Trip Down Memory Lane
Jason hadn't planned on his day being this bad, but things just never went his way. He stood frozen in place with his sword drawn. It wasn't time control, he knew that for sure. What he did know was that Percy was still pissed at him and he was about to die.
Jason's siblings stood there in shock. They didn't understand how the son of Poseidon was overpowering their older brother, who just happened to be a god.
Jason on the other hand knew exactly what Percy was doing. He had never witnessed it, but Annabeth had told them after they escaped Tartarus. He was using the water in his blood to keep him powerless.
"You promised Annabeth that you would never use that power again!" Jason yelled as the pain began to increase.
Percy's eyes turned a dark green; his body began to glow. Now this, Jason had seen before.
During the final battle against Gaea, Percy had witnessed a son of Demeter die. The boy couldn't have been more than twelve. Percy had become enraged at the sight. His body had glowed the exact same way and there was a blast of light that had obliterated half of Gaea's army.
"You do not get to speak her name. You are at fault for her death! I may not be allowed to kill you, but I can inflict unimaginable pain upon you." He growled before dropping his hand. Jason could feel his control go away. The son of Jupiter tried to take the opportunity to attack, but it seemed Percy was hoping for that.
His body was still slightly glowing and it was slowly getting brighter. Jason, in his foolishness, didn't notice the change and when he was within a few feet Percy screamed.
In the split second before he got hit with enough force to destroy a skyscraper. He thought about how he should have just gone shopping with his wife like Piper suggested earlier.
"Dammit!" Jason yelled before he was hit. His body was sent flying through the air, not stopping until he slammed right through the infirmary wall.
Percy had to bite back a chuckle. The other sons of Zeus stepped back. "Oh, come on now. You aren't scared of little old me are you?"
One let out a squeak, another pissed himself, and they all ran away.
"This is what we have to fight a war with a primordial and his son? We are all fucked." Percy muttered so no one else could hear him.
Chiron sat speechless, he wasn't exactly sure what the beef between the two was, but he knew that Jason had done something to anger the son of Poseidon. He also knew that it had something to do with the death of Annabeth, but after hearing Percy confirm his suspicions he understood the mans anger. Annabeth had been everything for him and when she died he had gone to war with the mythological world.
He had brought his daughter to the camp for Chiron to look after. Percy had been gone for two years before he came to get his daughter. When Chiron had asked what had happened the son of Poseidon just stared at him with those empty eyes.
Chiron had noticed the change in his persona after he came back. Years later he had heard rumors of a demigod that had willingly entered Tartarus and became the Champion of the Arena. He had soon realized that that's where Percy had disappeared to for those two years.
The Arena was basically a coliseum for monsters to host their own gladiator games. The winner would become Champion and be granted one wish from Tartarus himself.
"Percy." The ancient centaur said.
The son of Poseidon turned his attention to the man he thought of as a second father.
"Yes?"
Chiron sighed, "Come with me."
Percy followed him out of the dining pavilion and into the Big House. Chiron rolled into the dining room and spun around to face him.
"Sit." He gestured toward the couch.
Percy frowned, but sat nonetheless. "What am I doing here Chiron?"
The older man snapped his fingers and two glasses of whiskey appeared. Percy raised an eyebrow, "That's new."
Chiron cracked a smile, "Most things are exactly the same since you were last here, minus a few minor details."
"Like being told to train an army when all I'm given are children with bad attitudes."
"You were only twelve when you found out about this world. Annabeth was seven, younger than you. Both of you survived two of the worst wars the mythological world has seen."
Percy nodded, "True, but that was a different time. Most demigods were born into poverty and had tough lives before they came here. We were already strong; these kids act like they were born here, like they own the place. Very few of us remain from that time. Tell me, what happened to this place?"
"I was tired, I needed some time to get away. I went and traveled the world again. This was after you dropped Samantha off with me. I spent a good year out in the world, free from my burden of responsibility's. When I came back things were different. There were many new faces here and most of the older campers were gone. At the time Jason had been appointed camp leader for a few weeks and couldn't contain the older campers."
Percy stared at him curiously, "What do you mean contain?"
Chiron sighed, this was not one of his better memories.
"Jason has never been as bad as his father, but has never had the best intentions like you. He had been sending out pointless quests. Zeus was searching for something, but never told anyone, not even me. I still don't know what it is he was looking for. Regardless, many campers stopped listening to him. They were tired of dying for something they didn't understand."
Percy began to get angry, somehow knowing what he was about to be told wasn't going to be to his liking.
"They revolted."
Chiron nodded, "Yes, they did. Led by the Stolls too."
Percy let out a chuckle for two of his best friends. "Those crazy sons of bitches probably gave Jason hell."
