at me, but frankly it's a little creepy and I'd rather go home. So if you're done being a creepy stalker could you please unlock these cuffs?" She still stared at me. Ugghhh, what is it with this lady. I smirked. Two could play at this game.

I leaned forward and stared at her my mouth set in a firm line. She blinked. "Ha! You blinked! I win!" Still no reaction. Fine. Different strategy. I leaned forward putting what I believe was a very attractive expression on my face, "Hey, baby" I said in a very attractive voice that always made Annabeth punch me. Black Widow made a choking sound. "What's wrong," I continued, "felling uncomfortable?" I leaned forward staring at her with my brilliant sea-green eyes. She seemed to growl.

"Why did you blow the St. Louis Arch?"

"And Behold! She speaks!" I said trying to spread my hands out like a showman but being stopped because of the cuffs. Very annoying things, especially when they get in the way of my awesomeness. "Hey guys," I said turning towards the glass, "Did you know she could talk? I was beginning to think she was mute and trying to communicate telepathically." I heard laughter from the other side. Success! Black Widow annoyed and the other laughing at my brilliantly funny jokes. Too bad Leo isn't here we could have a joke-off. I snorted thinking about the last time we had done that. Leo had ended up catching the Big House on fire. He had clean up duty for a month. Ahhh, fun times.

"....so you will tell us what you know." I looked up. Opps. Black Widow had been talking to me.

"Ummm, I'm sorry, well not really since you kidnaped me, but I kind of zoned out, so..... could you repeat what you just said?"

Black Widow gaped at me, "I said," she continued practically snarling, "that we have files showing you to be a terrorist or at least working for a terrorist group. So unless you want serious consequences you will tell us what you know."

"Oooooh! Well like I told you guys before I am not a terrorist nor do I work for terrorists nor will I ever work for terrorists. So," I said trying and failing to clap my hands together. Dumb wrist cuffs, "can I go now?"

She stood up. "You will answer our questions. One way or another. We will continue our questioning tomorrow." She walked to the door.

"Wait," I called. She stopped. "Are you really going to make me spend the night here. I mean, aren't you guys rich? Couldn't you afford to make rooms for people who are being imprisoned, might I add, incorrectly?"

She smirked walking out of the room. When the door closed I heard and saw a green gas leaking into the room from the corner. I groaned. "Seriously," I called already feeling the numbing, sleepy affects of the gas.

Back with the Avengers...

Natasha stormed into the Avengers living room were everyone had gathered after putting Perseus in another cell. She was seething.

"Looks like he got to you too?" Clint said snickering. She glared at him and he quickly shrunk back. Tony was sulking while drinking straight from the coffee pot. Thor was eating pop tarts (seriously where did Thor liking pop tarts start?) he was enjoying the fact that Perseus had frustrated them in their questioning.

Natasha turned towards him, "Thor, what do you know." She said glaring.

He shrank back but answered, "I am under oath to not speak of young Perseus."

"We'll try again tomorrow. For now let's try to get some rest" Steve said trying to calm the group down.

"I'm going to my lab," Banner said going to the elevator.

"We need to be ready. His friends may try to rescue him. And if Perseus really does have powers then his friends might too."

"If they did then why didn't they use them during the fight?" Tony asked.

"They probably wanted to keep them as a secret unless necessary. It's a good strategy." Steve said. Natasha and Clint nodded both knowing the importance of having a trick up your sleeve.

"I'm going down to my lab" Tony said walking towards the elevator with another filled coffee pot.

"Try to get some rest. We need to be prepared for an attack tomorrow." Steve said.

Tony snorted, "as if a bunch of kids could pose a threat."

"They defeated us last time," Clint said.

"That's because we weren't prepared for them. Now that we know they are stronger than your average kid we can easily defeat them. They could never defeat the Avengers." Tony said entering the elevator.

Steve, Clint, and Natasha went to their rooms to rest. Thor stood in the kitchen smiling, "I cannot wait to see the demigods in glorious battle." He squealed, fangirling a little now that the rest of the Avengers were out of the room.

There you go. Another chapter. Sorry for taking so long to update. I had finals and then got sick and yeah.... Hope you liked it.
