DEC 2021 | Reclaim Your Myths [CLOSED]

Reclaim Your Myths

Photosensitivity Warning: Please note, contest chapter(s) may include flashing images/gifs.

The myths were asleep, deep in the ancient pillars;

Now they have risen, to build new treasures.

What's with myths? Have you heard their songs? They lurked in the shadows until now. Are you still wondering what it is all about? If you are, then walk forward. The secrets will unfold within this chapter.

In the short activity, Title It gold with Myths, we asked you to create titles for myths in your own way on retold and mythandlegend. From there, our team has picked the best titles for our contest prompts, Reclaim Your Myths. Now, it is your time to reclaim your myths using our prompts. What will be the story this time?

Here is your opportunity to pick a prompt and write your mythological tales.

@The-FairyTales

PROMPT FROM THE HOST PROFILES

The Star That Has Fallen - You witness how the stars fall down in a nearby forest and disappear behind those trees, leaving the world with the darkness. The rumor in the town said that, if the God/Goddess of stars has fallen down, there will be no star in the night sky. You are tempted to figure it out.

✯ PROMPT FROM @FreeThePOC

Eternal Matchmaking - Having heard the rumours, you went to the statue of Aphrodite in the middle of the city yard, threw a coin in the fountain and wished for a destined match. That night, Aphrodite came in your dreams, granting your wish on the condition that you experience a myth chosen by her.

(Note -Make sure to include at least one POC character if you choose this prompt to write your story.)

✯ PROMPT FROM @Cliches

A Love Untold - Typing away your imagination has made you a best-selling author. Your latest book on Eros and Psyche has been well received by your readers, but one day, a letter arrives on your doorstep. Cupid finds your work to be full of flaws, so you've been chosen to experience the true story for 24 hours to help you rewrite the book.

✯ PROMPT FROM @The-FairyTales

The Broken Cupid - You work with angels, and you happen to be the main cupid. Head of all Cupids. When you finally spot someone that doesn't seem to believe in fairytales or even YOU; Cupid exists, you accidentally shoot the wrong arrow at that particular person who doesn't even seem to believe you exist. How are you going to fix this mess? Or are you going to do something else for a change?

✯ Japanese PROMPT ✯

Bride of The Underworld - (BASED ON IZANAGI/IZANAMI) After your friend is abducted and taken to Yomi, the land of the dead, you decide to go and rescue them. However, some spirits and malevolent demons may pose a threat to your mission, as they're not ready to part with their new heir. Will you succeed?

✯ Chinese PROMPT ✯

To All The Stars Who Know - You had lived in a curse of love your entire life, which is, you could never love a person 'cause they end up leaving you. Unexpectedly, you see a meteor shower and you make a wish. You wish for a partner and your partner appears and says they are Altair and you are Vega. Is this destiny or fate?

✯ Sri Lankan PROMPT

Luctus Icarus - You are reading a book in a library when you suddenly find yourself falling asleep. When you wake up, you are in a world you have known too well in mythical books. You are now Icarus, but would you make the same mistake as he did? Or are you going to keep that story as it is? It's your choice to make now.
