Chapter 26

LOUIS' POV(previously)

In the morning I dressed in white joggers and gold sneakers then left immediately after my Dad traveled. I knocked on the door when I got to Fiona's house. I gasped as she opened the door fully revealing herself. She looked cute in the pink shirt, baggy jeans and black sneakers.

"Good morning Fiona, it's nice to see you," I greeted then she replied with a nod while shutting the door.

As she walked beside me with the strange silence all I could think of was how I would start my plan. I was second-guessing if this idea was a good one.

"You have come this far, why give up now?" my inner voice asked, a big structure drew my attention. It was a supermarket, the one my parents first took me to when I was younger. I wanted to take a look so I changed directions. I was walking when I noticed Fiona was not following so I went outside to call her in.

I turned after a while only to see her eyes dazzling in amazement I could help but smile at her expression "I come to this place sometimes, I'm happy you like it too, I-" I looked below only to see a little black girl with double puffy ponytail holding my leg "Louis Walter! I love you so much" my eyes widened not expecting something like that from her.

I crouched then smiled at her "What's your name?"

"Emily" she grinned shyly

"Okay Emily, what did you come here to buy?"

"I want to buy a Barbie doll but Mommy wants to buy food" she pouted as she looked at her shoes

"Ahh... okay, which doll do you want to buy?" I asked then she ran and came back shortly with a black doll

"See, she looks just like me" Emily smiled hugging the packaged doll

I don't know what came over me but I was determined to get the doll for the girl for some reason, maybe it was because I'm used to getting things that I want and I just wanted her to feel that satisfaction today for that unexpected greeting. My Dad taught me things like this shouldn't be my business and I should ignore them.

"C'mon, we're buying your barbie doll" she screamed and jumped on me hugging me tightly.

"Let me tell Mommy" she ran and returned with her mother this time.

"OMG Louis! my daughter is a big fan, I-I'm a big fan, thank you so much... I don't know what to say right now, I'm-"

"It's okay, Emily is a sweet girl, she deserves a gift from me" I cut her short intentionally not being a lover of too much blabbing.

I turned to Fiona "Let's go, I'd leave after paying" Emily grabbed my hands and held the doll in another while the others trailed behind.

We were about to part ways when Emily gave me a last warm hug then she waved at Fiona

When we were back on the road I was thinking of the right time to start the plan so I started a random conversation, on the way we saw a white cat with brown eyes staring at me.

"Aww... he's so cute" Fiona smiled at the little creature. She liked the cat as much as I did so I bent and stretched my hands slowly surprisingly it did not try to run away or bite me when I touched its fur after a while I was able to pick it up then held it close to my chest

"Snow! Come back here this instant" we turned to see a black-haired slim pale guy with mono eyelid black eyes about our age dressed in baggy clothes running towards us.

Sorry if he caused you any trouble" he took the cat gently without looking at us "no problem, he's a good boy" I answered

"Thank you so- Louis! Louis Walter!" his mouth formed an 'O' shape, I chuckled and smiled at his reaction. I noticed he wore my merchandise after he took his cat "S-Snow and I are huge fans, we love you, your interviews and magazines are amazing!"

"Cats like me too, cool" Snow purred as I rubbed his fur and the cat owner grinned widely

I was thinking of a way to leave so that the real 'day' would begin "Would have loved to stay for some time but I'm busy right now" I smiled at the cat and its owner.

As we walked away the guy shouted from afar "have fun! Make sure you get enough sleep Louis, eat well too, we'd support you always! Goodbye!" I cackled shaking my head "he's a loud one"

After some time I grabbed Fiona's hand and her eyes widened "let's do something fun, this walk is getting boring. Let's play a game, what do you say?" I said with a grin

What kind of game?"

"Hide and seek"

"Alright whatever, Who's hiding and who's seeking" Fiona sighed unenthusiastically

"I'm hiding and you're seeking... for an hour"

"Huh? That's not how to play, you'd make it boring. You know what? I don't care, let's just play so that I can go home and get some rest" she started the countdown then I ran to my hiding place, this was a sign of my plan going perfectly well and I couldn't be happier.

When I heard the door of the candy shop open I sensed it was Fiona, I informed the owner beforehand that a beautiful blonde will be seeking me so she won't be mistaken for a customer.

Fiona exhaled "Seriously?" She walked to me then I gave her the red heart-shaped chocolate box with a smile "this is for you" Fiona didn't stop staring at me and the box with wide eyes.

"Here, take it" I gazed at her then she took the box with her eyebrows slightly creased "thanks...but why?"

"No questions, start counting" I ran off before she could ask more

My second hiding place was the flower shop, I heard the sound of the door and smiled as I imagined her reaction

"Gotcha, again" Fiona arched a brow with a smug then I brought the flowers behind my back and gave her the red bouquet

"Oh... for me?" I nodded but her eyes were still fixed on the roses "you're a good seeker, let's keep going" I jogged out of the door without looking back

The last spot was the balloon shop, Fiona entered but she unexpectedly skipped my hiding place when she was close so I snuck up on her

"Surprise" She screamed and jumped away as I whispered in her ears. There was a faint shade of pink on her face when she saw me with a red heart-shaped balloon. I took her left hand and closed the rope in it. "Game over let's go" I pulled Fiona out of the balloon shop.

We were engulfed in silence as we walked side-by-side on the walkway until she broke it

"What kind of game are you playing?"

I looked at Fiona blankly "hide and seek"

She face-palmed with a deep sigh "you know what I mean...the chocolate, roses and balloon"

"Ohhh... that, I think it should be part of the game, it's more fun don't you think?"

"That's not the point, what I meant is-" my eyes roamed around the street "oh no! She's getting suspicious, I wouldn't be able to hid it for long!" I internally panicked until I saw a white ice cream truck by the left

"Oh ice cream!" I pulled Fiona to the nearby shop and ordered strawberry and chocolate flavors, not wanting her to build up tension and ruin the whole thing. I was about to pay for the ice creams before Fiona banged the money for both on the table which caused the diversion of attention.

When we were out of the area and back on the road I spoke "why did you react like that?"

Indeed of replying Fiona just stared at me like she didn't hear, after a minute she broke the silence "Louis, I-I want to go home"

"Sure, it's okay... so do you need a ride or-"

"No thanks I can walk" Fiona answered quickly

She smiled, opening the door. "It's good to be back." Fiona laid the chocolate, roses and balloon on the table.

"You enjoyed the trip right?" I cleared my throat trying my best to hide the little flinch in my tone while ignoring my racing heart as I imagined what Fiona's final reaction would be

"Are you kidding? With all the amazing stores it's impossible for anyone to hate it" her wide smile disappeared as she turned and saw me close to her, she moved away a bit which caused her to be trapped making it easy for me to pin her against the wall
