Chapter 20

LOUIS' POV

I called Fiona before the match multiple times but she didn't answer, for the game and my teammates I had to wave it off and get ready.

The soccer competition has been going on for a long time and the school that made it all the way through will go head-to-head with Dian footballers.

The crowd cheered as both teams walked to the field. We started with a coin toss and our opponent was given the ball.

Their defenses were strong but they were no match for Dylan and Jack. Our midfielders dribbled the ball and passed to me, Tommy and Robin always stayed close when I broke through their formation to score goals.

In fifteen minutes the scoreboard was reading 5-0, I rested my knees to catch my breath for a few seconds. In the middle of the match, I was absorbed in the strange feeling of sadness which cost Dian a couple of goals.

I shot the ball again when the crowd went "awwn" I groaned pulling my hair in frustration as I knew I missed another goal.

Tommy ran to me and yelled "What is wrong with you bruh! We're gonna lose if you keep this up" Instead of answering I sighed then turned my head.

The referee blew the whistle for the first half and the scoreboard was reading 5-3 I was ready to face the coach's wrath.

After refreshing ourselves for a short period Mr. David corrected the mistakes of everyone and told us to strengthen our defense then he turned to me.

"Now Louis..." he squinted with his arms folded before he continued

"I don't know what made you lose focus back there, you cost us double goals. You know you're our secret weapon so get your ass back in the game cuz we're spelling 'Web Academy' and bringing that trophy home!"

"Yeah!" my teammates' deep voices echoed and I nodded feeling it's the hype I needed to bring back my A-game.

As we stepped with our chest out and shoulders raised the crowd made some loud noises and I couldn't help but notice the first person that jumped up, a blonde-haired girl with a blue cap dressed in blue and white.

I felt like shouting with the audience, the thought of my cheerleader being here to support me made my heart dance with joy.

Our opponent started again, they somehow ran into our formation but they couldn't break through our defenders and soon the ball was passed to our midfielders then to me.

I ran into their formation with my teammates close by, I dribbled all obstacles and took a powerful shot.

"Goal!" The referee and the audience screamed in unison, I did a triple backflip and yelled at the crowd which earned another wave of uproar.

When we heard the whistle the screams of excitement filled the stadium, Dian team gathered together jumping and shouting as we held our mini celebration. We got back the goals we missed and scored an extra.

Mr. David high-fived the team and added a shoulder pat, after having a short amusing chat with the team we freshened up and changed our clothes before leaving the building. I was about to text Fiona put raised my head when I heard a familiar 'hi'

"Oh! I thought we'd be at home by now... thanks for showing up"

"Are you kidding? The game was entertaining, You guys were great! I didn't regret coming. Eleven goals are just wow!" she had a wide grin on her face and I knew she meant every word by the emotions in her voice.

"The last one was for you" Fiona smiled shyly with her head bowed.

I stared at her from head to toe, that's when I noticed she had beautiful long legs and I couldn't take my eyes off.

"Louis? Are you even listening?"

"Oh... yeah" I nodded and gave her a small smile.

"Sorry I arrived late I almost forgot... but I got this cool hat and it has your number '7' on it. What do you think?" she placed both hands on her waist with a smug.

I pulled it a little then chuckled "It fits you perfectly"

"Hey! I can't see" Fiona protested and pushed it back.

"Are you hmmm... busy? I thought maybe I could make up for last Saturday" I darted my eyes and tapped my fingers on my leg as I waited for an answer.

"No, I'm free"

"That's great! Let's go" I grinned then pulled her hands

"Woah... slow down" she jogged to close the gap.

FIONA's POV

We went to a nearby restaurant, and immediately they saw Louis. We were taken to a special small room clothed in luxury which I suspected to be a VIP room.

The table was cream-colored and had a smooth texture like glass, the chair felt like I was sitting on a cushioned couch, the floor was classic in black and the white walls added its unique style.

I was carried away by its beauty before the sound of the tray brought me back to reality.

"Enjoy the meal" the woman bowed a little before leaving. We were served a plate of strawberry ice cream, two slices of chocolate and vanilla cakes each, a big box of pizza and a bowl of roasted chicken.

My eyes widened as I looked at the food then at him repeatedly then he chuckled and said "Well... dig in"

"Why didn't you tell me it was lunch? I'm not hungry"

"Don't be so formal Fiona, I know you are... if you refuse to eat with me then maybe I will just throw the leftovers away" Louis shrugged and tried to make an indifferent face but a small smirk flashed, I knew he knew what to say from the beginning but he was right.

"Okay, I'll eat a little... you love sweet things right?"

"Yeah... I can eat them all night long" Louis leaned closer resting his hands on the table, his brow arced and a naughty smirk appeared on his face as he stared at me, I glanced at my sides then back to him.

"I-I was talking about the food... you know that right?"

"Oh! Yeah, the food" he smiled nervously then cleared his throat "I hardly eat any of these because of my diet, so I eat when I have the chance"

I wanted to ask him more questions but it may be personal and the last thing I want is to nose into others' business and they nosed into mine.

He started with the chicken and gave one to me "try it" I shook my head and gestured him to go first but he insisted so I took the first bite

"Hmm! Delicious, it's so good!"

"I knew you'd like it"

We finished everything except the big bowl of chicken which we halved, we relaxed for a while then left.

I thanked him for the meal and he nodded, we were quiet as we walked side by side.

"You know, you're a lot nicer than I expected you to be" Louis paused then turned to me, his eyes gave a surprised hint but it quickly disappeared.

"I won't ask about my first impression" Louis' laughter was muffled by his smile, he slid in front of me then I stopped and raised my head.

I was about to tell him I don't have time for his games but remained mute when I saw the look on his face, his eyes filled with emotions I didn't understand as he gazed into mine.

"Fiona... what do you think of me now?"