Chiron laughed too, "They did, but it was in vain. Jason was a god and they were just demigods. When they took up arms Zeus gave the order for them to be killed. Jason slew dozens of them, not even caring if they were his friends or not. They stood no chance."
Percy said nothing, just sat there. He suddenly stood up and before Chiron could try to stop him Percy was already out of the Big House. Chiron wheeled out to the front porch just in time to see Jason walk out of the infirmary and Percy run straight at him.
Jason turned as he was tackled by the son of Poseidon. Both of them went straight into the door, smashing it to splinters. They rolled around for a while, throwing punches at each other. Jason ended up on top and got a few punches in before Percy shoved him off.
Jason landed on his back and managed to bring his hands up to deflect one of Percy's fists. He swung again and caught the son of Jupiter in the mouth. Both of them were bleeding, but neither was going to let the other win without a fight.
Percy managed to gain the upper hand and began to pummel Jason's face as if he were a piece of meat. Through his rage fueled bloodlust, Percy was grabbed from behind slung teen feet back.
A crowd was beginning to gather around them. Some were cheering for Jason and others were rooting for Percy. Bets were being made, but most were betting on Percy.
He looked up to find Artemis glaring down at him. "Enough! You are supposed to be training these demigods to fight and instead you are acting like a child!"
A couple of Hermes kids were taking new bets because Artemis had now entered it.
Percy stared at her, in a little shock before getting over it and standing up. He went to finish Jason, but Artemis stepped in front of him. She was in her eighteen year old form so she was almost as tall as Percy.
"You will not lay another finger on him. He is a god and will be treated with respect despite your feelings about him."
Percy's eye twitched, a sign that he was about to let loose. Unfortunately for Artemis she had never experienced this side of him before. "Move, goddess." He commanded.
She looked taken aback. No one had ever spoken to her like that. Without thinking, she slapped him. "I am an Olympian goddess! You do not order me to do anything!" She ranted.
Percy couldn't stand it any longer. He drowned out her ranting and swung. When his fist connected with her face she fell down. Artemis, Goddess of the Hunt, Moon, and Childbirth was knocked out with one punch.
"I said move." He muttered before stepping over her and attacking a stunned Jason.
He continued to beat him, "You killed our friends! You got Annabeth killed! And now you will die!" He growled.
"Percy!" Thalia shouted.
He heard her and stopped. He looked up to find tears in her eyes. "Stop, this isn't what Annabeth would want. She would want you to let him live. I want you to let him live!"
Percy looked back down at the mangled flesh. He didn't feel bad for what he did. Hell, he wanted to keep going, but he knew Thalia would never forgive him. He wasn't sure if Annabeth would have let him go through with it, but realized he shouldn't. He kills Jason, Zeus kills him, Poseidon and Zeus go to war. Olympus would be split in half and it wouldn't matter who the winner would be because the humans would lose either way.
Erebus and his son would kill whoever was left. Percy decided on another solution than that though. In ways, this was better.
"You are banished from this camp. If I ever catch you coming here without my approval then you will die. Not even Thalia will be able to stop me next time. Now go before I change my mind."
Percy got up and walked to his cabin, slamming the door shut behind him. Thalia and the small crowd stood in stunned silence.
Jason somehow managed to get off of the ground, but almost blacked out as soon as he did. "A-apollo." He slurred before falling over again. Thalia tried to catch him, but he fell too fast.
She sat next to him until a golden light appeared. When it was gone Apollo, God of the Sun, was standing there with a cringed face. "Oh damn. That's nasty." He said while pointing at Jason's mangled face.
"Will you just heal him." Thalia growled.
Apollo rolled his eyes, "I have to take him to my palace. He's going to need a lot of time before he gets back up from this. So, what happened to him anyway?"
Thalia glared at him, but sighed. "Percy."
Apollo looked at her with a raised eyebrow. "Oh."
Percy sat on his old bunk in the Poseidon cabin, thinking about what had just happened. He was about to kill Jason. Not like he cared that much, especially when the prick would just reform. Except, Thalia was watching and he knew he broke her heart. She was like a little sister to him even though she was technically older than him.
She was also Annabeths best friend which had immediately made them friends to begin with. Now all he had for friends were a few people from his time.
He hated this time. He sometimes even preferred it when all he had to worry about was killing the next biggest threat. Having to keep his family safe along with not knowing who exactly his enemy was wasn't good.
"Well, we are about to enter a world of shit dad." Percy muttered.
He hadn't meant to, but he had just called Poseidon to his cabin. The water from the salt water fountain rose up and formed a human figure before dropping to the ground. Poseidon was what was left behind.
"Yes we are." He replied.
