In this event, you'll be tasked with choosing a "love interest" and writing a fantasy romance short story with one of the featured prompts. In order to make the event inclusive to all backgrounds, we have made all the love interests gender neutral. Which character will you choose?

Each character leads to a new world filled with adventure. Choose a love interest and begin your journey to win their heart!

APIFantasy

The first door reveals a path littered with flower petals, making you mesmerized by the blooming cherry blossom trees. Fog appears and you begin to wonder if you should turn around and head home. The next thing you hear is a melodic voice, trying to persuade you to enter the sacred shrine that lies behind the smoke. When you step forward, you find yourself face to face with a fox spirit. Will you allow yourself to be enchanted by their charms?

MythandLegend

Behind the second door is a book about Greek mythology. Being an avid fan of mythology, you soar through the pages. Each page lulls you to sleep and soon enough, you're deep in your slumber. When you awaken, you find yourself trapped in a realistic dream, where the only way out is to win the heart of one deity. With Mount Olympus in front of you and the Underworld behind you, you have one choice to make. Who will you choose to fall in love with?

Romantic Fantasy

Although there is nothing behind the third door, something has changed within you. Every time you fall asleep, you travel to another world. During your visits, you meet a deity of death who is trapped in a place between the land of the living and the land of the dead. You're their only hope of escaping by teaching them how to love again, but there's just one problem. When you wake up, you return to your world. How will you free them?

The fourth door grants you clarity to understand the broken dreams you've been having. Ever since you were young, you've had a dream about a seal. Your latest dream reveals them as a selkie, a mystical seal shapeshifter. Their calls to you grow stronger and soon enough, you start to see glimpses of their thoughts. They've lost their cloak and you're the only person who can find it because you're their fated soulmate. Will you help this mysterious selkie?

FriendsnFamily

You open the fifth door and discover your childhood friend is on the other side. Your heart is in disarray because you realize they've been there for you during your darkest times and know you better than anyone else has or ever would. Will you open your heart to them and chase after the childhood friend you've fallen in love with?

♡ Stories that use the talesofthedeep prompt and is a standalone (not a sequel or can be read and understood without reading other books in the series), will be featured in the applicable reading list and have their story featured in talesofthedeep's anthology.

♡ Stories that use the FriendsnFamily prompt and is a standalone (not a sequel or can be read and understood without reading other books in the series), will be featured in the applicable reading list and have their story featured in FriendsnFamily's anthology.

Do I have to make a new book?

No. But if your new book is a direct sequel (meaning that we have to read other books in the series to understand anything/everything) or prequel, it won't be featured on the participating profiles.

Does it have to be 5000 words?

The word limit is that and not over.

Can I do a co-written story with someone?

Yes, you can! However, if you choose to publish on both your profiles, be aware that we can only add one story to our respective reading lists, not both.

Can I enter more than one entry?

Yes, but only one entry can win.

What about Mature? Are LGBTQ+ characters allowed?

Of course! We always welcome LGBTQ+ characters and stories. Mature is allowed so long as it meets Wattpad's Content Guidelines. Stories that do not meet this won't be accepted.

How will our entries be judged?

Stories are judged on various factors, such as writing quality, originality, and the relation to our prompt. Ensure you are proofreading your works before submitting! For the sake of this contest, we will also be assessing romance, world building, character development, and plot.
