Teasers for Book 2
This will probably be the last update on this book since we will start uploading on the upcoming book. The second book, which will be entitled 'Mystical Journey: More Than Just a Dream', will soon be posted here on wattpad so look out for any updates!
The story will continue from where it ended so we are not sure if we should introduce the characters once more as if it was a stand-alone book. What do you guys think? What if new readers would read our second book? Should we tell them that they must read A New Beginning before?
These are a few questions we wanted to ask you guys just to have your opinion about some things:
1-Should we add last names to the characters? We realized that it would be easier for Laith to know Badr's location if Mohamad told him Badr's full name, which includes a last name in normal conditions. However, Badr has two dads, so...it's just confusing which last name he should really use.
2-Which character would you like to see more of? We could make them appear more in book 2..
This is a short excerpt from chapter 1 of More Than Just a Dream:
{
There was less than a month left for the return to Evenlane academy. Badr was spending the rest of his summer with his family, while Malak and Yahya have already headed to the train station to go back to the boarding school.
"The train's about to leave," Yahya glanced at Yousef while trying to mutter his last words.
"Y...yeah," Yousef sighed.
"Are you coming with us?" Malak asked in a worried tone.
"No. I'm going back home. To my house," Yousef answered solemnly.
"Oh, okay," Malak sounded a little sad. "We'll see you in school then. We can talk about everything then – about Badr's father and...stuff like that."
"Yes, okay." Yousef turned away from his friends.
"Wait – one second..." Yahya said suddenly.
"Hm?"
"Just, uh, bye. See you soon..."
Yousef smiled then bid them goodbye just before the doors of the train were shut. He stayed at the station and watched the train leave until he couldn't see it anymore.
Two years have passed since Yousef last visited his home. He thought carefully of what would happen if he went there now. Would it be that bad if he entered his house late at night after two whole years? Can he act like it was no big deal?
After forty-five minutes with no visible taxi car, Yousef gave up and made his decision to look somewhere else. A few minutes later he discovered that even in the parking lot there was no sign of a taxicab. Since he forgot his skateboard at the school, he had no choice but to go back home on foot.
Yousef walked slowly down the cobbled streets of Rimor city. He was feeling very tensed as he made his way to the distant house. He tightened his grip on his bag pack straps while staring at the sky above him. It was dark and gloomy; no star was visible from where he was standing.
Yousef carried on to look for the hillside that his house was positioned on. It was getting darker and darker and that made it challenging for him to spot any familiar places. His legs were starting to ache; besides, he was gradually feeling more and more tired. He continued to walk for three hours with no success.
After a little while, he finally spotted the monotonous road that he took every morning to get to his old school before enrolling in Evenlane. Yousef strode along the long and narrow road; he veered through the several bends and buildings till he reached the huge iron gates. He was finally back. Back to the same old location he hated living in.
